Established in 1975.

Custom Cedar Products inc. started business as a installation company servicing general contractors in the Portland Metro area. It has evolved into a Cedar fencing and decking material supplier only. 95% of the Cedar is milled here on location, we control the grade.

I have spent 30 years of in the fencing and decking business. Mostly as a installation contractor. Loved the interaction with the customer along, with the fast paced 2 – 3 day on the job action. Those days are behind me. Custom Cedar Products Inc. is a Cedar lumber mill and retail Cedar lumber yard. We no longer offer fence and deck installations. Although, we do have a great referral list of contractors. I look forward to counter interaction with customers, listening to stories, and maybe lending useful information from past experience.

These guys are awesome. They have the best quality cedar in the city. Their inventory is huge. Dwayne and Chris are knowledgeable and very helpful. Their prices are great and they deliver. They’ve been in the industry for decades. Their website is great. Forget about the the big box home repair stores. This is the way to go.

For the Portland market, they are top notch. Very straightforward, they deliver a good product for a good price and are easy to work with. I sometimes buy in large quantities, and have tried getting even a bit lower price by having truckloads drop shipped from afar, but when something goes wrong, you’re in a world of hurt, and believe me, things go wrong. Buying local from a reputable source such as Custom Cedar products is well worth it.

Custom Cedar products is awesome! I had a project that they assisted me with. I am not «Bob Villa» so I needed a little extra help. Chris at Custom Cedar Products helped me with planning, selecting the right materials and even delivered to the construction site.

Last spring, the wife and I were convinced that THIS would finally be the year that we planted a vegetable garden. We were set on building a raised planting bed, but were also set on avoiding pressure treated boards with traces of arsenic. So… cedar or redwood it was.
Unimpressed by the selection at the big box stores (Lowe’s didn’t even have cedar), I called a few lumber yards and fencing suppliers before deciding that Custom Cedar Products appeared to have the best combination of quality lumber and competitive prices. Even over the phone, the customer service was great. They helped me find an economical grade of lumber that was right for the job, a good quality board with cosmetic defects on one side.
When we arrived at the yard, we were promptly greeted and they quickly loaded our (borrowed) truck. We didn’t need any cutting done, but they definitely had equipment on site to customize an order. We will return to Custom Cedar Products for future projects and I recommend them without hesitation.
