Practical career and job search coaching on «How do I find a job in this difficult market?» to «I’m not sure WHAT to target for my career». Coaching includes how to develop your Personal Brand, Resume Writing, Networking strategies and techniques, Interviewing prep, mock interviews, Negotiation and how to look ahead and manage your career thoughtfully after you accept a position.

Most important, KC will provide exercises, feedback, inside tips and action items to help you identify what you uniquely bring to the market and to identify where you are most competitive.

History

Established in 2009.

K.C.began her career consulting over 30 years ago as an executive recruiter. She has career transition coached with two of the three global outplacement firms and started her private practice in 2009.

K.C. has over 30 years experience in career consulting, including 21 years in executive search. She was in senior corporate sales positions selling to Fortune 1000 companies and she is a Stanford Certified Project Manager. She combines a practical knowledge of the corporate hiring world, sales and the process orientation of project management along with a passion for each individual to have the skills, knowledge and ability to be pro-​active in their career, no matter the economy.

K.C. is a phenomenal resource for anyone looking to make a career transition or gain confidence in their current role. She is professional, genuine and efficient.
I hired K.C. to help me frame and build my first resume in 5 years. She provided tools, prior to meeting, that not only helped me become more aware of my strengths but also enabled her to have a draft ready. I had an exploratory conversation with KC recently and it was really valuable. She has a very good sense of how executives and job candidates must sell themselves, and what their practical market is for selling themselves. Her advice was great. She emphasizes that every career move is just one step that will lead to another. As a result, she emphasizes things like creating a «story» that you’d like to tell a prospective «buyer» (the person hiring you) based on your achievements, and then what story you’d like to tell people *after* you leave that position in a few years time. She forces you to ask questions like: what story am I telling others? Why should they hire me based on this? These seem like simple questions, but when you’re forced to answer them they become much more valuable insights.

I’m surprised there aren’t more reviews on here, since KC is absolutely amazing. First of all she gives you a free resume consultation for a half hour, and really goes in to a detailed review. She provided helpful templates to make my resume visually more appealing, and also to improve the content. Through the consultation I knew I wanted to work with her when I started getting my job search going. Which of course it did very quickly with my new awesome resume! Another plus about this is that you can do it all over the phone, so it is very convenient.
I called KC again when I was going through the interview process (at my now employer), and she helped me step by step through the offer discussion as well as the negotiation for start date/​salary/​etc. It was very helpful to have an actual professional, instead of my mom or friends giving advice about salary negotiation.

My daughter, Megan, graduated from Chico State in 2011 and has had trouble getting traction in her field. She started working with K.C. to help her get a plan together for how to approach her job search and get it jumpstarted in the direction she wanted to go. K.C. has given my daughter the confidence to really go after her career and in the 8 months that have transpired, Megan has now gotten a great job in her field and has relocated to Nashville, TN which was part of the master plan that she worked on with K.C. While I hate to see my daughter leave the nest, I am very greatful to K.C. for helping Megan realize her dreams and start her life. Our daughter graduated from college a little over a year ago and discovered it is not that easy to find the «dream job» or know even where to start… so we found K.C. and had her meet with our daughter to help her get started… K.C. spent the time to evaluate her strengths and goals and helped her to compose a resume. She also spent time helping her develop interviewing skills as well as learning ways to find potential job opportunities. The market is very competitive out there, but our daughter has landed a job in her field, and we believe that KC helped her achieve that both by helping her to be more realistic as well as building her self-​confidence. My only regret is that I didn’t meet K.C. sooner. Ever since college, I’ve fell into something trying to chase the money because I didn’t want to live with 3 other people or even worse yet share my room like I was still in college. 5 careers later in my thirties, I felt like my time was done. I’ve been successful and loved what I did, but somehow over the years I have changed and so have my priorities. My next step has to be the right one. I cannot afford to blow thousands on an education I won’t use or waste time doing something I don’t enjoy.
I took K.C. up on her free consultation and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. In a brief consultation, we made a game plan and I’ve made the first steps in working to figuring out what it is I really want to do. If I’m going to invest money in re-​educating myself, I need to make sure I have a game plan. It baffles me how people can spend thousands on education and have no plan. On top of that, they don’t invest in themselves by seeing someone like K.C. You are your biggest investment, it’s okay if you need someone to point you in the right direction.
I’ve decided to continue to work with K.C. Now I’m looking forward to my new direction and career!

I attended a meeting where KC spoke, and later took her up on her offer of a 20 minute free consultation. At both, she delivered insights and practical advice. After the 20 minute session, she suggested I was sufficiently prepared to make good progress on my own. That is, she used the 20 minutes not as a sales pitch, but to get real work done! That’s impressive, both on the efficiency/​effectiveness front, as well as showing her true desire to help.
I don’t know if I’ll need more help in the future, but I will definitely hire KC if I do!

I was stuck — I switched cities and I wanted to change careers at the same time. What I wanted thought I wanted to do required a brand new degree, a long training period, and a brand vocation. Big changes, and I am already middle-​aged.
I presented the dilemma to K.C., and she counseled me away from returning to school and earning a new degree. (Which would have been an extremely expensive time-​waster for me, I now see!)
Instead, K.C. helped me understand what I really wanted to do, which will require only a small amount of additional training and will serve me well in attaining my professional goal.
The WAY K.C. guided me was so gentle, so caring, so clearly in touch with who I am as a person. Amazing how she discerned the true me and spoke to that me.
