College Housing Northwest is a not-​for-​profit organization that provides housing and services to post-​secondary students in the Portland, OR area. In addition to providing convenient, affordable student housing at below-​market rates, we also offer a wide range of support services, including free campus shuttles, counseling referrals, and financial guidance. Our properties are clean, comfortable, and secure. All our buildings have on-​site resident ambassadors and council representatives, plus student-​directed activities, events, forums, and resources. Our mission is to create dynamic living and learning environments that help students to achieve their goals, both academic and personal.

College Housing Northwest is different from other property management companies in that it’s non-​profit, cares deeply for the residents and their well-​being, and listens to resident concerns and suggestions. I lived in the Goose Hollow Plaza for over a year and felt that it was a great alternative to other options downtown. I had my own apartment and not just a dorm room, I wasn’t paying an arm and a leg to live near PSU, and CHNW had on-​site employees, fun events, and a community resource center.
The only problems I found was that at times it can get loud, but this is true of every apartment complex filled with college students. In the case where it was too loud a Resident Ambassador would respond and take care of the issue. However, this is outweighed by the lower priced rents and the staff’s care and concern for the residents.

The leasing office of CHNW has moved to 1604 SW Clay.
This is a great option for anyone in school. CHNW is a nonprofit and is mandated to keep their rents low and their service high while keeping an eye on sustainability. Unfortunately due to their low prices and superior service, they are almost always filled. Last I checked the waiting list had almost 100 people on it. However many of those people drop off the list as they find other living accommodations while waiting.
They have smaller, older buildings closer to the PSU campus and the large buildings in Goose Hollow where the leasing office is located. The Goose Hollow Plaza is their flagship living/​learning facility.
