Beautiful man made fountains with an abundance of water (think waterfall) running down. We ate lunch here on the steps facing the fountain and it was the perfect date

This was a beautiful and peaceful area to walk around. The fountain is beautiful and the park area is filled with greenery and quiet places to sit. It seems like a great place to relax on your work lunch break, or to just chill and read a book!

This is one of my favorite spots in Portland — -has been for years! It’s a great place to stop for a bite to eat or to do some writing.

Beautiful man made fountains close to downtown (10 min walk south). Everything in Portland downtown is really close (streets are narrow).
Perfect photo ops from all angles.
Portland is known for food, beer, and outdoor. So don’t travel far to enjoy the outdoors. The water is often flowing, so do it for the ‘Gram.

Sad to say, Keller Fountain Park was not in service :(
It was turned off. I was hoping to have enjoyed the fountain and take some pictures.
Sad.

We came here after looking for some landmarks or touristy places to see before we returned home. Unfortunately the fountain was off, so we weren’t able to enjoy this park to it’s full extent.

We LOVE Keller Fountain! a great place to cool down on hot summer days! It’s almost like secret, not alot of people take advantage of but it’s awesome. If you’re in Portland in the summer, check it out. You won’t be sorry

The City of Portland is a wondrous walkable and exercise-​active city…
We had booked ourselves into a moderately priced hotel in Downtown Portland where we often left our car parked while we explored the city on foot. On the way to and from the 24 Hour Fitness Club in Downtown, we’d either pass or stop to admire this city block that was dedicated to Portland’s most prominent civic activist, Ira Keller.
This visually pleasing waterfall system is located on one side of the Keller Auditorium. There is a lot of indigenous plant life surrounding the park that brings balance and natural blending into the Portland landscape. Unfortunately, there were a lot of homeless encampments but the people seemed pretty harmless.
We often stopped to just admire and listen to the falling water as traffic noises and stress levels just disappeared. There were some mornings that we would just walk up to get coffee and pastry from Kobos Coffee on SW Market Street near Portland State University just to sit and enjoy the landscape.
Ira Keller established and organized a lot of civic organizations for the City of Portland. The dedication plaque for this park shows his objective and commitment to this city. In his words, «To help the people of Portland preserve the unique friendliness of our lovely city and to do it simply, frugally, and equitably which is the Portland way».

Cool to check out if you’re visiting Portland. There’s not much to do but walk around for a bit and take pictures. There was barf near the walkway. Good place to rest and grab a bite to eat.

You know as a child when you saw a fountain and couldn’t swim in it? Well, then this is the park for you. There is lots of fun and joy to be had at Keller park.

A must see for landscape architect and urban planning nerds. Also great for a little respite from the City. The crashing waters drown out the sounds of the adjacent street and you get a some relief from the summer heat in the shady spots. I love the sense of discovery and play at this fountain. Take some time to explore the different levels. Sounds like sometimes they turn the water off, which would make it less exciting, for sure. Also, wander the pedestrian path from here and check out the other two park/​fountain areas that make up the Halprin Sequence.

I love this fountain! Always great to swim in! Anyone know when it’ll turn on this year?

This is probably portlands largest fountain, it takes up most of the block/​park, It is really nice when it is running water is everywhere flowing through channels, falling, pooling and through it all is cement that people climb on (though signs suggest the city wishes they weren’t…good luck with that, it is very popular.
It is fun to watch on a hot day when people are climbing everywhere and enjoying the water.
Fun fact: this was a break through project for designer Angela Danadjieva it got her discovered and Seatle must have liked it because it hired her to do Freeway Park.
The fountain is National Register of Historic Places in March 2013

Walked a couple of miles to see this fountain because it looked good in the photos and it looked like a great place to let the kids go free since kids love water.
Man, was I disappointed.
The fountain was turned off and there was no water. :(
There were several homeless encampments present.
The structures making up the fountain is beautiful and, you could tell will make an impressive sight once water actually starts flowing.
It was very easy to find a spot to rest my tired feet but there wasn’t anything to keep us here for long.

Keller Fountain Park finds a calm niche in a city undergoing plastic surgery on it’s identity. The sculpture is to be found in a large square located near the Multnomah County Courthouse. With enough adventure, you might feel as if this were ancient. The fountain consumes much of the park with lots of waterfalls, stones, stone gaps and stairs.
I walked through here after only knowing the name of this park for a week. After I walked down the steps, my mind was blown away. This has an innocent feel like in a beach. One man was taking cell phone conversations under the stones. You can stand by big rocks.
Like in a good Mario game, I leaped across the rocks. This has a raw feeling of positivity, and hopefully there aren’t hurt kid’s parents suing the city were an accident to happen here. I would myself be brought to swim here in the summer, albeit with a shirt since this is downtown.
The unworkable steps led me to imagine the pyramid stairs of Egypt. We have such an amazing square since this sculpture is both easily traversed and overseen from the exact same park. It is also near public transportation and Portland State University.
Portland has managed to find a fountain park that a chamber of commerce actually can boast about without seeming desperate.

Awesome park! Has a chill vibe and is a great place for kids to play around. Perfect spot to cool down on a hot day and to relax. There are homeless people in the area but they don’t bother anybody and the park is close to a police station so there’s no need to worry.

Moving water creates some of the most tranquil sounds in the world. Thankfully, 1960s PDX planners were wise enough to recognize this and design the most unique city fountains/​waterfalls I’ve ever seen.
With just a few steps into the park on a hot summer’s day you can instantly feel transported into an dense urban forest, shaded by huge deciduous and evergreen trees and feeling the cool breeze drawn from the flowing water.
It’s great for lunchtime picnics (PSU foodcarts are just a couple blocks south) or just walking around, and definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area. Note that they turn off the water during the colder months, so best to visit during the warmer months (May-​October-​ish).
