Glacier Window and Door

Similar Experience to the original poster.
Not sure what the issue is with this company but customer service and honest business have nothing to do with their business plan.
My skylights and doors were over 3 months late. 3 months with a hole in my roof during the middle of winter. No apologies, nothing just a demand to pay for them before they were delivered.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I don’t have the time or inclination to write about everything that went wrong with our door installation through Glacier. Honestly, I am so worn out by having such a terrible experience that I don’t even want to write a review to explain how bad an experience it was. But here are the highlights so you don’t think I’m making stuff up.
From the initial contact, it took well over a month just to get a bid on the doors. From the time that we put a deposit down, it took over 6 months to get the door installed. Almost every single contact between myself and Glacier was initiated by me. No emails of progress, no apologies. I finally had to threaten to contact the CCB and/​or get a refund to get some action.
We had contracted to have the doors finished, but just the doors and sidelights; we were going to paint the jambs and framing in-​between. The door units showed up completely finished, so that if I want to paint them, I’ll have to sand through 3 layers of urethane to do so. Lastly, since Glacier’s measurement of the existing space for the door was off, they had to cut our interior trim so that one side is almost an inch narrower than the other.
Oh yes, even though I have a bill from them stating that I have until ²⁄₁₃ to pay the balance (which I received before the doors were even installed) I have been contacted 3 times in the last 5 days for final payment. I paid them more than 50% of the total as a downpayment 6 months ago and they seem to think that I won’t pay or something.
All I can say is to use this company at your own risk. I don’t know if they don’t do residential installs very often, but I have never had a worse experience using a contractor. Ever.
