Kiln Apartments

Beautifully designed, quiet building with just 19 units. SUPER quiet, great upper deck and neighborhood, with extremely responsive management (even though it switched halfway through my lease). My only issues with the place are that I own 2 bicycles, and was told I’d be able to store at least one in the ‘bike parking’ on the 1^st floor. Unfortunately, many residents here use this location as their permanent bike storage, so all 12 spots are constantly full… which complicates space + flow in a small 1-​bd unit, no matter how well it’s been designed.
Another issue is that as Portland summers become hotter + hotter, because the building has been so well-​designed to retain heat, my top floor south-​facing unit was anywhere between 88 – 98 degrees from mid-​April to mid-​August, day and night.
HOWEVER. If you don’t care about either of these things, you will be counted amongst the luckiest in Portland to live here. Truly.
