Business Owner

Dr. Joseph (Jay) A. Dugoni graduated from the University of Florida (Bachelor of Science), Louisiana State University (Masters of Science), University of North Carolina (Doctor of Dental Surgery), and Oregon Health Science University (Certificate in Orthodontics). He has practiced orthodontics since 1990 and is a Board Certified Orthodontist by The American Association of Orthodontics. He maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics, and local Tri-​County Orthodontic Study Club.

After a career as a wildlife biologist, Jay embraced the orthodontic profession and the lifestyle of the Pacific Northwest. He thoroughly enjoys all facets of the orthodontic profession particularly the relationships he develops with patients and their families. Jay and his wife Laurie, enjoy an active lifestyle with their four children.

I’ve had Invisalign over the past 10 months and think highly of Dr. Dugoni’s staff especially. I’ve not waited for longer than 2 minutes in the waiting room or longer than 15 minutes in the chair (that was one time; most other visits were less than 5 minutes). His staff have always been friendly, organized, and professional.
My only constructive feedback would be that Dr. Dugoni can, at times, feel a bit disingenuine (to an adult patient), but I would guess that to be because he sees so many patients that it’s difficult to remember all of them and the specific conversations he’s had with each.
Otherwise, I’m completely happy with my experience, and feel as if this is a place where you can trust they have your best interests in mind.

I was in Portland for work, and part of my permanent retainer broke. I called the office of Dr. Rensch and Dr. Dugoni to see if I could be fit in for a quick repair. They did a great job of seeing me without any advance notice and the repair was performed for a very reasonable price. They were aware that I was from out of town and would not likely be returning to bring them further business. I commend them for running a business with integrity.

This office is great! When I was living in the NE, it was the closest orthodontist to me. Thus far, I am on my 3rd liner for invisalign, with no troubles. The staff knows their stuff– and they get to know you on a personal level as well. Taking my molds, getting fitted, etc. were no hassle. Julie is great. I am always in and out of there quickly. They work around your schedule and also take insurance if you are lucky enough to have dental.

There probably wasn’t any way to make my daughter happy about getting/​having braces … but I found Dr. Dugoni and his staff to be friendly, efficient, and kind. A number of friends have also sent their children there, and one of the hygienists at my long-​term dentist office had her grown-​up braces from Dugoni’s office … high praise all around!

Dr. Dugoni and his staff are amazing! They are great with the patients and the parents. They are quick but thorough. Love them and recommend them frequently.
