One of the Festivals brought to you by Widmer Brothers, Dave’s Killer Bread, and Feast Portland at Director Park. First of all, Director Park is beautiful with the ever changing lights complemented by the DJ spinning 80s freestyle mix. It was a beautiful night with mild weather. The Sandwiches here were nothing close to anything on 2 pieces of bread though. Gregory Gourdet won the judges award for his Crêpe while Chef Vitaly won for his version of Banh mi on fried chip. The Widmer brothers booth had wonderful collaboration beers on tap like the grapefruit radler and the missing legs saison. They were both wonderful to go with the food. I love the Tilamook sandwich here, it was finger licking good. Of course, there were broken glasses as well and there were protesters that makes Portland weird. Highly recommend this festival as it the lines(except for Gregory’s) were all manageable. Alvin from EggSlut represented with his Egg Dip sandwich, soo good!

Another home run for the folks behind Feast Portland. We didn’t get to go to the first Sandwich Invitational, but we made it last year and bought our tickets for this year. This event kicks off Feast weekend and it does it with a smash! You’ll need to roll yourself back to your hotel after this event. Every type of sandwich is here. Seriously. There are certain stands you’ll want to head back to, but make sure to try each and every one. Also, it’s sponsored by Widmer so there is beer EVERYWHERE! Wine is also available, if you want to feel a little fancier when eating a gourmet sandwich or twelve. Save the water bottle station for the end so you’ll have water to take back to your room. Your body will thank you for that missed hangover. It’s a long weekend of eating, after all.
