I ordered a 20oz smoothie. They confirmed that was the size before making it. After sipping it back to the office I suddenly noticed it was merely larger than a 12oz hand sanitizer. The smoothie was blended with a combination of ice and powder, not made with real fruit. Ladies and gentlemen, DONOT come here, they are scammers and will rip you off!!!

I have been here a few times and the people are always nice. I like it because it’s pretty low key and never packed. The coffee is a little bitter but okay over all. I ordered food today the sandwich was good but not worth the value over priced and by a lot. They also had politics on which I don’t care for… 3 ½ stars but rounded up

As I was wandering downtown I stumbled upon this place. Coffee, check… bathroom, check plus. I walked in with every intention of getting coffee, however there is nothing more unappealing to me than carrying food items into the bathroom. Thanks, but no thanks. So I asked about using the restroom. «Oh, well, you see you have to make a purchase to use the bathrooms…» I responded by saying yes, I was planning to get coffee, but I needed to use the restroom. He insisted. Ok, whatever… I’m not about to join a power struggle here. So I ordered my usual — large drop coffee, no room. After paying I asked about leaving it to use the restroom. I was then told, «well, you have to purchase at least $ 3 to use the bathroom.» Enter rage(this is going on in my head: $&+%!#%¥£^?!$@*!!!) «what?! You’re kidding, right?!» Apparently not. At which point I am about to wet my pants or assault this barista with their own large hot coffee. «Wow. I’ll take that croissant. Now I would like to use the bathroom.» All this and I’m here to testify that the coffee is mediocre at best and the pastries are subpar. Their ethics are so legalistic I felt like I was living in the Dark Ages. Way to make a customer feel like a prisoner. Boo hiss and a single star to bite the dust.

Everything is cheap! Food taste amazing, lovely Family warming lady. She makes the best egg and cheese croissant… Easily consummated coffee… Just absolutely wonderful shop. I totally recommended going to visit this shop. Don’t even get me started on the bubble teas, they’re make you go nutts! Oh my glob I luuuurve their bubble tea! Yup, basically you’re an idiot not to visit the shop and try something. BUBBLETEAANDEEG&CHEESECROISSANT!!! My favorite is BBQ sandwich and taro bubble tea.

I stumbled in here for a coffee meeting and realized I was hungry, too. The menu is a bit overwhelming, so I asked about any gluten-free options. This being Portland — not a problem! So, this was the first time I’ve been able to have a gluten-free breakfast bagel! The bread tasted like a regular croissant(that I haven’t had in years), and I was duly impressed. I ordered a strawberry green bubble tea, and wasn’t wanting milk, but was offered soymilk and figured that was worth a try. It tasted more like a milkshake, so I didn’t really get my caffeine fix. But the GF croissant-tasting bagel more than made up for it. I’d stop by here again, for sure.

Enjoyed this quick little stop during my trip to PDX. Good customer service and a friendly atmosphere are important in a coffee shop and this place nails it. They have good smoothies and I highly recommend the numi green tea. I wish there was a java man near me I would buy one of those every day.

Used to work around the corner from here. I just love the staff so much. They get to know you and treat you very kindly. I would get my coffee elsewhere– it’s not the best but I like to give them business if I am near by. Plus they have pumpkin lattes year round and it’s way better than starshmucks seasonal kind. I’d recommend stopping in, mainly for the sweet owners. Plus you’ll find a delish muffin and or breakfast sandwhich. Props to Java man… You mean well.

. It was all you could ask for in a small coffee shop, a very well made coffee, that came to our table very quickly. They also sell bubble tea there which would have been very tempting absent the cold weather. Still, though this was certainly not my favorite coffee stop along the trip, at least they made that vanilla latte without so much sugar that I was unable to taste the coffee which is often a complaint of mine. It was actually a very well balanced drink.

Meh. I got a caramel latte and it was EXTREMELY sweet. I had to water it down just to make it drinkable. It wasn’t exactly cheap either. I don’t think I’ll be back. The lady at the counter was really nice though.

I wandered a little distance from the MAX platform, searching for a place to buy a cup of joe that isn’t owned by some evil, soul-crushing mega-corp. I spotted Java Man. As soon as I walked inside, I could tell it was a mom and pop shop. Very good. Lots of breakfast and lunch type food items up on the board. I was just looking for something loaded with caffeine and sugar. The lady behind the counter was friendly. The prices were friendly, too. Not an awesome coffee drink by any stretch, but it was more than adequate. I’d go back.

They have RICE milk! As well as Soy. Since Im not a huge soy fan, I was really excited about that. They also have awesome breakfast sandwiches, hard boiled eggs, pie’s, delicious fruit cups, and all kinds of snacks and foods. Fairly healthy lookin’ stuff, and very reasonable in their price. Also friendly and quick! I definitely recommend it if your in the area.

Solid place — came here this morning for a hot tea, a bagel with cream cheese, and WiFi before a job interview. The staff was so helpful, there was a HUGE selection of teas, it was clean and very well maintained. They had an extensive menu and I would totally go back to have coffee or lunch.

This is a great place for a quick bite and coffee on the go with a huge selection of treats. This seems odd and strange I’ve had the BBQ pork sandwich here and It consisted of cucumbers, cilantro, pickled carrots and radishes. Furthermore, the sandwich was made with pre-cooked pork that is diced NOT jerky. To John D. buddy I’m pretty sure that you have a different Java Man in mind. Next time take your time in writing a review and make sure it’s the correct location. There are over 4 Java Mans in the Portland area. Another thing they are mostly separately owned.

This place has very quick and friendly service, I would highly recommend the salmon sandwich, and if you are an ice coffee freak, they make a mean iced mocha.

I was wondering around downtown Portland, just looking for some coffee. I saw free wi-fi and the sweet aroma of coffee tickling my sensory glands. I wandering in and saw they serve bubble tea as well. The staff is very friendly and generally nice people. I promptly ordered the large Taro bubble tea of course! It was very good and reasonably priced. Definitely good place for a quick bite and surf the web. Also, they have good breakfast sandwiches.

Super friendly folks working here. They have a really large selection of tea and the fruit smoothies are on point. My sister also had one of the types of oatmeal and she could not get enough of it. My egg & cheese sandwich on a croissant wasn’t anything special, but it hit the spot and gave me the energy for the walking tour we were headed out on.

I wandered in in search of a Starbucks alternative close to where I work. In the few times I have been there the drinks have been good but the price is not all that much less than Starbucks. If I am on my way past Java Man I will stop in and enjoy a beverage but it is not one that I would go out of my way to visit.

I was walking aimlessly around downtown Portland and was looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast. At first I saw the sign«Now Serving Breakfast» so I looked up and saw the place was called«Java Man Coffee.» I was slightly curious about this Java Man. Most importantly, could he make a good breakfast? I walked into this Java establishment and was greeted by a friendly staff and a casual environment. I ordered an egg and cheese bagel sandwich. It was average to good and got the job done. The eggs were fluffy and had some seasoning. Tthe bagel was decent.

J-Man, I had high hopes for you. Unfortunately, you felt like more of an airport coffee stop than an actual café. You don’t have comfy furniture; you don’t have wireless; and your workers decided my raspberry mocha was going to be just raspberry. It was not a horrible experience, and it was quiet, and I finished my lab report — but the for-sale drawings of celebrities weirded me out. There were some cool paper cranes/birds, though.
