1. It is unethical for me to solicit testimonials from my clients

Since you may decide to return to counseling with me at a later date, I do not request testimonials from people who have ended counseling with me.

2. Unlike other business owners who may respond to their Yelp reviews, as a counselor, I must provide confidentiality to my clients. This means I am restricted from responding in any way that acknowledges whether someone has been in my care. Thus, I do not intend to respond to any reviews.

3. I hope that if we work together, we can discuss your feelings about our work directly and in person. This may not always feel comfortable, but the discussion of positive and negative reactions to our process can be an important part of counseling sessions. If it is simply a matter of poor fit, I’m always happy to help you find a counselor who is a better match.

4. If you still choose to write something about my practice on Yelp, remember that this is a public forum.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has worked with teens and children for over 20 years at various stages of development. I strongly believe in a young person’s ability to learn and adapt to challenges in their lives. I also believe young people and families can benefit from counseling and coaching to reach their goals and full potential. I always start from a place of acceptance and try to identify strengths and solutions that match the individual or family’s situation.
