Sometimes bartenders can get stressed. I get it. Though sometimes you wonder if they’re directing their frustration in the right direction or if it even makes sense. We got here to wrap up the night. They were closing, but we were tired after a long day. Figured one last drink and one last bar to check out. We step in and approach a bar that’s not that crowded and the bartender is instructing another group, of about five people who also just walked in, to head upstairs and there will be someone up there. We get up there behind the other group and its empty, with all the chairs up already. Ummmm, did we miss something. Get back down and he tells us we got to sit somewhere. The bar is packed. I assure you it wasn’t. So we sat across from the bar. Ordered our drinks. Thought the place was alright. Tried to flag down our server and that took awhile. Eventually I just went up to the bartender and asked him if I could pay him. He seemed cool with it. I guess he was just stressing out about something before. Won’t rate the place bad, but wouldn’t say I loved the experience either. It was just odd and not in the way I usually like my oddness.

Such an amazing place with great food and great amazing cocktails. Came here during a weekend and it wasn’t as packed. Staff was friendly. Great service.

The food was pretty good but the portions are small and I think it’s over priced. I had the butcher steak. They gave me 4 very small slices of beef and it was drowning in steak sauce.

Blown away by the food and whiskey selection. This place is a hidden gem on N Mississippi. The boar burger is one of the best tasting burgers I’ve ever had. I highly recommend it.

The food here is great as well as it’s drink menu. Been here a few times and always enjoyed coming back to it in the summer months.

Happy hour is awesome here. I popped in to try their cocktails and was very pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend and I shared nearly every item on the menu and we were very impressed by all of it. Their cocktails are very spirit forward. We started with the Planters Punch and their Whiskey Ginger. I was expecting something lousy considering their low $ 5 price tag and how most sofa based cocktails tend to lean heavy on the soda and cheap put on the alcohol. This was not the case here. I could clearly taste both the whiskey and ginger beer and felt they didn’t skimp at all. The Planters Punch was very well balanced and flavorful as well. Later we tried their Kir Royale which was smooth and sweet, perfect as a dessert to their happy hour food which was also very scrumptious. We had their fries and pepper plates. The fries were delicious and served with a flavorful aioli sauce that I very much recommend. The whole place has an awesome prohibition era style that is present all the way down to their water bottles. I love when a place keeps a Co so stint look and brand through and through. Their upstairs has decent windows, lighting, and views as well. This will be one of my favorite pub hops during my visit to Portland.

Interurban has a nice local-bar feel to it without making you feel out of place. We were seated in the recently opened patio(this review is about a month late). We sat between 2 bonfire pits. My only complaint was that it was smoker city back there, but I’m not from Oregon so I don’t know if that’s normal or not. Oddly, I found Pliny the Elder on draft. Of course I had to get it. Otherwise, the beer was pretty good for options. Food-wise we got grilled artichoke and asparagus for an appetizer, which was amazing. My entrée was the wine braised lamb with house made egg noodles. Everything was perfect. We got dessert too, because why not. We got the brownie with ice cream and split it. Once again, everything tasted excellent. The price for dinner was extremely fair, if not cheap, and service was nice.

Was here a month ago, for a birthday, and the menu is creative and thoughtful. Nothing to waste, and all is sustainable. One had the boar burger, another had the venison tartar & the lamb so well done., I had the Sausage skillet with white and black pudding. I enjoyed it very much. The white was just this tight bundle of creamy goodness. Blood sausage, when heated, always has a texture/hard to stay togetherness about it, so it crumbled a bit, but the hard spice used in it was exquisite. My son had this enormous corn dog on his plate(which I vowed to do next time), and his girlfriend the smoked trout BLT. And the last person had an amazing large plate of fires. All the food was done with great care and attention to detail, and BTW, the whisky page is outstanding. And the service was attentive and knowledgeable. Well done!

What a lovely pub! My friend and I only stopped in this past sunny Saturday to get some quick jello shots, but the servers were every bit as helpful and nice as if were going to stay there for a full meal. Super appreciative of that(it helped that it was an afternoon lull). Love the outdoor patio in the back, it’s so nice and relaxing. Can’t wait to stop by here again. P. S. Their jello shot flavors are on a rotation, so they’re always different.

Perfect bar for a drink, or a drink and food with some friends or solo! Great bartender and tasty cocktails. They also have a great beer list and enough wines to make a wino like me pleasantly happy!

Great spot, I’m a big fan! I came here without knowing anything about it and was thoroughly pleased by the experience. I had already eaten, otherwise I would have definitely partook in what looks and sounds like some great food. I did indulge in their delicious and well crafted cocktails which did not disappoint. My friends really liked theirs as well. The atmosphere I found to be pub/tavern-esque. There is a lot of dark wood throughout which almost gives it a cabin pub feel. It’s cool without trying, while also being quite comfortable. I also liked that on a Saturday night, we found seating upstairs easily and service was quick and efficient. I’ll definitely return here on future PDX trips.

Rainbow trout BLT with special made aioli. Fresh baked bread made to order. What? What? This was an amazing sandwich. Flavor profile complimented each other extremely well. It wasn’t an overwhelming sandwich. Bread was thin and crisp. Important thing is… With such a delicate fish, the sandwich didn’t fall apart. Well done. Picture doesn’t do it justice.

Love this place. Saturday afternoon and we felt like having a beer. Walked into this warm cozy pub, sat at the bar, ordered beer and lunch from their excellent menu. Friendly girl behind the bar. The beer was delicious. Lunch will take me back to this place because it was SO good. Simple yet good, my favorite combo. And not expensive($ 12). We ordered Boudin Blanc and Campfire Skillet. Both excellent choice. Boudin Blanc was the softest tasting sausage, so good. Served with creamy kale(and I’m not a kale fan, but this was amazingly tasty), excellently poached egg, grit cake. Campfire skillet with a great sausage, baby potatoes and sour cream. Just a portion enough to hit the spot. Yes, we will be back. Probably Saturday afternoon ;-)

Quick downside: We were seated upstairs around 5:30, with happy hour ending at 6pm. Our waitress brought us waters, but was MIA. She didn’t come around until a minute or two after 6pm, in which she informed us that we could no longer order off the HH menu. So we just got drinks. However, we complained to another waitress, who was more than happy to give us that damn HH prices. Yay! Great bar, inventive drinks, and a pretty large menu. The bison burger is huge and not to be missed! They had so many great looking sandwiches, and a few raw oysters on the menu. I will be back to check them out!

I _never_order chicken at restaurants because… boring? But the waitress recommended it and I was so glad. The best chicken I’ve ever had, ever. In case the menu changes, I’m specifically talking about the wine braised chicken with egg noodles. I wish I could have had two plates(but the serving size is decent, fortunately). My colleague had the steak and my boss had three veggie dishes(coli sandwich, lentil soup, and broccolini). We also got the beans and crab/trout cakes as apps. Beans were yummy, cakes I could have skipped, but not bad. Broccolini was good but a little pricey given what you get. Regardless, I’m coming back to eat more chicken. Drinks were good too, and while the initial service was a little odd(no greeter and it took a long time to be waited on), once she came around(we were on the back patio) she was awesome — super friendly and also able to tame the roaring crowd next to us. We didn’t want to be jerks because they were having a good time, but we couldn’t hear across our table they were being so loud. My only complaint about this place is the no reservation policy, and that they allow smoking on the back patio, which maybe wouldn’t be SO bad if it were summer and more air was flowing, but the patio is screened in now for the winter and we didn’t enjoy cigarette smell with our food. That’s also a note to patrons — be polite and keep it contained! We had smokers sit on either side of our table after we had been seated :/ So 5 stars for food, 4 starts for atmosphere — which has the potential to be 5, but gets knocked a little for volume and air quality.

Didn’t hate it, but didn’t love it. I came here one evening with my boyfriend and his brother for Christmas day dinner. It’s a two level restaurant with bar taking up a majority of the first floor, and most of their dinner seating on the second floor. They have a total of eight tables down there and maybe three downstairs, which seems a little bizarro to me. We got seated at a two-person table, so it was a tight squeeze — and when asked to moved to a bigger table that just opened up, she blatantly said no. Our server was a little all over the place, and she mentioned it was her first day, but I expected her to still be poised. After a long wait to get her attention, we finally ordered our drinks. I got the the«Bramble on» cocktail and the«Battle of the Puebla» — both had delicious flavor combos. For dinner, I don’t remember the exact names of the dishes, but we got a bone marrow and lamb neck pie, baby potatoes & brussels sprouts with cheese, poutine, and a mulberry tart with eggnog ice cream. My favorite thing would have to be the filling of the bone marrow & lamb neck pie! The crust however was disappointing and fell apart as soon as we dug into the pie. The baby potatoes and brussels sprouts were underwhelming, and definitely something i’ve concocted before at home. The eggnog ice cream in the dessert was not very good, and again the crust fell apart too easily. Overall, our service was a little ridiculous, the food was good, but forgettable — and the ambiance was was too dark for my liking(would it hurt to turn up the lights a tad?) I probably won’t be back in the future, as they have a lot to work on as an establishment.

Love this place! Their brunch is always amazing, but I came here tonight to wait out the traffic. Being by myself I sat at the bar and was quickly waited on. Their food came out really quickly despite the large amount of people waiting at the bar. The food was really hot and tasted amazing. I had the bean appetizer and it was a perfect amount then the breaded pork for dinner. First time eating dinner here and it did not disappoint. Not to mention they have the best old fashioned this side of the river. For a Tuesday this place was packed-maybe I’m just getting old or this place is really hip. I highly recommend for first time Portland visitors and PDX natives! BUT don’t tell too many people because this place is already turning people away at the door due to capacity.

I haven’t actually eaten at Interurban, but it’s still one of my favorite stops when I’m on Mississippi. One of the more unique tap lists in that area, for sure. That’s always a bonus for the beer snob in me. The back patio has a couple of fire pits, and is plenty warm on a rainy day. Cool place to hang out.

I wanted to rate this establishment 1-star because I don’t want a lot of people to know about it. But this is really a phenomenal little restaurant/bar. Tasty food, good pricing, good portion, and relaxed and effortlessly cool atmosphere. Totes Instagram-worthy if you care about that kind of thing. They have a good selection of whiskey as well. Would love to try their brunch here. 10÷17÷15 — Okay, I finally came here for brunch, and Interurban did not disappoint. We ordered the Steak and Eggs with Jalapeño Butter, Trout and Potato skillet, and Poppyseed Pancakes with Lemon Curd. Everything was very flavorful, but my favorite was probably the pancakes. However, I find that brunch dishes are a little pricy, compared to what you would get for dinner and happy hour here for the same amount of money.

This place is totally underrated. No crazy long lines to get in, a nice covered patio out back. Just a fun chill spot to enjoy a great meal in a non-overpopulated environment. Loved their brunch offerings, specifically Grandpa’s Fried Chicken which was actually smoked-fried half game hen, house-made biscuit, jalapeño butter, bourbon-coffee-brown sugar syrup. So fucking delicious!!! It doesn’t come with gravy but do ask for it on the side, they charged about $ 2 extra but it’s so well worth it. Totally elevates the flavors to a whole new level since gravy contains boar meat. Deliciousness! The dark bird was also so juicy and flavorful. I’m sad I won’t get to enjoy this ever again since I’m not a local but do stop by in the area just for this item alone.
