Whenever in doubt of a repair estimate or want a second opinion on a repair, I visit this place, seek their opinion, personalized care and Mr. Naren’s very honest and knowledgeable assessment and often end-​up getting repairs from him with peace of mind I have not been ripped-​off. Moreover, whenever he can’t do a certain repair, he recommends to another shop, who are also often of same expertise and integrity. Highly recommended.

This is the most honest auto repair shop I have ever come across. During the last few years we have taken both our cars — a Honda Accord, and Ford Windstar van multiple times.
Naren, the owner doesn’t do any unnecessary repairs. Just this past weekend (H&H is not open on weekends), I took my van to one of the shops in Aloha as the van was sputtering on start to get it checked for that and a couple of other issues. It required 3 things — a tune up, brake fluid fill up, and replacement of the steering fluid pump and tie rod. The estimate was slightly $ 980. I took the van to H&H yesterday and they did the tune-​up, filled the brake fluid, and didn’t have to replace the steering fluid pump (but a minor fix the steering wheel noise). My bill was $ 480.
Highly recommend this place.

I’m a woman, obviously. I don’t know a ton about cars I mean I’m not a mechanic, but I do know the important things that require common sense when it comes to taking care of your car.
I decided to call around to get quotes and see how much it was going to cost for my 90K mile service on my car. When I called a man with a very heavy accent who I could not understand answered. I told him I was just trying to get a quote to see how much it would be. His response was, «well it depends,» ok, what does it depend on? He said «if you don’t need anything done then it won’t cost you anything!» What! It’s a 90K mile service which is something that NEEDS to be done. Just like a tuneup, your the one that is supposed to check it! Sure I can tell you what I’ve had done in the past but your supposed to know what needs to be done NOW for this major service my car needs!

I am very satisfied with H&H which is hard to do with me and automotive places. We had some problems with our heater and thought out heater core might be out. We dropped it by H&H and they found the issue (new radiator) and fixed it within a day. However, a weeks later it started leaking worse than before. We took in our car, they ordered up a new part and installed it without any hassle. That is what I call service. If there is a failure in a part, replacing it free labor and all. I will continue to go to H&H for my automotive needs and would recommend them to anyone!

Recently, my wife had car trouble while visiting relatives in the Tigard area. H&H Auto was able to look at the car without an appointment, on a Monday morning, get it fixed within 4 hours, and get my wife on the road and back to Seattle. The cost for fixing the starter on our car was reasonable. Also, the owner’s story is inspiring.

My fiancé and I looked into going to this place for a pre-​purchase check on a car, and they were arrogant and didn’t feel like doing paperwork (said we could write it all down). They also told us we both had to be there so we wouldn’t play a «he said she said» game later and told my fiancé to take the afternoon of of work. They also said that their inspection was mostly using their experience and not a technical check into several areas… We took our business elsewhere!

Great shop! The people here are honest and reasonable. I’ve been going here for 3 years and I have never had a problem!

This posting is long overdue. H & H is the only place you need for auto repairs. Richard is a fix-​it genius and has been with Naren (the kind-​hearted owner) for decades. They’ve done the timing belt replacements on three of my vehicles, and they are supremely honest — even to the point of informing me I DIDN’T need to replace some parts I asked about (cap and wires). When’s the last time an auto shop did that. The business was profiled and commended by the Oregonian in 1999 as the auto shop with the «biggest heart» in Portland. I agree, and would also add «integrity» too.

H & H is a really great shop – they are friendly, honest, and charge reasonable prices. I have absolute confidence that they will not make costly unnecessary repairs. My family has been taking cars to them for more than 15 years and have always been happy. I have recommended them to friends, and two different friends already had used them and think they’re great. Also, if you look at the wall in the shop you’ll see many thank you cards from customers who are similarly happy about the service here.
I live in California now, but I drove up for Christmas last month and had my 10-​year-​old car serviced while I was there. They got me in quickly and did a great job. My parents in Portland still use the shop.
