I got a Unilocal account just so I could rate this company and you can be sure that if they had negative stars, they would get them. In short they ruined my engagement ring, and wouldn’t give us our money back. I was appalled at how badly I was treated over such an important purchase. Jon was condescending and told me he couldn’t help me. I left the store crying and called their corporate customer service rep to explain, surely she would understand. She was just as rude! I told her I was going to write this review, she LAUGHED at me saying«Go ahead, bad reviews WON’T change our policies.» Well hun, this one’s for you. They agreed to fix my ring, but upon getting it back I was told by another jeweler that the center diamond was chipped in a place indicative of being tightened too hard, and that we should take them to small claims court. After MONTHS of fighting with them Harry Ritchie’s agreed to take it back, but wouldn’t give us money back for our warranty, and made us pay a restocking fee… I’m sorry, who ruined it? Oh ya, YOU, and I hope to God you didn’t restock that chipped diamond. What on Earth gives you the nerve to fight with us when you are so clearly in the wrong? What kind of morals do you have that you would not give us a full refund when you ruined our ring? What kind of business model is that? We finally just took what we could get, literally ran to the bank to cash their refund check, because we didn’t have faith that they wouldn’t cancel it the second we walked out the door. We went to Shane Company, now there is a successful business model, it’s called standing behind your product. We bought a beautiful, 3x bigger ring for less than 1⁄3 of what Harry Ritchie’s charged us. Harry Ritchie’s has lost sight of what is important, and I’ve made sure everyone who admires my new ring knows why we are Shane Co customers for life!

John is the man there! I’ve been coming to him for a few years now whenever I needed new watch batteries. He’s very meticulous and when he’s done he cleans up and polishes my timepieces as well. All that for ten bucks a battery! Well the time came when I now need the you know what ring and he was very helpful in helping my girlfriend and I design the ring of her dreams. He gave us excellent finance options and even though the interest was a bit high(even for people with excellent credit) he was able to work with their finance people to bring it down to a reasonable rate. He’s been on top of everything so far and I look forward to getting the ring soon! I will agree with Alissa on her review to an extent cause he did originally tell me that the ring would only take 4 – 6 weeks and we are at exactly 6 weeks now. I talked to a friend of mine in the industry and he said to expect closer to the 2 – 2.5 month range realistically. Getting a bit anxious but I know without a doubt John won’t steer me the wrong way. He’s been at this store since the 80’s and if you ever need any jewelry or work don’t hesitate to take it to this man!

I’m bumping these guys down to 4 stars solely for the amount of time it takes to get anything done(at least at this particular store). I still love their work, but I think people should know to show up with a request well in advance. My husband and I have gotten three rings from this jeweler: Ring #1(engagement) — as stated in my prior review, we wanted this in a bit of a rush, and they got it to us on time(we were very happy). However, a few weeks later I noticed that the jewel was set incorrectly, so we had to send it back in to be fixed(not a huge deal, they didn’t charge us, I love the ring, it didn’t take very long, etc). Ring #2(husband’s wedding ring) — we showed up about three weeks before the wedding looking for something really simple. They didn’t have his size, so they ordered it from another store in the area. It took 2 and a half weeks to get it(they said it would be 4 – 5 days), and I was kind of sweating that he wouldn’t have a ring for the wedding at all. But, hey, it came in time for the wedding, and… whatever. Ring #3(my wedding ring, made after the fact with diamonds given to me by my mother): I brought in my antique, family diamonds a few months after the wedding to have a ring made. They aren’t the most valuable thing in the world, but they’re really important to me. So, they took my engagement ring to make a mold. They wanted an exact match between the two bands. Cool, good idea. I handed over the engagement ring and was told it would be returned to me in five or six days. I didn’t get that ring back for a MONTH. The jeweler had a really bad flu, he was behind, etc, etc. That was acceptable for about three weeks. Then I started to worry something had happened to my ring and they just didn’t want to tell me. And what the heck was going on with my OTHER ring? I called… and called. And called. And called. Never once did they contact me first, which was seriously frustrating. I got one of the younger employees a few times, and I could tell she was annoyed that I was calling every other day. But hey, you have my engagement ring and you’re literally holding my family jewels in your hands. A little communication is always appreciated. Approximately two months later, I received the wedding ring. It’s really beautiful and I love it. Despite the rather frustrating experience, I would go back to this store. The manager has been around forever, they always recognize us, and they’re really nice. So. That was a really long story, and if you made it to the end, then you know how long I waited to get my freaking rings! Go to Harry Ritchie’s if you want a nice, quality product. Don’t go to Harry Ritchie’s if you’re in a hurry.

Was going to give my boyfriend a promise ring from this store but the cheapest I could find was a $ 200 ring. It had skulls on it and it was PERFECT. Too bad it was over my budget though. The asian employee that helped me was very nice and told me a few stories about the promise rings there so it wasn’t too bad. :P
