Amazing!!! Incredible! In love with these sandwiches and I am so incredibly happy for choosing to add the cheesy garlic bread… AMAZING!!! Next I’ll try pizza!

I stumbled upon this place as I was 1) looking for shelter from the pouring rain and 2) definitely need to eat an overdue lunch. I did not realize this little hole-in-the-wall spot was a super popular italian sandwich place! Oh man, my tastebuds are reminiscing about the order. Since I was so incredibly hungry, I got the NY meatball hero(apparently a popular one) and some garlic cheesy bread. This was definitely way more bread and cheese than I could handle in one meal, but I was craving it! Garlic cheesy bread was good, and that sandwich was sooo good as well! Lots of flavor and ginormous. A true cheat meal. Since the place is so small, parking is limited. I noticed it’s a big place for families to come, spend time over a delish meal, and watch whatever game is on. Also, the staff seem really genuinely nice. A customer came in because she unfortunately spilled some spaghetti sauce in her car. Not only did one of the staffers get her napkins, but they offered to make her a small thing of sauce. So nice!

When going here you must try their sandwiches. The sandwiches here are super great. I did have their pizza here once and it was nothing special and a little spendy for a pizza.

My best friend and I were craving Italian food, and after a quick search on Unilocal,we decided to give Geraldi’s a try on a whim. Turns out, that was the best decision we could have made. Although the parking lot was a bit of a nightmare, we had no regrets as soon as we walked into the restaurant and were greeted with the most heavenly smells. The service was great; the man at the front counter took our order with a smile and made small talk with us, and seemed genuinely friendly. We both ended up getting the same thing– lasagna with garlic bread. At first, I thought it seemed a bit overpriced(I paid around $ 11 including a drink from the cooler), but once we received our food, we realized you really get your money’s worth. They literally give you half a loaf of garlic bread, and the portion of lasagna is extremely generous. Neither of us could finish all our food, and let me tell you, that is rare for us. The lasagna was absolutely perfect, and had an insane amount of ricotta cheese– which, for me, is a huge plus, because that’s the best part. The noodles were cooked just right, and the sauce was delicious as well. Paired with the buttery, crispy garlic bread, it was a fantastic meal. My friend and I are now determined to come back on a regular basis and try everything on the menu.

Geraldi’s always has your back. They are friendly, fast, and the food rocks. I get the signature dish-The spicy Geraldi. It’s funny because I live on the east side, which is full of sub shops and pizzerias. This little place on Canyon road gets me every time. The cold subs are what I go for and stand the test of taking it back to work to eat. Love it Sylvan, West Slope… eat it up!

Let me tell you this… I am Italian. I have been to Italy. My family has a secret Italian sauce recipe, I know good food when I taste it. Geraldi’s made my mouth extremely happy. Let me tell you why… I walked into the Geraldi’s establishment and immediately felt the vibes… the good vibes, the very good vibes. The menu was big and bright, lots of information and lots of delicious looking dishes! But of course… I needed a pizza, I needed a pizza real bad. I ordered a Italian sausage and pepperoni pizza. It was hand tossed and made with extreme care by Joe. By doing this it guaranteed that it would be up to par with the best pizzas in the world. And let me tell you, it was a beauty. Perfectly spaced pepperoni’s with Italian sausages in between… wow. The perfect ratio of cheese to sauce to pepperoni to sausage, perfect. Each bite was filled with cheesy goodness. I don’t even eat the crust usually but man I had to finish every single part of this pizza. I don’t live in Portland but I make it a point of all my trips here to make sure I go to Geraldi’s as soon as I arrive. A three hour drive with a hot, cheesy, saucy, meat filled pizza on a holy pizza pan waiting for me at the end of the bright tunnel? I’m in. TLDR: Geraldi’s is the best food you’ll ever have. If you don’t like it… 1. You’re wrong. 2. You need to have your taste buds tested. Go get Geraldi’s NOW!

My family lives just down the block from here, so we decided to give this place a try, after reading all the rave reviews, and we were not disappointed! We ordered a whole spicy geraldi, a whole mild geraldi, and an antipasto salad. Everything was delicious! Plus the waitstaff/cashiers were super friendly and the restaurant itself was clean and inviting. I took out my last order, but I think I’ll drop by and eat in someday. Just a little tip though: The half-size is 6″ and the whole size is 9″. You might be thinking to yourself, «I can eat a footlong at Subway no problem, so even the whole size might not fill me up.» Well, you’d be wrong. The sandwiches here have bread much thicker(and more delicious) than Subway, and they pack in a whole lot of meat and ingredients, so you’ll get far more full from a 9″ here than a footlong at Subway. Be warned!

This place is uh-mazing takeout. The smell that hits you when you walk thru the door took me straight back to our favorite pizza place in Chicago. We were thrilled with our hot sandwiches, are going back to try the pizza tonight, & are keeping the lasagna & lunch specials on the to-be-tried short list. All I can say is… if you’re considering Geraldi’s, DOOOOO it.

Bought a 6-foot sub for a football game watch party. Would definitely recommend for anybody looking to feed, and satisfy, their get together. Quality of the sandwich is top notch, plus you get to choose different meats for each two feet. Note, six feet of sub fed seven of us(with about 10 inches to spare).

I love this place!!! My boyfriend introduced me to it. He’s been going here so long that he practically has his own sandwich on the secret menu, and now I’m just as hooked as he is. The staff is super friendly, and I love that their parking lot is easy to get in and out of for lowered cars like mine.

Yes yes yes, so much yes. Geraldi’s has the finest cold cut in the Portland area(in my opinion of course, but I’m pretty sure I’m right). I nearly always go with the Spicy Geraldi(add jalapeños & pepperoncinis!). That said I have also enjoyed the Chicago Beef Hero, and New York Meatball Hero. The ingredients always taste very fresh — for example, the tomatoes crunch as opposed to dissolving. The bread is divine, the outside being flaky and the inside very soft. Big helpings of cured meats are sure to leave you filled, and delighted. The gents working there are class acts, and super friendly regardless of how hot it is, or how crowded they are. The restaurant is comfortable, and clean. The *only* thing that would make Geraldi’s better is if they imported giardiniera from Chicago. That said, I basically think every restaurant should, haha. I’m pretty much always in a perpetual state of «I’ll be going back soon,» with them!

Italian sandwiches and Pizza. We came just to try the sandwiches. Unilocal loves Geraldi’s and they have the Unilocal stickers on their restaurant windows to prove it. A very casual feel and laid back employees building sandwiches behind the small counter. We tried the Spicy Geraldi and the Chicken Parmesan Hero. The bread is a thick chewy french bread. It worked beautifully with the sandwiches. The Spicy Geraldi was put together well with some really tasty ham. I would rather pick up this sub then settle for Jimmy Johns. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious! The chicken was piping hot and loaded with flavor. It was saucy with seasoned marinara and loaded with creamy mozzarella. I could really taste the herbs and spices. The bread was slightly toasted. The whole sandwich came together so well, I will be sure to order it in the future whenever I pass through Beaverton. It is worth trying Geraldi’s if you are craving NY style Italian Deli sandwiches. I highly doubt you will regret it.

My search for the best meatball sandwich has hit a new high. Over 50 years ago, I had a great one at a long since closed establishment. Since then, my declining memory has magnified its greatness. I have compared all meatball sandwiches since to that memory. None has been able to come close — until now. Geraldi’s is perfection. The meatballs are tasty and tender. The marinara is wonderful. The bread is toasted to a just-right crispness. There is just the right amount of cheese. It could not be better. Thank you Giraldi, for this experience before I died.

I seem to recall a Geraldi’s in NW Portland somewhere… at some point? This is drawing from a memory at a former employer over a decade ago, so I might be wrong. HOWEVER, I do recall them raving about Geraldi’s, yet I never tried it. A few weeks ago, I was thumbing through Unilocal looking for a(fast) hot sandwich option that was not your standard Subway/Quizno’s fare. Recently a friend had returned from Hood River and I was overwhelmingly jealous that they’d made a trip to New York City sub shop(seriously, check them out if you’re in Hood River, Bend, Redmond or… Jackson Hole, WY). My Unilocal searching led me to Geraldi’s. I’ve driven by Geraldi’s hundreds of times, noticed it once or twice and thought… «that’s quaint», but never actually patronized the joint. Well, I stopped by a few weeks ago. It’s at the intersection of Walker and Canyon roads. Parking is minimal, so be warned. The shop was small-ish, clean and like other reviews indicate the guys are helpful and friendly. I got a whole chicken parm sandwich, to go. Impression of the sandwich: very good, but a few things kept it from being perfect. There was plenty of mozzarella cheese, which is ordinarily freaking fantastic, but IMO, there was just a little too much. It was gooey and oozing out the sides with each bite, and kinda dominated the whole experience. The chicken, while quite good, would have benefited from being crispier(more crispy?). I feel pretty certain that this had something to do with my 20 minute drive home, and I bet it’s better consumed on site. Lastly, the marinara was fairly plain. Otherwise — dang good sandwich, at an entirely reasonable price. I’ve got multiple other sandwiches earmarked to try, including the chicago beef hero, new york meatball hero and the(cold) spicy Geraldi. Can’t wait!

The 3 stars is for the meatball sub. I’d give the pizza 2 stars, probably comparable to Pizza Hut or Papa Johns. The sub is great, definitely a solid choice. The pizza had no flavor, the sauce could not stand up to the cheese, which was very disappointing. I was hoping for something better. I’ve tried it twice now, and for the money(it’s $ 20 for a pie) definitely not worth it.

The service was pretty good… and that’s where it ends, my friends. Extremely basic-tasting foods Bland marinara sauce Horrible…just horrible salad Overcooked, limp lasagna noodles Okay italian bread but it was sopping with some sort of fake, yellow crud(I’m pretty sure it was not butter). In other news, there are plenty of places to sit within the restaurant. And there are about 5 – 7 parking spots in front of the establishment. They prefer cash but will accept cc’s.
