I’m giving this place 4 stars because the potatoes. GOWHENTHEREFRESH or DON’T GETTHEM they have so much other great options. The potatoes were a little soggy, and tasted like those French fries where their cold and bleh. But I will say everything else was great, the bourbon chicken and blackened was great even the veggies were perfectly seasoned and cooked perfect where it wasn’t to soft and soggy and not too hard!!! Definitely will come back soon!

The place is called«Cajun Grill» yet everything on the menu is asian inspired food. I mean, every plate comes with an egg roll… when was the last time you got an egg roll or lemon chicken in New Orleans? The food is just awful. Even by mall chinese food standards, everything here is just a pitiful, tasteless mess. I got the«Cajun Chicken» with sweet corn and fried rice. Yes. there is fried rice at this revisionist history«Cajun» restaurant. I ate some of the chicken but just had to stop eating as the rice was giving off a strong, pungent odor. I threw away an almost full plate of food. I highly question the taste level of people who claim to like this place. Anyone who likes«Cajun Grill» would probably also enjoy eating play-doh, paper towels, or maybe a handful of glass marbles. I would like to find at least one good thing to say about my experience there so I won’t be completely negative about this, but there really wasn’t anything positive to say. Even the employees there were spaced out and disinterested. Please, please think twice about eating here. At least choose a restaurant without an identity crisis.

RUN! Food poisoned for 2 days after eating here! So bummed. I highly recommend eating elsewhere where they have fresh food. If the food is dirty here, I can’t even imagine the kitchen

Horrible. Word to wise dont give people what you want to, give them what you advertise. «Blackened Fish» is not deep fried slop drenched in Cajun seasoning to hide the old oil taste. Also raise the temperature on your fryer so the fish, at least, isn’t oily… especially if your going to pretend its Blackened fish. Dont be offended if people dont want to throw their money away on unacceptable food, cook it properly and as you advertise or change your advertisement

So while I went to the gyro and grill next to this establishment, my girlfriend came here and she was impressed. There are a lot of asian fast food take out restaurants but this one was definitely one of the most convenient, pretty cheap for the amount of food we got($ 6.99 for the meal), but most importantly the food was great. The chicken, bourbon and lemon were our personal favorites. The bourbon chicken is tender, juicy, and full of flavor while the lemon chicken is every bit as tasty as the bourbon chicken. Im very happy me and my girlfriend tried cajun grill and gyro grill because not only did we get to eat some convenient yet tasty food, i got to save plenty for girl money like for that«cute LV purse»

While staying in Portland, Cajun Grill was recommend to me by a friend who has lived around the city for quite some time. After looking it up on Unilocal,I had to double check and make sure I had found the right place as it appeared to be in a mall food court. After double checking with her, and hearing that it indeed was in a food court, I was skeptical, but decided to give it a chance anyways. Once I had arrived, I was not necessarily surprised by what I found, the place appeared to be typical mall fare and didn’t really seem to be anything special. However, after trying a sample, and ordering a plate, I found myself pleasantly surprised with the food. Is it the best Cajun food I have ever had? Not even close. Is it a decent meal? Yes. It was pretty good, filling, and I left feeling like I had gotten my moneys worth, which is always a win when it comes to mall food. Although I wouldn’t make a special trip for it, I could see myself returning here if I am ever in Pioneer Place Mall again.

One of the few decent places(and in a food court mall!) in a city that despite its nearness to water seems afraid of fish. I had the blackened fish which was beyond tasty. Staff were super friendly and a nice change to see actual non-white people in the whitest city on the West Coast.

This is my son’s favorite place to eat in Portland. I know, clearly I’m not bringing him up right. For years we’ve had a little family routine in Portland on the weekends. Drive into town, go to the Saturday Market, grownups get some grub and listen to music, hop on MAX to Pioneer Square, get Bourbon Chicken from Cajun Grill, do a little shopping, return to the ‘burbs. Even though we’ve gone to a lot of other places, for son #1, Portland = Bourbon Chicken. And really, it isn’t all bad. Instead of choosing one of the starch sides, we always get a double order of fruit(strawberries, watermelon, kiwis and apples). The staff is always friendly and quick so we keep returning again and again and again…

* Got the combo with rice/pasta(I had the pasta), with one veggie side, and one meat side. I had the Bourbon Chicken. *Quick service, decent amount size of food. * When I brought it to my table about 20 steps away, my food wasn’t hot anymore. Minus one star for that.
