Hilton Portland & Executive Tower

This was the conference hotel for one of my organization’s annual meeting. Great location in downtown — as tourists we were well situated for dining, shopping, and other tourist activities. It also served as a good meeting space — it worked well for our fairly small conference. The hotel has a great view of the mountains. I used the hotel gym (24 hours) and my elliptical was next to windows so you could look out. The gym and the pool are right next to each other. There is a front main entrance/​exit and a convenient back entrance/​exit. Comfy room and I had a good stay.

Great hotel in the best location. It’s right in the middle of shopping, downtown, great restaurant options, hipster coffee and a short walk to Powell’s bookstore and public transportation. Minus one star for the hot tub not working, the lobby being loud (it echoes where HopCity is) and the lackluster service at the coffee shop. They use Peter Thomas Roth products that are pretty good. I would come back!

Wonderful hotel in the middle of downtown Portland. I stay here on the rare occasion that I can get a good deal. It’s usually more expensive than other area Hilton properties and there’s a reason. Many actually.
Within walking distance of downtown shopping, Pioneer place, good restaurants and Powell’s books this is a fine place to stay for your Portland adventures. Want to check out the Pearl district? It’s about a half a mile walk away, and you really should walk. Downtown Portlan is pedestrian friendly and there are lots of interesting spots to check out along the way. Hungry to try some of the PDX food carts? Just a short stroll.
This property has two buildings, a pool, and an excellent fitness facility. The common areas are very nice and the rooms are very comfortable. Parking is in the building, and they have a valet service. If you self-​park make sure you mention that you parked a car when you check in, or you have to pay when you exit, which is a bit of a hassle. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I was able to use the Hilton Honors app on my phone to check in, and it also functions as a digital room key opening the lock via Bluetooth. Pretty cool.

–PROS: Very convenient location, right across from Fogo de Chao, across the street from McDonald’s and Starbucks, the Yard house; Ruth Chris Steakhouse is nearby also. Beautifully decorated lobby, Hop City Tavern + Market is in the lobby, along with a gift shop and a USPS mail box. Friendly concierges. Very nice gym and pool.
–CONS: Very small bathroom. No mini fridge or microwave. Need to pay for Wi-​Fi. Parking is not convenient or easy to access. No real food places open after 12 midnight, no snack vending machine either. Had to walk to 7 – 11 two blocks away for pizza. Sounds of the street are muted but was awakened several times by loud truck horn blaring. Hop City Tavern + Market breakfast was pricey and a bit strange for our tastes.

Heading back to my home state is always a welcome trip, but I have yet to be enabled to stay in a hotel that compliments the beautiful surroundings that the state has to offer. This trend continued with my latest stay at the Hilton downtown.
First, the hotel is split into two separate buildings; one for the «normal» traveler and one for the «executive» traveler. Yeah, it didn’t make much sense. For some reason I was assigned the «executive» tower, and not feeling any more special than usual, trudged the extra block in that wonderful Oregon rain to get there.
Apparently, however, the «executive» tower is a better experience with bigger rooms and bathrooms than the normal side. Yes, that is fantastic, but overall the room was just a blah experience not holding a candle to the sleek, modern hotels I have been in lately (RE: Hyatt Place, The Woodlands, TX).
Even though I was supposed to be assigned the cool kids table, I spent most of my time eating at the restaurant and hanging out in the lobby of the much cooler normal part of the hotel.
Overall? Decent hotel that is weirdly configured no matter if you are designated as cool or not. This Hilton will be just fine, especially if you want to experience downtown Portland. If not, there are much better options out there.

Very convenient hotel. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Near pioneer square and pioneer mall.
My family arrived early and was given an early checkin. We were greeted with a huge smile from Aruni at the front desk. Got tour king room with an adjoining room with 2 double beds for my kids.
We utilized the heated indoor pool which is next to the gym. It was such a treat being 40 degrees and pouring outside.
Oh I forgot to mention the self parking. It was $ 30/​day with in and out access.
There is a restaurant in the lobby with full bar but, we did not try it.
The only downer which caused a drop in star is the rude valet the Hilton contracts out. Very disrespectful. Upon checkout Danny could not have been nicer. Because of him and his genuine kindness we will be back. He made our horrible experience with the valet much better.
This hotel is very convenient if you want to be in the heart of town and yet feeling tucked away from the noise. FREE WIFI. If you have a well behaved dog, no problem here.

My old roomie and I stayed at the Hilton Portland this past weekend for a quick vacation around the city, and had a fairly nice time, overall.
THE HIGHLIGHTS.
+ Affordable room rates to be found online
+ Centrally located in Downtow, and within walking distance of the Pearl District
+ Decently sized rooms (although very puny bathrooms)
+ Self check-​out (via the TV in your room)
Honestly, it was a pretty ordinary, easy experience. You don’t stay here for the exciting time, just for the convenience, really.

Mediocre hotel at best. Had to stay here due to a conference, and won’t again.
Rooms were really small, and the bathrooms are tiny — the toilet is in a weird and cramped location under the sink.
Wifi is super slow so don’t plan on getting a ton done, and it takes forever to catch an elevator — yes an elevator.
Room service and the gym are good though as is the location, but that’s about it. There are better options when staying in Portland.

Reasonable lodging in downtown Portland
The Hilton was a good choice for a quick downtown stay in Seattle. I was working toward my Hilton points. It was central to everything and very convenient. The rooms were clean, the service was good, and the facilities overall were great. I would definitely stay here again!

It is ok! But too expensive.
It really did not worth it.
Also they charge you 20% extra on room service and add 4 $ for delivery!

As a Diamond VIP, I’ve become used to quality customer service from Hilton properties. I’ve become accustomed to hearing yes from front desk staff.
To back up and say, I’ve lived for weeks at a time in every level of the brand and have spent enough money to acquire their highest elite status.
So, when I called earlier in the day to confirm my Diamond upgrade and spoke with the pompous front desk manager, Oliver, who upgraded me to a paltry studio suite which should be called a king deluxe and is called a king deluxe across the Hilton brand. Also, I knew they had the room I wanted because it was available online. When I arrived at the hotel, of course the hotel was booked up which according to the Hilton website was a lie.
I always look forward to the Hilton property brunch needless to say I’ve had a better breakfast in Hilton Garden properties and what property closes breakfast at 10 am on a weekend.
Here’s my advice, unless you are forced by your company to stay here, stay at the Doubletree Lloyd Center. Their customer service should be the benchmark and taught throughout the Hilton brand. I’ve been upgraded to their Governor suite maybe 20 times and their brunch puts this Hilton to shame. The Doubletree is on the MAX and central to downtown also.
The reason for 2 stars was the maid staff who helped find my room after the flustered front desk attendant wrote down the wrong room number.

Came here for work and we decided to get a room at the Hilton. I ended up getting a corner suite on the 17^th floor which wasn’t too bad.
For the price you pay at this hotel you’d think they give you some bottles of water or even free WiFi. Instead they charge you extra for it and the WiFi is extremely slow. Ridiculously slow.
The beds were okay. They seemed clean. Also the bathroom was pretty small. They give you soap shampoo etc but no toothpaste or a toothbrush. To be honest I expected better at the Hilton.
I’ll never stay here again.

This was actually a very convenient location for my last trip to Portland. My girlfriend and I were in town for the Vegan Food and Beer festival and the hotel was walking distance. But it was also easy to pick up buses or the Max to almost any other location we wanted to check out in Portland.
We also enjoyed the nice gym facilities and pool/​jacuzzi. Pleasantly surprising was the in-​hotel tavern, as the selection of beer was generous and the price not too high.
I will definitely keep this hotel in mind for future stays.

Just checked out and I can’t give this hotel anymore than three stars. The lobby is very nice and the beds are comfortable, that’s about the extent of the positives.
The elevators are ungodly slow, play 3 – 5 minutes of wait time from when you press the button before the elevator shows up, and it will show up packed full of people. The walls are paper thin and you hear everything, the A/​C unit was very loud, and you couldn’t control the heat of the water in the shower at all.
These are all little things, but it’s supposed to be the little things that separate a nice hotel from the rest.

I understand this is in the heart of downtown Portland but it must be the worst Hilton I have ever stayed at.
The people that work there are the best that I ever dealt with, very professional and accommodating but the room itself should get 1 star if that. It has to be the smallest Hilton room I ever stayed in.
I am spoiled because I’m a Hilton Diamond for life member and didn’t get upgraded to a bigger room.
The Fitness room is very nice.
The breakfast was mostly free because of my Diamond status but If I had to spend that kind of money on breakfast I would have gone someplace else.
Hilton is lucky they have such dedicated people working for them at this location.

Very nice hotel in downtown Portland, steps away from amazing dining and fantastic shops. The room was spacious with nice soft smooth linens. My only issue really was this facility has two buildings and you don’t know which one you are in unless you check in ahead of time with the app. I don’t normally do that, so I handed the keys to valet and went on in with luggage in tow. Turned out I was «upgraded to the executive tower». Great. But had to stop the valet, reload the luggage and then circle around the one way streets and dodge the trains to get to the entrance of the other building. Not so great. Perhaps some other way to let folks know which address to go to would be helpful.

This hotel actually is part of the main Hilton Portland Downtown. It’s located across the street from the main building. The Executive Tower is likely host to other businesses. The elevator in the hotel starts you at the 11^th floor and goes up from there. The staff was very friendly and accommodating by making great recommendations for sightseeing and dining. While this tower has a nice restaurant (Porto Terra) and fitness center (3 treadmills, weights, ellipticals, cycle), the main building across the street also has a larger restaurant and full health club with personal training available.
Located in downtown Portland, it’s convenient to the trolley system. The red, blue and green lines are all within a short walk. Close to shopping, dining and only 5 blocks from the river area.

I spent almost three weeks researching hotels for a 4 day stay in Portland… I decided the executive tower offered everything I longed for, a high floor, a proper shower (not a shower/​tub combo with a curtain) and some luxury. We checked in and immediately I knew everything I had communicated to MY reservation agent was not confirmed… Ended up on the 17^th floor, facing the loud AC units, ended up with that awful and dreaded shower/​tub combo… When i went back down to discuss this with Tyson he did everything they could to remedy, except the rooms I had reserved had been given away, I could downgrade my room, drag my luggage across the street to the other Hilton and get a lower quality room and save $ 25. I didn’t feel that was what I had planned, I had specially picked the Hilton executive tower for several reasons and didn’t get any of the amenities I had been dreaming of.
Yes nice hotel, yes good service (minus that grumpy bar lady) and a decent room. But I’ll stay somewhere else next time and pay just a bit more for that guarantee

I’m rating the hotel 3.5 stars. The hotel is nice and well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s centrally located so I was able to walk to pretty much everything in downtown. There were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.
On the downside, parking is somewhat inconvenient. Parking is in a different building a block down at $ 27 per day. You can always valet right in front of the hotel for $ 35 a day.
As for the rooms, they are on the small side. Even the coffee pot is on the window ledge because of space constraints. The small bathroom doesn’t have much counter space for those with a lot of stuff. And of course, there’s the angled toilet that seems to get a lot of mention in other reviews.
I think the thing that bothered me most was just the loudness of the air conditioner. I thought I was sleeping next to railroad tracks.

Whenever my mom comes to visit me she always stays here at the Hilton executive tower. This time she upgraded us to the top (20^th) floor. The view is awesome and the room is definitely nicer than the lower floors. There’s no microwave even though there’s a refrigerator and we like to take left overs, but oh well. Also there was a rattle in the room when the AC kicks in, but we tackled that monster before bed time. It’s also kind of a bummer that the pool and spa are across the street at the main Hilton.
The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. There’s valet parking which is great for me to meet her and not have to worry about my car.
The beds are soooo comfy and I love the sheets and simple comforter. Always a good sleep here!
Also it’s central so in walking distance to pioneer place, other shopping and an abundance of awesome restaurants.
