We specialize in creating beautiful, one-​of-​a-​kind portraits of your furry family members. Each portrait is hand painted in oil paint referencing photos you provide to us. Each painting captures in paint the unique personality of your pet.

History

Established in 2014.

Over the past 15 years, I have been in the design industry working as a creative director, art director and graphic designer.

At the beginning of 2014, I decided I wanted to actually do what I received my degree in… art. So, I founded Hand Painted Pet Portraits with the goal to beautifully capture in paint not only the likeness of furry family members, but their personality as well. Each completed work of art is a masterpiece celebrating the spirit of each pet.

Every painting is created by hand. There are no shortcuts. Time invested into each work of art is hours and hours. The end result? Well worth the investment.

My wife, kids and I rescued two furry family members from shelters, adopting them into our family. They are part of our family. Because I believe adopting pets is so important, I donate 10% of every custom pet portrait to local, Portland-​area animal shelters.

Meet the Business Owner

Nathan R.

Business Owner

Nathan Rhoads has been creating art for over 22 years. He graduated with honors from Point Loma Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts concentrating in painting. Currently, he is a member of Gallery 114 in Portland’s Pearl District. His work is versatile ranging from abstract to representational.

Nathan has also helped teach numerous art classes spanning a variety of mediums since 1997. Lately, Nathan has been busy taking on a variety of commissioned work.

Nathan lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Nicki and their two boys, Jameson and Macallan, along with their two rescued dogs.
