Scott provided excellent customer service. I would highly recommend to all. Scott and his team worked efficiently and installed to my 100% satisfaction. Left the house clean. Made the outside look nice. My #1 reason for this recommendation is because of Scott’s great communication, friendly personality, and prompt response.
Yes, there was a minor hiccup with the A/​C unit a few weeks after install. But Scott called me back within the hour, came over later that night to inspect, and replaced the defective part the next day (making time in between his larger, previously scheduled jobs). He genuinely cared about his work, his product, and me, the customer.

GreenTech just installed a ductless heating/​cooling system in our home (two heads, one upstairs, one down – a fairly complicated installation, from what we could gather from other company’s reactions). Their work was impeccable, from the installation to their overall cleanliness of the job. The price seemed very fair, and the advice Scott gave us before signing a contract was sound, honest and very un-​pushy (he taught us so much more than any other company, and this all before we had signed). He predicted problems in the installation before they could ever occur to us, and always came up with smart, effective solutions. After the installation was done (completed in an efficient 1.5 days), Scott spent an hour with us teaching us about the system and giving us advice about how to use it most efficiently. And he’s just great to deal with on a personal level. Everything about the process was ideal.

Aaaaand my CPA pointed at his paperwork and what it did to my returns and said, «This guy did REALLY good things for you.» Go Scott! Still loving my furnace, and looking forward to a cool, energy-​efficient summer.

We had two energy audits completed for a small bungalow in the Sellwood area to upgrade from an almost non-​existent HVAC system. The audits were professionally done and made some solid recommendations for new installations. We contacted Scott as one of several contractors able to install a ductless heat pump system, which was the top recommendation of the audits. Scott carefully analyzed our needs and came up with a couple of alternatives that improved on the recommendations of the comprehensive energy audits. Throughout the entire process I felt that Scott had our best interests in mind and truly wanted to install a system that would save us money, be comfortable and that we would remain happy with. He accomplished all three. Very fast, high quality, professional installation, great product and a very competitive price. I highly recommend Green Tech. As a bonus, Scott is one of the most environmentally conscious vendors I have met. He wants to do not only what is best for the customer, but what’s best for the environment too.

I called Scott to get a full furnace installation after having to decommission my oil tank and being left with an unusable oil furnace. I had five other estimates from major/​well-​known companies in the Portland area and was the most impressed with Greentech. The value was great, quoted equipment was just what I had in mind, Scott was very honest and knowledgeable (not trying to up-​sell me on equipment I didn’t need, like the others) and they included a great warranty– none of the other companies warranted their work or the equipment without a huge fee. Scott showed up as scheduled, did an amazing job, took care of all the work with the gas company and city, and now I’m up and running and ready for the winter with a new gas furnace that I feel great about. Definitely glad I found these guys.

Two years ago I had a free energy review of my home that included huge discounts if I used the suggested contractors. The only thing my house really needed was an updated heating system. My house was built in the sixties and apparently energy was free so I have ridiculously slow and expensive ceiling heat. After getting a huge quote (even after discounts) from the suggested company I of course wanted to shop around. Several quotes later I found Scott. It was immediately clear that Scott was a leader in his field and quickly educated me about ductless systems. Scott informed me why my first bid was twice as much and $ 3000 more than actually putting in a whole ducted system. They wanted to install units that would heat and cool a place over twice as big as mine. One other bid was in line with Scott’s but had units half the size of what was needed which meant they would be working near 100% capacity all the time making them way more expensive to run.
Since Scott is so good at what he does he was of course booked out further than I wanted to wait at the time but quality work is worth the wait. Scott had a cancellation shortly after scheduling and I got my new ductless system installed in one day which proved to be the first hottest day of the year. The fact that these units cool as well was greatly underestimated by me.
After two years with these units I am still extremely happy with my decision to go with Green Tech. The units are as quiet and efficient as when first installed. Scott was informative, polite, professional, and did great work in a timely manner. He has a good sense of humor as well.
Also my wife wanted to know if the remote controls for the units were waterproof. They are not, and Scott was just as helpful years later in getting us a replacement remote.

Don’t bother to call this company if they did not install your unit. Their policy is if they didn’t install it, they can’t/won’t help you out.

So, I called GreenTech to get a quote for a new furnace when mine broke due to water damage. I was in an urgent situation, no heat for a while and other companies were quoting me ~2weeks to get to the install. It’s essentially a one-​man operation, and I was quite pleased that he took the time to talk with me on the phone, answer questions, and was very upfront that due to the busy time of year and complexity of my job that he wouldn’t be able to help. But he did provide a lot of very helpful guidance in navigating the local HVAC scene. He seemed knowledgeable and I was grateful he took the time and courtesy to not only return my call, but to make it worth the time for me as well. The company he suggested I try was able to fit me in, beating the time frame estimates that he and other companies had. Thank you for being a good resource!

I originally planned to install an AC/​heat pump at my house. After talking to multiple contractors, I decided to upgrade the whole AC/​furnace system as the old furnace is 17 years old. Including GreenTech, I talked to 8 contractors before making the decision to go with GreenTech. Other companies I talked to are Specialty, Sky, Oregon, FirstCall, TriCounty, Rosecity, A-​Action. I learned so much on heating and cooling from talking to all these people, which allowed me to make the right decision. Things I considered are professionalism, knowledge of the contractor, cost of the system, brand and type of the system. I have to say most of these contractors are very knowledgeable. But bids came in with $ 4000 cost difference from the lowest to the highest bid on the same tier of AC (13SEER non-​builder grade) and furnace (95%, 2-​stage, variable fan). GreenTech, by far is the most price competitive one.
Cost is one important factor, but I want the job to be done right too. Scott from GreenTech is great to work with. He really focuses on how to heat and cool your house efficiently, as well as cleaning the air through the media air filter. He is very straight forward and patient. He didn’t try to talk me into any more expensive system or add-​ins. Instead, he recommended exactly what I needed based on our long email conversations, and priced they system competitively. He also backs the products that he installs.
Installation was smooth and nicely done. I am very happy with the system so far. It’s much quieter than my old one and it does warm up the house. The Nest thermostat is cool. I can change the temperature in my bed and let the house warm up before I get up. To be fair, I need more time to use the system before I make further comment on the performance of the system. But as for HVAC contractor, I highly recommend GreenTech. You really can’t go wrong with them.
On a side note, I did an intensive research on AC/​Furnace system, and finally decided on Trane or American Standard. Majority of the forums and reviews pointed out that Trane or AS has the least problem down the road. Don’t let contractors fool you by telling you all brands are the same internally. They are not. But do note that Trane and American Standard are built by the same manufacturer. That one is true. You can find equivalent models between Trane and AS. The main difference is that Trane has heavy marketing. So by default, the company has to pass their marketing cost to the consumers, and that’s why Trane system is usually more expensive, comparing to AS.

Green tech installed a 98% furnace for me with the nest thermostat and it is a great system. They were friendly and easy to work with. I didn’t feel like there was any high pressure sales. The Nest thermostat is pretty cool too.

I was trying TWICE to get a technician from this company to service my AC.
First time I called it took them 2 days to call me back and leave a message that they have so much installation work that they do not want to deal with service. Well, I hope after this review they will not have as much work any more.
I called them next day to remind of myself. Someone called me back at the end of that day and gave me an appointment a month away. It so happened that day I was out of town and I noted that. He said that he would call me back with a new appointment date.
Guess what, nobody called me back.
I decided to give it a month and start over.
I called them in a month asked for servicemen to come over to do maintenance of my AC. Lady on the phone said that someone will call me back. It has been 2 weeks and I am still waiting…
I think that zero stars is what they deserved from me. I give them 1 star just because they did not mess anything up. Only wasted my time.
At this point I would not even want to deal with them anymore. I am sure there is someone else who would want to do the job.

Scott replaced the furnace in my rental. He did excellent work at a fair price, and is a nice guy to boot. I would highly recommend Green Tech.

I called GreenTech in the morning saying my furnace wasn’t working. The employee confirmed my contact information and said a technician would call me. No one ever called me back.

Scott just did my furnace in June and I have absolutely no complaints. He was professional and competent and his bid was fair without a lot of b/​s that you get from a lot of other companies (I had at least 5 bids). Plus he is a small business owner and that gets points with me.

I was remodeling a large home into a bed & breakfast and wanted zonal controls for the heating and cooling in the bedrooms and office. In addition we needed to replace the monster oil furnace in the basement with a new gas one for the common rooms. Scott came by and talked to me about the heat pump systems, something I was unfamiliar with. He is thoroughly knowledgeable and only promotes quality products, and during the remodel Greentech worked extremely well with the other contractors as there was a lot of overlap on work areas. He and his support crew were a pleasure to work with and the quality is A+. The new heat/​ac zonal units and furnace keep the house just as needed and I highly recommend Greentech.

I stumbled upon GreenTech by mistake — I had mixed up their company name with another one. It was serendipity!
After working on the hottest day of the year, Scott came over to give me an estimate. He quickly realized that he no longer held the manpower in his company to do the work required on the top of my condo building. Even after knowing that there would be no way to do business with me, he still spent an hour of his time to educate me, give me advice and insiders information on how to get the work done properly — all out of the goodness of his heart. And he also offered to give me further advice by email after I received estimates from other companies. I get the sense that this guy is honest, knows his stuff and focuses on quality work. I would have hired him in a heartbeat.

I’ve been researching heat pumps for a year now, trying to find the best replacement for the noisy inefficient «toasters» I’ve been «heating» with (and hating) for the past 6 years. Scott from Green Tech was one of 4 contractors I talked to. He was by far the most informative. He explained why he is a fan of Daikin heat pumps, and sent me a long list of folks he’d worked for. They all raved. He showed up promptly on the morning of the day we had scheduled for install (how often does THAT happen?!) and scheduled his dry wall guy to repair the ceiling and «toaster» removal the next day. He did a beautiful job, too. I have been living in guilt-​free, climate controlled comfort ever since… and the heat pump provides AC in the summer, too. Greentech rocks my saucy world!

We cannot praise this business enough. We needed to have a new gas furnace installed, gas stove installed, and a new gas line. These guys were the best bid and awesome service.
They’re also eco-​leaning and were able to give us a bunch of rad eco options — we settled on high efficiency gas, but they do heat pumps, hybrid, biofuel, and air filtration systems (according to their business card).
