Handi Helper Movers

Please, do not give this «company» your time or your money. They never showed up on moving day, nor did they call. «Anthony» called the day before the scheduled moving time to confirm that they would be there. After about an hour of their expected arrival time on moving day, I called them a couple of times, but never got through to anyone.
My wife is nine months pregnant, so she was obviously not in a place to help move any large/​heavy items. This was a stressful time for us to move, but unfortunately it was necessary for space and cost. So, I was left to move nearly the entire house on my own (solo, without any other person), including couches, dressers, mattresses, etc.
For a «company» that claims to have «10 Plus Years Experience» they certainly do not operate like ANY legitimate business I’ve ever dealt with. We were home, we gave them the right address. There was ample parking space around our house. My phone was on. There is absolutely no reason that SOMEONE from the «company» could not call if something came up to prevent them from completing the agreed upon service.
For your own sake, and for the sake of promoting honest, dependable, legitimate small businesses DO NOT USE Handi Helpers for your moving needs.
It’s been a few days and I still haven’t heard from them…

I cannot stress load enough not to use this company. If there was a way to give zero stars they would get it. I called and scheduled for three guys to help me with my move. I called Anthony on Thursday to confirm that I was on the schedule for the upcoming Saturday. He said I was and they would be there at 9:00 AM. I asked him to confirm that they were bonded and insured. He assured me they were.
Saturday morning came and they were a complete no show. I called them several times to see what the issue was. They never answered the phone or returned my phone calls. At this point I had to scramble to get some friends and relatives to help me as I had to move that day.
I called Anthony on Monday to find out why they didn’t show up. He said the reason they didn’t come was because I asked him to verify that they had insurance. I have no idea whether or not they do have insurance but when they are a no show because you ask them about it, it makes me wonder.
I told him if he wasn’t going to show because I asked about insurance he could have at least told he didn’t want to do business with me, so I could have made other arrangements instead of leaving me hanging thinking he was going to show. He had no real answer other than to start asking me what I expected to achieve from my phone call other than to make him mad.
Bottom line with these guys is they are not dependable and don’t care at all if they leave people high on dry on moving day. Look at the other posts and you will see that there are several other instances of them not showing up. I wonder if they asked about insurance as well.

Anthony and Daniel were awesome! They helped me out when the other person I had hired canceled on me at the last minute. They were nice and did a great job communicating to me so I knew what was going on. I plan on moving sometime later in the coming year, and I definitely plan on using them.

DO NOT HIRE THEM. Unless you’re cool with scheduling a move, packing up your entire house, getting a truck, and having the movers NEVER show up. Anthony was very friendly and professional when I scheduled my move with them last week. However moving day came, and no one showed up, no one answered their phones, or returned any calls or texts. I still have not heard them. We were completely screwed.
If you read the reviews we were not the first people to have this happen. BEWARE.

Let me tell you, these guys really bailed me out today. My wife and I needed help moving and we had help lined up but then they didn’t come threw. So I hoped online and searched for help moving and found these guys. I called them and they were there in an hour and 15 min as promised. Such a blessing. They did everything and didn’t just take there time and work the clock. Very fast and efficient. Thank you guys so much for the help.

HORRIBLE CREW, Daniel showed up late!!! after that he gets into a parking space fight with another mover, and leaves without telling me anything and left me on a big project, had to call other people on craigslist to fix there negligence, after speaking with other movers from the Portland area, turns out they are known to lie alot about why there late or fake car troubles or never pick up there phones.

We arranged for a mover at 1 PM. They called they day before to confirm, so everything seemed on the level.
NOT THE CASE! They simply never came. We called at least 6 times between the two of us and only got voicemail. Anthony is who we delt with directly to scheduled and over an hour later after the no show, we’ve still heard NOTHING.
As important as moving is, treating someone this way is inexcusable. Please save your self the trouble and CHOOSE SOMEONE/​ANYONE ELSE.

After the last movers were a no-​show, I called Handi Helper Movers early the next morning. Daniel answered the phone and we made a last-​minute appt. He & his co-​worker were on time. Kicked —- and got the job done in half the time. I will be calling them for my next move. It will be a whole lot easier.

My husband and I needed someone to move some heavy furniture for us into our new apartment at the last minute. We found Anthony and Daniel on Craigslist and they quoted my husband one low flat rate, no stair fees or anything (we live upstairs), and said they could be there within the hour, which they were. They were friendly, cheerful and upbeat, despite the rain and time, and courteous, too. They had our furniture inside our apartment within 30 minutes. They even arranged it for us and put the couch pieces back together that had to be removed to fit through the door. We will definitely be using them in the future.

I have relocated out of the Portland and was taxed with returning to retrieve my household belongings. And know when folks say they’ll help move. .. . So I found Handi Helpers on craigslist. I had a pretty narrow window to work with to empty out my storage space.
The movers arrived early at the storage location. It was unseasonably hot. After asking a few questions about how far the Uhaul was going, the two movers set to work, staging and packing the truck. They were courteous and worked fast.
The items were packed so well that nothing shifted in the long drive to California. In fact the officer checking back of the truck at the California checkpoint complimented us on the well packed truck.
I heartily recommend their services!

I can’t in good conscience recommend these movers to anyone. They were scheduled to arrive at 10:15am. We sat waiting for them for forty minutes. When we finally texted them to inquire about their location, they said they had come to the house and left, without bothering to knock on my door, call me to let us know they’d arrived or even drive up the driveway. Perhaps these guys are good movers, but their lack of professionalism and inability to communicate in a reasonable fashion made my moving day unpleasant and left me without movers when I badly needed them.

We found Anthony and his guys on Craigslist after our original movers didn’t show up at 8am on our move-​in date. We had a fully loaded 26′ uhaul for a 2 bedroom apt on the third floor. After my Husband and I spent a majority of the previous day packing and loading the boxes/​furniture, we were pretty exhausted.
We called Anthony and he really was professional, friendly, and came out with two other guys within an hour. No extra fees, no stair fees, just a flat rate for the job. They really saved us and did an amazing job. Everything was moved carefully and quickly. Got everything moved in under two hours. Price was very affordable.
We will definitely be using them in the future and give a full recommendation.
