Absolutely a beautiful store – I’m so glad I made it in after admiring it on Unilocal for s few years. I studied a new Donna Hay cookbook – stunning – and sampled a small bottle of Kai. It’s that kind of store – little pieces of magic tucked here and there.
The clerks were friendly and gave us space to discover and enjoy ourselves. The displays were pretty – I could have easily picked up more treasures but had to show restraint on Christmas Eve. Highly recommend this sweet shop – the owners have a great eye for the unique.

What a perfectly charming and well curated place. I stopped in to pick up some scented candles for gifts today and was met with not only a great selection to choose from (more than surpassed my expectations) but also great service from the employees and who I assume was the owner at the register. They even gift wrapped my purchases. I’m won over by this place. it was my first visit but certainly won’t be my last. From perfume oils to soaps, candles and a wide array of gift ideas, this is a surprisingly well-​stocked place. Some boutiques around town look good from the outside but you get in and its very sparse/​minimalist with a selection that is… lacking. Ink & Peat bucks that trend with a well stocked shop, a great discovery for me.

Great selection of products. It is always such a treat to go in and smell their wide array of scents.
But their staff makes me never want to go in again. I went in today with a friend and asked for help locating a perfume, as the sample was out, but no back-​stock was available for purchase, so I asked the grey haired woman if she had any in back, and she was extremely condescending and said, «It’s right here!» (it wasn’t) and pointed to a different product. After all was said and done, the product was unavailable. My friend decided to buy two candles instead.
Upon her purchase, the cashier was offended by my friend calling her «honey.» The cashier then said, «I have a sense of humor, but not when people are being rude to me.» My friend is from the South, and chronically uses terms of endearment, but unfortunately today her attempt to endear was met with hostility. My friend explained that she wasn’t trying to be rude, but uses terms of endearment consistently, and the cashier said, «Great movie.» And when my friend agreed that yes, it was a great movie, the cashier responded with, «now you’re just mocking me.» What?
This encounter was so unprofessional and strange that I am uncomfortable ever returning. She was so aggressive, and honestly, there was no way within our 7 minutes we could have upset her so much. Just as an FYI, my friend is a frequent shopper and spends at least $ 40-​$ 60 per visit multiple times a month.
I’m sorry to see that this has become a reflection of Ink and Peat, as all other employees we have encountered have been beyond kind, sweet and helpful, but I felt this necessary to bring to the attention of the management.

Let’s be honest, the place is great. It’s the kind of place that you bring people to who are visiting from out of town. My one gripe? The owner! Last time I was in I was shopping with my girlfriend who found a really beautiful turquoise cuff bracelet. We took the bracelet off of the wide open display ring and over 10 feet to the register. Apparently that’s all the time it took for the owner to assume we were stealing the item. We were LITERALLY being rung out for the bracelet while she comes up behind the counter, nudges the cashier helping us, and whispers very loudly, «where did they put that bracelet? There’s only one on display.» both my girlfriend and I were dumbfounded and staring blankly at the owner who finally looked down at the counter with the bracelet sitting there as the our cashier took off the price tag because we had just purchased it. She then goes on to say, «oh! You two are buying it! I thought you –well, I thought it was stolen! But, you bought it! OK! We just have a big problem with shoplifting and you never know with some customers!» Are you kidding me? Never again, ink & peat. Never again. Maybe you’ll have better luck than us, just cross your fingers that the owner will be out the day you visit.

This is the type of store that has everything you never knew you needed. It oozes creativity, smells amazing and is a must while in NE. Perfect for florals, quality gifts or crafty housewares for yourself.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It’s like all of my favorite things in one adorable store. My husband and I went in there 2 weekends ago and had yet another fabulous experience. We had my baby girl with us and the girls working flocked to her just smiling and gushing. So sweet. They have a great selection of children’s items (love the. jelltcat stuffed animals), perfume, flowers, lotion, house decorative items… This plan is a must see.

While waiting for a table at a neighboring restaurant, my husband and I wandered up the street. I was instantly drawn to this lovely, ethereal shop and had to go in. They carry a carefully curated selection of plants, cookbooks, body care, jewelry, paper goods, toys, and home décor.
I left with several air plants, a glass container to put them in, and a beautiful cookbook I might not have otherwise stumbled across. But I wanted every single thing they sell. It’s really beautiful stuff.
The two women working there were helpful (but didn’t hover), friendly, and I fell into an easy conversation with them. The only reason I can’t give this store 5 stars is that many of the items offered for sale are cost-​prohibitive to the average shopper. For instance, they had a shelf of gorgeous throw blankets in an array of prints, but I could not get past the $ 165 price tag for a (mostly) decorative piece of fabric. It’s simply not in my nature. Though I understand others feel differently.
Fortunately, they offer a wide array of items at just about any price point. And the store itself has a magical, serene quality that makes you want to stay for hours. I really love this place.

There’s some kind of Harry Potter magic going on here, some kind of Room of Requirement foo.
I swear that whatever I need at the moment, no matter how disparate those moments are — that is what I find here.
Last weekend, I needed age-​appropriate board books for a 4-​month old and I didn’t want to visit the nearby children’s store (it was chock-​full of children, eck). Lo! In a corner of ink & peat, there’s a few just so items for kids, including board books for wee ones.
What next?

Gorgeous stuff, great customer service and amazing flowers. My new go to for birthday presents.

Fabulous store, with fabulous customer service. They have great stuff, with superior quality. There was a small issue with an item I bought there, they were very friendly and worked to resolve the problem quickly. They really took time to correct a mistake which was no fault of the store. I will definitely shop here again in the future, really nice people.

This is such a great store to visit! The heavenly smell in the store from their products would lure me here on a daily basis had they been in my neighborhood.
They have scented lotions, scented candles, adorable little knickknacks, and just great gift ideas. The ladies who work here were so engaging and friendly, and they really made the shopping experience just that fun.

I think I’ve mentioned before that I’m a sucker for these type of home goods stores. Think Volupsa candles, succulents potted in cool utilitarian vases, Barr-​co soaps and lotion (basically an expanded Anthropologie home goods store). I love it all. Great place for gifts. Only gripe– bit on the pricey end, but certainly within the realm of what this stuff always costs. Would love to see more home decorative items and less lotion and perfume (hint hint). Would definitely check this place out…

I love this place. If I had a lot more money and less of an aversion to clutter, I’d shop here all the time. It’s like a gallery. There are lots of pretty things but very few practical items you need for day-​to-​day life. That said, if I need a gift, it’s one of the first places I go to look.
Everything they have is a kinesthetic delight and visually stunning to look at. The fabrics, the jewelry, the flowers, even the scented items like lotions and candles are delightful. There is a certain artistry to the way all the displays are arranged. Imagine giant, beautiful bouquets of stuff rather than flowers and you get the idea. If you’ve got someone to splurge on (including yourself) or are just feeling blue and want to be around friendly people and pretty things, Ink and Peat is where it’s at.

Christmas Shopping …
the internet can assist to lessen the pain of endlessly dealing
with the crowds, the traffic, the parking, the indecision and the constant little voice in my head that says «why am I doing this anyway».
However, if you are trying to find something personal, unique and perhaps not posted on some Ubercart website… the old school method of shopping… yes, actually physically entering a store is needed.
I was looking for a couple of Christmas gifts and a random a birthday gift for someone. Ink and Peat was immediately recommended to me.
Don’t let the store name fool you… The owner of the store has a amazing and unique eye for great design… whether searching for Jewelry, BodyCare, Candles, Home Décor etc… a friend of mine said that the retail store’s items are «dangerously cute»…and I challenge anyone that enters to not find something unique, personal, stylish cool or fun.
I&P is also well know for the flower design shop… the integration of the eye for good design and an eclectic nature provides a custom design based on your personal style.
the staff is friendly and amazingly helpful… they put together some great combinations of items for gifts I would have never personally come up with myself.
Parking is a pain… but the pain subsides quickly because .I can count on Ink and Peat to have something truly unique cool and personal for gifting.

What a delightful store! While waiting for brunch at Tasty n Sons, I found myself feasting my eyes on all the goodies at Ink & Peat.
The product is very nicely displayed throughout the store. I relished my time browsing through each section. Forget raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, these are a few of my favorite things and Ink & Peat has them: stationery, cute knickknacks, home and Christmas décor, jewelry, accessories, bath products… *sigh* I was especially fond of their collection of lotions and soaps and left happily with a Library of Flowers vanilla lotion (bonus– it was packaged in a matching tin box!).
The shopkeepers were all friendly as well! One of the gals commented on my Wooden Ships scarf and we started chatting. Turns out, they carry that brand too! She was also nice enough to share some recommendations to try at Tasty n Sons.
Ink & Peat is the perfect place to find a special gift for a friend or to treat yourself! It’s definitely worth a visit, even if you’re not going to brunch!

One of my favourite stores to buy gifts for friends (and to receive gifts from, hint hint). Also love that they carry Tokyo Milk Dark line of fragrances. I cannot live without the La Vie, La Morte scent. I kind of can’t live without them all, but have managed to narrow it down so as not to bankrupt myself on the selection.
They always have a cute selection of letterpress cards, the kind of cookbooks that make you want to drop everything and become a pastry chef, fresh floral gorgeousness, yummy candles, sumptuous caramels, and little dangly filigree earrings. The displays are beautifully done and the store personnel are always a delight.

What a lovely little shop! We were walking around the area and just popped in. The lady working joked with another customer that their shop was a waiting area for Tasty & Son’s. –blushing– I may or may not have been there for that very reason.
The waiting led me there, the adorableness of the store kept me there.
First off, it smells amazing! Of course I immediately started sniffing all the testers they had of perfumes and lotions and found a new scent I really, really want. .. Library of Flowers Wildflower & Fern. If you’re independently wealthy or just want to send gifties my way, send something from that scent line. Better yet, (I didn’t ask, so I don’t know) but you can go ask if they offer Ink & Peat gift cards and get me one of those.
They also have a lot of cute kitchen goodies, accessories, stationery, flowers and plushies. This is really one of those shops you just have to go look at yourself and find your own goodies.

I want to say that Ink & Peat is perfect for gift shopping, with their wonderful selection of body care products, accessories, household goods, books, and other knick-​knacks. It is, of course, just lovely for presents to oneself too! This beautiful shop in the HUB has high ceilings and plentiful natural light, creating a sense of expansiveness in what is actually a small space. It is bright, inviting, and a pleasure to browse. The goods are cluttered on vintage furniture, with gorgeous floral arrangements all about. The latter is an integral part of their business, as the owner also creates floral designs.
Although I had hoped to find more locally-​made goods here, their goal is simply to curate a collection of unique products, especially if handmade and created in a sustainable way. As such, I have encountered some of their goods in other shops before, and with interesting products from all over the world, expect the prices to be commensurate. But they have a fine selection and I could easily have spent more time than I did here. The salesperson complemented the experience with a genuine warmth and friendliness.
In every way, a delightful shop, and just my kind of shopping experience for presents or splurge for myself.

…luscious soaps in a multitude of scents, sizes and wraps,
.creative and top quality .note cards,
…lovely vessels (to hold plants or flowers or water or pencils),
…little bowls from Peru and other ceramic and pottery pieces by local artists too,
…fragrant candles,
…bound journals in a variety of styles and sizes for those of us who like to take pen or pencil to paper to record thoughts and notes
…wonderful appliqued and embroidered pillows from whimsical to more casually elegant,
…hard bound books fitting the natural elements theme,
…table top accessories and
…creative and «ahhhhhhh» some fresh floral arrangements.
And that just scratches the surface of the many treasures for sale. Plus the store itself feels so welcome, smells so good (I could hear nearly everyone entering say that as they came in — and I had too «it smells so GOOD in here») and the people who work here were so friendly and helpful.
While I was browsing around I thought of some of my Unilocal friends like Lydia L. and Alexandra S. and Dawn C. and Sherry S. who have posted reviews on lovely shops that I enjoyed visiting (virtually in all cases and actually in a couple) as a result of their reviews. So I thought I’d post this one and share Ink & Peat so they and others might enjoy it too.
