We bought our Honda Elite 110 from Reynolds Motorsports. It was out third scooter in two years. Why? Because we received no guidance as to what scooter was really best for what we wanted to do… So now, we are getting ready to buy another scooter because the 110cc is not enough for two, with gear trying to hold a steady 50 – 55 on the state highways — especially in the summer when impatient tourists do crazy things to get passed you.
We also bought our helmets there, which was an exciting adventure… «here try this… does it feel good?.. okay that’s probably what you need.»
After we started riding, we learned about Cumberland County Scooters and met Darrell and Carrie.
The difference between the two shops is the difference between December and July. At CCS the attitude is «try it, try it again, then try it once more» but. only after you’ve been grilled about what you want, what you need, what you’re looking to do… in short, you get guided toward THE correct purchase…
I had my 9,000 mile service at Reynolds. (Had to. It’s under warranty). Almost $ 300 bucks and they DIDN’T change my air filter (every 3,000 miles please), transbox oil, or do anything other than change the oil, my plug, and «adjust the valves». My handbrake still doesn’t work, and the hand levers are vastly out of sync (one with little play, the other with 3″ of play).
I bought new tires at CCS — finally able to give some business to good folks. Darrel spent at least 3-​hours changing the tires out, adjusting the brakes, cleaning the various parts that either came undone, and/​or became exposed; then rode tested, didn’t like some sound, looked and played some more then road tested and then, and only then, handed me my keys. The Charge? A fraction over the cost of the tires.
To my mind’s eye, this kind of service can’t be easily found, and once it is, one should hang on to that company because you just can’t find the likes of them hardly anymore.
If you’re looking for good service AND fair prices in the scooter or motorcycle field, Cumberland can’t be beat.

if you’re looking for a scooter, or scooter/​motorcycle service, this is the place to go! Honest and reliable! very fair repair/​labor charges, and absolutely stand by what they sell. Have bought two scooters here because of how honest they were when I brought in my little Yamaha C3.
It kept stalling out, was well out of warrantee, so figured I had to bite the bullet. They diagnosed the problem to be a faulty fuel something-​or-​other, I didn’t listen that closely — was more interested in what it was going to cost me — which was upwards of 450.00. Then, they told me Yamaha knew about this problem, but never did a recall as not many models were impacted, but if I called them, they would probably send the parts and cover the repair costs.
Cumberland County Choppers knew at that time Yamaha would not cover the cost unless I took it to an authorized Yamaha dealer. .. took my business elsewhere that is.. . I felt very awkward about doing that, but they not only encouraged me, they even coordinated the authorized dealer to come pick it up. I would never have known this, and paid out the 450.00 thinking I had no other option. .. talk about honesty!
I love this place, owners Carrie and her husband Darell are great!
