Eclipse the Salon

I just moved and in search of a hair stylist and super nervous. I called them because they had such great reviews. I called and left a message and got a call back the next day. I was telling the gentleman what I wanted done and told him I thought about putting some purple in it. He pauses and says, «I don’t do that. I only do pretty hair.» Excuse me?! I’m not looking to have my whole head purple, I’m wanting some on the underneath and some highlights. Nothing major. Obviously this man doesn’t know how to be a well balanced hairstylist and do tasteful looking hair! Two, you just don’t say that. Say, «oh I’m sorry, we don’t do coloring here.» But don’t make it sound that unusual color choices aren’t pretty. You sir obviously need to further your education and learn.

Yuki is amazing. I have short hair and she does a great job and is precise. She just colored, highlighted, and cut my hair and I have gotten so many compliments. She is the best!

I had an oopsie on my ombré hair color, and found Ms. Tracey to help me out. Not only did she take her time and care in repairing the damage, she made it even better!!! Bright red is not an easy color to pull off on Asian hair, but she did it! Thank you Tracey for your kindness and help in making my hair color vision come to life. =)

Tracey is excellent. She is professional and knowledgeable and keeps up with what’s new. I have followed her through 2 salon changes since 1996. My husband and daughter get their haircuts from her also. I have had haircuts, a perm, updos, and a color weave that I kept for about a year. She did a great job on all. In particular, she carefully layered the red in my weave and varied it just enough to keep it looking natural. She gives a nice head massage and keeps the atmosphere pleasant. I look forward to my hair cut day because my wavy/​out of control hair always looks great, and I feel better.

My lovely girlfriend got me a skin care session with Missy for Christmas (thanks baby!). Between Missy’s sweet Loos’iana drawl and stellar music choices, I was lulled into a beautiful dream world of skin care sountracked with the best acoustic guitar ballads of the early nineties. (She offered to change the music based on my preferences, but as it happens I like acoustic guitar ballads – win/​win!) On a more serious note, Missy explained to me the basic principles of skin care so that I knew how to best take care of my skin after I left. She’s extremely knowledgeable about the science of skin care and I felt comfortable in the hands of a professional. My skin is SO smooth now that I can’t stop touching my face. Literally. I can’t. stop. It’s baby’s-butt smooth. I’ve not personally touched a baby’s butt, but I am assured that they are, in fact, quite smooth. Bottom line: Missy is great. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ will go again.

Ask for William. I have been with him through 3 salon changes in the last 7 years and I will follow him wherever he goes.
He is flawless with corrective color. Has done incredible work with my blonde transition from dark brown, to red, and back to brown again. He has saved me from horrific dye jobs at sub par salons or even friends that wanted to experiment on me. He and his scissors are ONE.
If anything can be said about him as a stylist is his unique ability to give you an outstanding look no matter what your hair type is. My haircuts from him are quite literally perfect, and they grow out nicely too. (Much to his chagrin because he wants me in here more often!) But it is a credit to his experience and talent.
I have recommended countless friends, relatives and strangers to him that most often stop me in grocery stores to ask who does my color. And just because of that, I keep a stack of his cards in my wallet.
I wouldn’t trust my hair, my permanent accessory, to anyone other than him. And I can’t leave out, that after he does my blowout and I walk out those doors, I always strut down to Pioneer Place with a swagger like you’ve never seen.

William is brilliant. Best highlight and cut of my life. He took the time for a lenghty consultation and cut my hair to shape my face and suite my lifestyle.

William does magic with hair. I have short, thick curly hair and a cut that both looks fantastic immediately and still looks equally great several weeks later has eluded me for years. I’m on my seventh or eighth cut with him and each one has been phenomenal. He has years of top salon experience in California and his knowledge, expertise, and versatility shows in his work. Portland is lucky to have him — go, and you will be, too!

Sunny is the best! After have terrible experiences for years in my hometown, I decided to give Sunny a try. I now drive a total of six hours so that Sunny can style my hair, and have done so for the past three years. As a result, many of my friends are now loyal clients, as well. Along with amazing cut, color and style, Sunny also offers a great deal of education to her clients in regards to management and style techniques. She also has a great personality. I’d offer Sunny my highest recommendation.

Go see Sadie at Eclipse for a wonderful haircut and hair color expertise. Sadie has done my hair for years. I have thick, blond-​highlighted hair. Over the years, it has been from chin length to below shoulder length and Sadie has masterfully styled and colored it at all phases. She has given me a sassy bob to svelte, straightened long locks. Most importantly, she listens and delivers the haircut you ask for, but is also great at making suggestions if you want a change but are not sure what type of change. She is easy to be around and intuitive about both chatting and letting me enjoy quiet magazine time. As a bonus, she is a total bibliophile and always has great suggestions for good books. I highly recommend her.

I’ve been seeing William at this salon since I moved here from CO! I was super nervous at 1^st but William really listened to everything I wanted. I have an extreme A-​line cut and its hard to find a good stylist but William was up for the challenge and did an amazing job! I recently changed my color from blonde to red and he did an AMAZING job! So far I have received tons of compliments and I couldn’t be happier! If you want a great stylist and an amazing colorist then go to William!

I saw Missy the new skin guru at Eclipse and had a hydroderm facial. It’s like a microdermabrasion, but it also adds special serums depending on your skin needs while the procedure is being done. I basically followed Missy to Eclipse because she has done my facials before. Let me tell you she is AMAZING!!! Talk about someone who is passionate about skin. I have great skin, (because I follow Missy’s advice!) but have had issues with these dry areas around my nose. Missy went out of her way to go home and do research, diagnose what she thinks is the problem and go over extensively exactly what I need to do to take care of the problem. Now that is service. Trust me on this one, your skin is going to be in good hands with Missy. She was born to do what she is doing. Also a side note she has amazing brilliant skin herself and that to me is an immediate sign that she can be trusted. Would you ever go to a hair stylist that had wretched hair? No! She truly cares about your skin and will do everything possible to make it right, because as she has said to me numerous times, «You only get one face!»

I’ve been seeing Sadie for my hair cut and color and have been amazed at her talent each time. I originally saw her for color correction after dying my hair jet black for a year. I wanted to go back to my regular red.
After a consultation I scheduled the appointment and everything turned out perfect while maintaining the integrity and health of my hair.
I see Sadie every 8 weeks or so and she has had fantastic ideas as I grow my hair from very short to shoulder length. She’s given me cuts that have style and sassiness while I went through the dreaded growing out nothing looks good phase.

Sunny is AMAZING!!! She’s great with all hair types (I have hard to manage curly hair and she’s the only one I’ve ever found who can cut it so it doesn’t get frizzy or look ridiculous), and she really knows what she’s talking about. The best thing about Sunny is that while she’s already the best, she continues to learn new techniques and stay on the cutting edge. She’s great with cuts and colors, and is a perfectionist with hairstyles. She also knows how to highlight hair so the highlights grow out looking normal and well-​blended, meaning that I have to spend less money on highlights than if I went to someone whose technique wasn’t as good as Sunny’s.

I highly recommend Denise Gordon for skin care treatments — she is the best! After her skin care treatments I always get compliments on how great my skin looks. She uses Dermalogica products, and she always has good samples for take home and try. My skin looks so much better now and I leave feeling relaxed and refreshed.
