Dimitri’s Auto Service

I could not be happier with the service Dimitri has provided for my BMW. He came recommended to me by the dealership I purchased the car from in Portland. I’ve had him fix a wheel bearing, repair my car for the smog test, as well as fix a mis-​fire and spark plug issue. He always goes out of his way to answer the phone and can usually see me same day when something goes wrong. I trust him with all of my family’s cars.

Glad I trusted these reviews. He fixed my car and told me my next steps for an affordable price!

It’s so nice to know there is an honest auto mechanic right here in Milwaukie, Oregon! My «Check Engine Soon» light was on and I made up my mind I was NOT going to take my 2002 Trailblazer to the dealership to hear more lies about all the things that supposedly needed fixing. I took it to the dealer 2 years ago for an oil change and was informed then that I needed new brakes. HA! I’m still driving around with the same old brakes and had Dimitri check them 2 weeks ago when I took the car in to him. Guess what? The brakes are fine — what a shock! ;) I found Dimitri online while looking for an auto mechanic in the Milwaukie area. I checked several of them out on Unilocal and Dimitri had the most glowing reviews. He is such a personable, knowledgeable and honest guy… sort of restored my faith in humankind, if you know what I mean! I took some of his cards when I picked up the car and am handing them out to all my friends along with my own «glowing reviews!» As Girl O says, «he rocks!»

Called Demitri from down the street when I was buying a used car. I wanted to get a pre-​purchase inspection. He stayed open late on a Friday night just to look at the car. Charged a quarter of what other shops were asking for and walked me through the whole inspection explaining everything. Very honest and trustworthy. I will take all my car issues to Demitri.

Dimitri is the best! I’ve been bringing my car to him for about two years now. He came recommended to me by Tom Storm at Auto Body Technology and I could not be happier. He is everything other reviewers have said — straightforward and honest! I would recommend him in a heartbeat!

I’m almost scared to write this review as I love having him available when I need him — but he’s saved my @ss too many times that I can’t ignore how great and honest this guy is. So I’ve decided not to remain selfish in keeping him all to myself.
I’ve even taken my friends from California and Washington there when they’ve had problems on the road — and he gives them the same rates and the same level of service. He rocks!
From Oil changes, to major mechanical issues — Dimitri has been there for me on my Toyota 4-​runner, Landcruiser, Subaru, VW Beetle… I can’t recommend him enough.

Reliable, honest and affordable. I’ve had Dimitri work on a few of my cars. He does what needs to be done at the price he quotes you on. His work holds up, and your car will be happy :) I’m a guy that likes to turn a wrench myself so its hard for me to pay someone else to do the work I can do, but I have full confidence and trust in Dimitri’s abilities and professionalism to do honest work. Save yourself the hassle and just use Dimitri the first time!

I was taking my Subaru Outback to a «Suby Specialist» in town who spent over a year trying to figure out my idling problem, unsuccessfully. Took Dimitri under 10 minutes to diagnose it and about a half a day to fix it. Brought it back two weeks later to replace blown head gaskets and he did the work on-​time and for what he quoted me. He even worked the weekend to help me get back in it quickly as we are a one car family… thanks Dimitri! Finally… a mechanic I can trust to take care of my vehicle and treat me fairly.

Got an oil change there based on the other reviewer and they did a good job. I wasn’t offered any extra crap I didn’t need. I will go back but remember to make an appointment first next time.

Dimitri’s Rules.
I have been taking my old (200k miles and still rolling) Toyota to Dimitri for 4 years, and the previous owner took it to him for a year prior to that.
What you get: high quality, honest service at a reasonable and competitive price. Dimitri is trustworthy and doesn’t tell you a bunch of crap to get you to spend money you don’t have. I take my car to him exclusively for oil changes even though it costs me a few bucks more than the Jiffy places because he notices things and tells me if he sees anything whack going on. His familiarity with my vehicle and oil change «look-​sees» have gone a long way toward keeping me on the road and not stuck somewhere in the dark waiting for a tow truck.
I have found two great mechanics in my life, Sandpiper Auto in Eugene and now Dimitri. Prior to finding Dimitri though there was a 10 year gap in there filled with incompetent, rude, and sometimes just plain dishonest and cash gouging service providers. Thank god for Dimiitri’s Downtown Auto.
