TL;DR — if you want to feel like you are entering Narnia and have a nymph like character melodically caress you for 30 minutes, this is the place for you.
Hold on for an incredible story of «inner healing» and «flute therapy» ladies and gentlemen. You will laugh and hopefully feel my discomfort by the end of this story.
I made an apt for a shiatsu & deep tissue massage with Jonathan per the recommendation of the front desk as a Thai massage therapist was not available. Upon arrival on time, I was greeted by very slow, laid back service. While filling out my paperwork my massage therapist chatted with a coworker and continued his conversation after seeing I was done. Once we got into the massage room he asked the normal questions and then proceeded to start a short yoga session to open my back and arms. I was clearly not dressed for that but I did my best. Afterward, he started the massage in which I let him know I like firm pressure. He proceeded with a very lackluster attempt at a massage and then the music turned off AND HE STARTED PLAYING THE FLUTE! I kid you not! He did two circles around me with his passionate flute playing, then informed me the «experience» was done. I looked at my phone and saw that he ended exactly an hour after I arrived at the shop, not after the massage began. I was floored! He then proceeded to give me a sales pitch and remind me how expensive the massages are normally. I felt so uncomfortable I left a $ 10 tip and left. If I could go back in time, I would have left nothing. To end it all, my back started to twitch and go out on my way home. Needless to say, this was the most awkward waste of money and time.

Found this place through groupon after sticking to the bigger brands for my first couple massages. Stayed with Eyem since, great service, flexibility and friendly staff. Love the positive atmosphere as well as being able to trudt no matter who I schedule with, the massage will be great.

I’ve had 2 appointments with Stephen and Scott. They were both exactly perfect. Stephen was able to help me move past some chronic blocks in just one session. I don’t know how he does it. It was like an outer body experience that opened the door to some big realizations that I was able to work through on my own once my body came back to earth. Scott’s massages were not just relaxing and felt great, but he listened to what I was requesting (working on external rotation of my hips) and delivered. I significantly had more movement in my hips following his massage. I would highly recommend both of these practitioners but be open and ready to receive healing and you’ll get even more out of it. If I had more money, I’d have weekly standing appointments at EYEM.

I have been going to EYEM for a little over a year now, and see it as a sanctuary where some serious bodywork progress has been made. Shelzey is the best! I always love checking in with her each month to gauge the latest thing she is into, for example, salts :-) She is great for deep alignment massages.

I’ve had some pretty disappointing massages, so I pretty much stick with my regular therapist, who is awesome. However, after driving 900+ miles from Los Angeles, I was having some debilitating muscle spasms in my legs that just wouldn’t quit — and my regular therapist is in LA. After one particularly bad episode on Saturday, I decided I really needed to do something about it because it was impairing me in doing what I needed to get done in Portland. I called EYEM and hung up when I got voice mail. A little while later, I got a call from Stephen — he’d seen my caller ID come up and was calling me to see if there was anything they could do for me. That was pretty awesome. He listened to what I needed, made some suggestions for what he could do for me, and although he knew this was a one-​time visit for me, got me an appointment right away.
The ambiance is great if you’re into New Age atmosphere. I’m not, but at that point I didn’t care — just fix me! It’s relaxing and the people are very friendly. The massage table had some kind of awesome heating mattress on it. It’s the first time I’ve been truly warm since I got to Portland. That alone was worth the entire visit. I wanted to keep it! But wait — there’s more! Stephen did a really great massage, paid special attention to the areas where I was having muscle spasms, and used a magnesium-​enriched cream. I haven’t had one twinge since; I’ve been able to do what I need to do while I’m here, walk where I need to go, and do my workouts without any threat of muscle spasm.
I have to give 5 stars to anyone who treats a one-​time customer so well. Stephen knew from our phone conversation that he’d never see me again after this visit, yet he treated me like I was a valued, long-​time customer.

The massage felt great but the service was off.
I bought two groupons for me and my girlfriend which are both good for an $ 88 dollar massage. I went online to book and there was an option for a couples massage for $ 175. Awesome, the two groupons would cover the cost of the couples massage, which is just two single massage prices anyways.
But wait.
Upon finishing our massage and redeeming our groupons i was hit with a $ 20 dollar set up charge. What? I figured i missed something in the online appointment small print or the groupon small print so i looked and there was nothing about a $ 20 dollar set up fee. We called and asked what the charge was for and it was to move the other massage table into the room…
They asked us if we were told about the charge or not and we said no, it wasnt written anywhere and i was not emailed about the charge prior. Regardless they apologized but the correct customer service response would be to not charge the customer for the fee when its listed no where on their website.
Really the cost of the couples massage needs to be $ 195 if they are going charge you for a «Set up Fee,» after its all done with.
Sadly this really bothered me afterwards and put a damper on the relaxed feel i had.
Also the person working on me played this wooden flute thing at the end which sounded awesome and relaxing, BUT he had really strong coffee/​cigarette breathe and was blowing that shit right in my face. Bleah

Kelly was a phenomenal therapist. I scooted in last minute with a very unhappy spasming back and booked a 90 minute session on faith. I just moved and so I’m trying to rebuild my network of providers I trust and I’m so glad I found this place. The guy manning the phone (Scott) was great and very friendly. He gave me a ton of information about their auto-​debit membership program and other offerings without being pushy or high pressure. It’s a wonderful deal and I’m definitely going to see if I can swing it. Their website is under construction so there’s not much info about their therapists, but the store is beautiful and smells great so I’d recommend stopping in or calling for details. As for Kelly, she looked young and petite so I wasn’t sure how much experience she would have but I was blown away by her skill and strength. She was very communicative and gave me a tremendous deep tissue massage with a lot of much needed trigger points. I used to run a massage studio and if she had interviewed with me I’d have hired her in a heartbeat. Her pressure was consistently strong, she checked in regularly, and she really made a difference in my pain. Her technique was awesome and my hips and glutes were thoroughly addressed to help release my low back pain and tightness. She gave me good info during the massage about what was happening with my body and good tips about self-​care. All in all it was a great experience and I will be back. Thanks Scott and Kelly!

Just experienced a deep tissue massage with Gerome. He did an amazing job, I feel wonderful. He incorporated some energy work, which was just the touch I needed. I will definitely be returning to this facility for future work.

Patrecia (sp?) was awesome. I had a 90 minute Thai style massage. It was incredibly relaxing. Like the most relaxed I’ve ever been while receiving a massage. Everything was in sync and I felt so balanced. She took her time with every movement and stretch and penetrated all of the targeted penetration points with perfect pressure. The ambiance of this place is so peaceful. Good vibes. Go see her.

I had the body scrub and facial combo with kelly and it was AMAZING! The Grashna treatment is a dry scrub and it was very stimulating. My whole body tingled afterwards and then the body oil made my skin so soft. Kelly really has a nice touch with her facials. Perfect pressure, lots of good smelling things and she was very educated about the products and about skin biology and all that science stuff behind skin health. I would totally go back!

I am so happy I came here! I bought a Groupon while I was visiting my daughter in Portland and she had the Thai massage, I had the facial with body exfoliation.
Lovely atmosphere, very relaxing. Stephen helped me on the phone and he could not have been more accommodating, he even offered to move some other clients around to fit our schedules. So very nice!
My daughter really liked her massage, it was her first Thai. It’s different from your traditional deep tissue. You keep your clothes on. The therapists rolls on you, or something like that. I have not had one. Ha!
My facial was top notch! I LOVED IT SO MUCH! It was FANTASTIC! It could not have been any better! Great, great, great!
I felt completely pampered!
The only reason I am giving 4 stars and not 5 is because I did not get my body exfoliated. That’s my fault because we got lost and were about 15 min. late but I felt like she should have stayed and done the exfoliation anyway. She did offer to do it when we were coming back the next day but it was not the same because I was scheduled for a spray tan the next morning so the exfoliation was very needed that night. There was also a little mixup with the payment but Stephen immediately took care of that the next day and credited my card back.
All in all we ended up having to cancel our next day that night and tried to reschedule for Monday but they are closed on Monday.
But it was overall a good experience and our services were top notch! We could not have had any nicer people or a happier place to be to end our day. When we left we were more relaxed, felt better, looked better and were happier. What more could anyone ask for?

First time in the shop because my girlfriend bought me a massage for Valentines day. Im incredibly impressed. The building is beautiful, and setup very nicely, the front desk attendant was extremely kind and considerate. Made great conversation as I waited for my LMT to arrive. They offer a TON of different services, much more than I expected when walking in for the first time. My Massage was done by Jerome. He sat me down after filling out the paperwork and we discussed in detail exactly what i wanted (which im a tough customer typically with some medical issues) i specifically asked for help with Myofascial release as im currently a bodybuilder in prep phase and need to make more room for growth while still pushing out lactic acid. He knew exactly what to do and where to target. I felt like superman after. Thanks Jerome! I’ll be back for sure.

Just finished having a facial with Kelly. It was amazing! Very relaxing and felt amazing! Will be going back for another.

Admittedly, at the end of my first massage with Emi, I was not 100% in the relaxation zone. I was totally thinking of when I could schedule for next time around. Never thought that an hour downtown could feel like it could last forever nor that I would necessarily want it to, and I had used a recently bought Groupon. I serendipitously got the open slot right after a different type of therapy session I had in the building and I can’t sing the praises of this studio enough. Totally left on a cloud.
Everyone was extremely sweet and asked for a lot of input on favorite techniques as well as the needs of the day. (Which was relaxation, so really I got exactly what I wanted and then some.) I felt that the intake form was especially intuitive. Apparently I should have spent those last few moments breathing deeply after all because there was a second session special and I of course banked more massage minutes as soon as the offer was extended. Looking forward to it and hopefully many more!

Had a groupon deal for 60 minute relaxation massage for both my husband and myself. When I called to make appts, the gentleman answering first told me they were booked solid, then gave me about 14 different time slot options. Um, yeah.
We arrived and it’s a typical small new age type place. They made us fill out paperwork and then talked to us about what we wanted. Both the hubs and I said specifically we wanted relaxing gentle massages. And we did not want pressure point massages. I also mentioned that I had a back injury that made me tender. My therapist told me point blank that he only did pressure points and he’d be gentle.
Started off massage under the blankets and it was ok. Gentle enough. then they started the real massage. Pain. Pain. PAIN! I was wincing and tensing up the whole time and told him to stop more than once and he just did his thing anyway.
Afterward he had the audacity to tell me I needed more deep tissue massages to help with the knots in my neck (which I probably got while he was trying to bend my neck at unnatural angles) and should come back soon. Yeah. Right.
Paying the remaining bill (they upsold us an extra 15 minutes each) was awkward like the guy didn’t know what to do with cash. Two days later both my hubs and I are so sore we can barely move. I am very very disappointed. I wish I could scream at them that it would be helpful to LISTEN TO THE CLIENT and if they say they want a gentle massage then do a gentle massage. Don’t bother with this place. Go to a stall in the Saturday market and you’ll get a better rubdown.

I have been in twice for Thai massage. The woman who did my massages is very skilled and conscientious. Did a great job. The people doing the scheduling were friendly and very flexible in scheduling, making things workout. However, I cannot give five stars because the space for Thai massage is far from desirable. It’s in an open area with a couple screens that don’t entirely provide privacy. You can hear people talking, moving around, doing business as the area is open to the reception area. The first time I went in was a Sunday and it was quiet and peaceful. The second time was a weekday late afternoon, and it was noisy. While I was receiving my massage, an employee walked into the space where we were and started digging through a cabinet that was located just beyond the head of the mat I was lying on. I couldn’t believe it. Additionally, they played music that was not only distracting, but irritating. It was not relaxing massage music, and it was loud. The temperature was frigid, and I came out more tense than when I went in, despite having a good massage. I won’t be going back. Thai massage is expensive. It should be a pleasant, relaxing, therapeutic experience. So sad to report I was disappointed on all scores because of the environment and won’t be going back. They do have a room where they do other types of massage, and that might be fine, but a semi-​public massage in a noisy, cold room is not a value for my money.

Ever since I moved to Portland, I’ve been on the lookout for Thai Massage (for those new to Thai Massage — you wear comfy clothes, and the therapist stretches you on a mat on the floor, in almost yoga-​like poses). So glad to have found Scott at the Eyem studio! I really appreciated his approach of taking it as far as the muscles allow — so he can get deep into the muscle but it’s not unbearably painful.
In addition to Scott, there is a team of talented holistic health therapists, with services like massage, acupuncture, facials, etc. The studio offers a monthly plan for regular treatments, which is a great deal, so I am very excited to check out the other services! Plus — there is easy online scheduling!
Lastly, there is a shop with nice body and health products, like essential oils.
