Davidsons is a very clean well kept restaurant were you can chill and eat a really good meal with awesome desserts and have it be inexpensive, I really enjoy going their and getting a good burger but their are what seems like endless choices of breakfast lunch/dinner and amazing desserts. I definitely recommended this restaurant!

Just moved to the area so we thought we would try the food we’ve been hearing so much about. Ordered the food to go from a very nice lady named Dawn, who remembered that I said the soup was for my daughter’s lunch the next day and packed it up perfectly for her. That kind of service will always bring us back! We had the chicken chimichanga, chicken Verde enchiladas, the clam chowder, and a piece of the French silk pie. The chowder was to die for! Mexican food was plentiful and fresh. The French silk pie doesn’t seem like the norm because it is very thick and rich but was good nevertheless. Can’t wait to try their weekly specials.

Where should I start. 10 minutes to get coffee, 15min to get food in a half full restaurant while hearing the staff say how crazy it is right now. Got my plate of food then waited 3 or so minutes to get toast. So yeah crap food crap service last time here.

They have really good salads, actually. The décor is very casual, unless you have a booth, you are having intimate conversation with the people around you. The place is clean. The customers are definitely on the elderly side, bring your patients. Service has always been very good. Really, my only complaint is that the prices are very high. Bannings is very similar in terms of décor. They also has exceptional salads and home made pie, but the prices are much better.

Super-friendly staff. We’ve only been here for breakfast — which has been delicious both times. If you’re looking for comfort food, this is the spot. Hopefully next time I’ll save room for dessert — the strawberry shortcake at the next table looked amazing.

I go to Davidson’s probably once a week for breakfast on weekend mornings because I live next door and am often too hungover to cook myself eggs. This place has the BEST breakfast ranging from eggs and bacon to cinnamon roll french toast(which my boyfriend lives for.) Admittedly, their scrambled eggs aren’t the best, but their over medium eggs are on point. Fun fact: you can get coffee to go for no extra charge if you order coffee with your meal.

My first day in Oregon visiting my cousins, we stopped here for breakfast. I ordered the Create-Your-Own Omelet($ 7.95 + $ 0.90 for add-ons). There were some good choices for ingredients – although I wish they had a poultry option. Nonetheless, I got it with mushrooms, spinach, Swiss cheese, and green pepper. The omelet came out full of flavor and the eggs were buttery too! It came with a good sized side of hash browns, which were exceptional. They make their own root beer. When I asked about it, our waitress provided a free sample. It was similar to A&W – very creamy. My girlfriend and I split the cinnamon roll, which was amazing! It had a homemade feel to it – without that fake frosting taste. My only complaint is the price for the omelet add-ons. 90 cents is okay for sausage or bacon or ham, but not for things like spinach, mushrooms, or tomatoes. The servers were friendly, and the atmosphere was quaint. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town.

I went into Davidson’s a coupla weeks ago to use a gift certificate I’d received. I noticed it was busy as there was a couple sitting to my right and a coupla gentlemen standing to my left. I walked in and made eye contact with the hostess(Dawn or something like that.) Apparently she thought I was going to complain about the wait, but I was only going to suggest she help the folks waiting to my left first… BUT, she didn’t wait for me to speak and immediately snapped at me: «I KNOWYOU’REWAITING! HE’S WAITING, SHE’S WAITING, THEY’REWAITING, WE’REBUSYASYOUCANSEE!» I stood there and raised my eyebrows and said«Whoa, really?» She was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I thought to myself, «why are you working here if you can’t handle the pressure?» She came back and gave a halfway apology after everyone was seated but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Everyone is allowed a bad day, but you don’t take it out on customers. You smile and deal with it. These people pay your wages. The pie was good, the sandwich was okay and I doubt I’ll go back. There are too many other good places to eat in the neighborhood. Sanchez or Wu’s Open Kitchen. Hell, I’d rather have a sandwich from Safeway — they’re NICE!

We love Davidson’s. They offer family style fare in a relaxed and comfortable setting. The food is high quality, excellent taste, and cost effective. Try the pie. After breakfast? Why not? Life is short.

Had a quick soup supper before a play at Broadway Rose and had a great bowl of navy bean soup just like my grandmother used to make! I was thrilled to find it. Plan to go back when in the area. Thanks for the memories!

I was in the mood to be disappointed by food, so I went looking for a non-chain diner. Davidson’s Casual Dining is casual all right: casual on cleanliness, casual on quality. My order came with a side salad, and after sending back my wilted, expired salad, my boyfriend(who had an excellent view of the kitchen) watched the staff go through FOUR tubs of salad before I heard our waitress call back to «look in the back for the fresher stuff.» My boyfriend watched his sandwich sit for 15 minutes, and was served lukewarm. Meanwhile, never thought drying the floor with newspaper was up to the health code, but I’m sure the newspaper provider loves printing out free drying material.

Finally, with anticipation, my husband and I had time to make Davidson’s our breakfast destination. I usually do not give negative reviews but here I struggled to give even two stars… only because my Egg Benedict was good, but it was most we had ever spent on Eggs Benedict… anywhere. One young gal greeted us right away and took us to our table. Another lady asked if we would like coffee. My husband regular… and decaf for me, which had to be brewed. Great, fresh coffee. Neither of these ladies was our server. He came not to long after my husband got his coffee. We placed our order and I was still waiting for my decaf. The other lady must of not told him I was waiting for decaf. After some time my husband had to ask if it was ready. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and two eggs over easy and sourdough toast. I couldn’t tell that it was sourdough bread. Very plain and tasteless. My husband who is pretty happy with any meal could not finish his breakfast. At least half was left. We honestly never had such a tasteless and bland meal. Now if we were at a retirement home where some residents can not have salt or spices I would understand. The Chicken Fried Steak had no flavor, neither did the breading. The gravy was if you boil water with flour and then you get a tasteless paste to bind books. I know this because my mom bound antique books and as I kid I knew what that tasted like. Hey, it was cooking on the stove, had to try it. The only difference was, this ‘gravy’ had pepper, the book paste did not. Not sure if something went terribly wrong in the kitchen or if this was their recipe. I do not think it was delivered by Sysco because they offer much better products. My husband was asked about his breakfast so he shrugged his shoulders, said it was ok. After clearing the table, our server came back with our bill and said that the coffee was taken off the bill since my husband did not care for his breakfast. Rather would pay full price for a good meal. I do not think we will be back.

Have been here a few times since arriving in Portland. Very low key and old school, good diner style food, but a little too casual. Today we arrived and were promptly seated and forgotten. There is a waiter, who waited on us that’s time we were there, who appears to be ‘burnt out’. He was focused everywhere but on us. He was overwhelmed last time with 2 tables, today there was a party of six and that must have sent him over the edge. That said there was no management oversight. So we sat for 15 minutes until we watched people seated after us getting orders taken. We got up and left. Went down the street to Elmer’s and we’re sure we had food before we’d have ever gotten it at Davidson’s. We mentioned the confused waiter to the manager the last time we were there, clearly his last name is either Davidson or they just don’t care anymore. Oh well, we won’t be back.

Came here for breakfast while we were in town for a wedding. I had been here once before a few years ago, it’s definitely an oldie-but-goodie diner.(Lots of older clientele, with good home made food). I got a mushroom, spinach, and swiss omelette, it was devoured. If it was possible I would have tried a million other things like the cinnamon buns I always eye while I’m here, but I was sadly(and happily) full. Definitely a great place with friendly people if you’re looking for something with that home cooked feeling to it.

Lovely diner/casual dining place. Stopped in here for a late breakfast while getting my car detailed at United Carwash. The ladies/waitress/hostess were all friendly, and the place has a nice vibe. Service was slow, and coffee didn’t really get refilled in a timely manner. The coffee itself is the light roast easy drinking profile one expects in this sort of establishment. The food quantity to dollar ratio is high, and no way could I finish the meal. I had the ranchera omelette special with the verde sauce. Rich and tasty. The boxed hash browns were limp and blah, the English muffin ok. I’d come again if getting my car cleaned nearby or for some other errand. Clean and well lit. Well done!

My husband and I decided to try Davidsons for the first time this morning. We’ve lived just a few miles away for a few years now. Instead of going to one of our normal breakfast places we decided to give Davidsons a go. ITWAS A HORRIBLEIDEA. First off its Tuesday and the restaurant was not all that busy like you would expect for a Tuesday morning/early afternoon. It seemed alright at first. We where sat right away at a nice enough table and although it was not all that busy we waited 15 minuets for someone to even come to our table and ask if we wanted something besides water to drink and that someone was the host that sat us. Finally we ordered our food and received our drinks. After another more standard wait for the food to be cooked we received our breakfast. I ordered the Cinnamon roll French Toast with 1 Egg and sausage and My husband got the breakfast burito. Let’s just say that the food was not up to par. My french toast tasted stale and old and I was not a happy camper. After the long wait and the subpar food all I wanted to do was leave. I didn’t give them a second chance to make something else because my husband was not impressed by his meal eaither. The only hilight to this place in my opinion is the Home brewed Root beer by far it was the best thing I tasted at this place.

The place isn’t much to look at. The sign advertised family dining and eggs Benedict which intrigued me on a hungry Satursay morning after martial arts practice. Great basic food. My son opted for a burger which was well prepared. Good eggs Benedict which really surprised me. They have tex mex basics(burritos etc.) and breakfast all day. I’ll go back.

This place is a solid«A-OK.» This place is stuck a few decades in the past but that does not make it bad. It’s a solid choice for a semi-quick meal with family and friends. I was surprised at how busy it was at 2pm on a Sunday. Soup is made from scratch daily and you can tell. Not too salty and and a good consistency. Sandwiches are not creative but they don’t skimp on meat and the bread is VERY fresh. I left very happy from my meal. My mom was very impressed with the Burrito. Service was very nice which added to the feel of the family-friendly restaurant. Summary: family style restaurant serving up comfort food favorites. Notes: accessible entrance, level entry
