After many years of caring for his community, Dr. Ronald Sommer retired and chose Dr. Dianne Applegate to take great care of of his patients.

Hideously expensive. Unnecessarily rude service. They don’t seem to care about whether you are a patient of their practice or not. Dr. Sommer was great. Once Dr. Applegate took over his practice it all went downhill. Shop around. You will find that almost any dentist in Portland has better prices.

Dr. Applegate and her staff are by far the most enjoyable that I have ever worked with. From the text reminders for appointments, easy insurance process and clean and upbeat atmosphere, her practice is one to try out! I have worked with several different hygienists over the last year and a half since switching to her office and each one of them remembers who I am and is so kind thought the entire appointment. It is refreshing to look forward to getting cleanings compared to unpleasant experiences in the past. All in all, if your looking for a new dentist in the area or a switch from your current practice, Dr. Applegate is really worth checking out!

Just got back from my third visit with Dr. Applegate and I still have nothing but great things to say about the entire office. Every staff member I have worked with has been kind and friendly. I use insurance and all of my claims have been timely and correct. The office is bright, clean and up to date with all of the latest technology. I love the text message appointment confirmation and reminders – very helpful! Looking forward to seeing everyone again in 6 months!

Who likes going to the dentist? I DO!
Thanks to Dr. Applegate and her amazing staff. She shows me (on the X-​ray) which teeth we are watching so I can focus on them with my home care routine. It really helps!
Since I don’t have insurance, they work with me to schedule cleanings, exams and X-​rays so I can afford it. My hygienist is friendly, fast and highly skilled. If you’re looking for a new dentist I can definitely recommend Dr. Applegate.

I couldn’t agree more with K.F. Dr. Sommer and his staff was exceptional. I’ve had nothing but problems with Dr. Applegate and her staff. Billing is especially challenging. They can never quite explain why the bill is so high or whether primary or secondary insurance has paid already. Their billing system is extremely confusing to the client. In addition, her she and her staff have made multiple «mistakes» with my husbands, daughters, and myself. I could explain them, but it would take forever. Take my word for it, go somewhere else. She is no Dr. Sommer!

Dr. Applegate is the kindest dentist I have ever been too! She is so gentle and caring. She doesn’t try to «convince» you on unnecessary work, which has happened to me in the past.
My hygienist was the best! I didn’t even feel the gum measurements which NEVER happens.
The front desk was very helpful when I called and seemed very organized.
I will be going to Dr. Applegate for a very long time!
