Chill Ice Cream Shop

There is nothing quite like a perfect hand-​packed scoop of ice cream. There are all the standard flavors, you wont find salted caramel smoked chipotle raspberry, but the chocolate peanut butter is crave worthy. Nice to know that Umpqua ice cream uses milk from local family farms. Simple, good, and great service.

So I’ve tried the ice cream cake and it was di-​vine. One more star for Chill.

I completely disagree with Anna A — this ice cream is nothing like what you get out of a tub at Safeway. It’s a little pricey but oh man, yum!

I can’t tell you how dissapointed I was showing up here after a sweaty hot bike ride. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the truth is:
Plain. Boring. Old. Overpriced. Ice Cream.
It’s basically the stuff you can get in cartons for $ 3.29 next door at Safeway. Why would I want one scoop of artificially flavored strawberry ice cream for $ 3.99 that tastes like ice burn paper tub when I can just go next door and gulp down a diet ginger ale and get a fancy pint of fresh homeopathic strawb gelato for the exact same price minus the sticky tables and crying kids.
Woodstock needs a cute ice cream shop and this is definitely not it!

This spot has been an ice cream shop for many years but Chill has made it much cozier with their new décor. The ice cream is delish (lots of cone choices) and the service is good. Bit pricey at $ 3 for a single scoop but the scoop is big and tastes so refreshing I find myself justifying it every time we stop in.

It’s like an adult version of Baskin Robbins. I don’t know why I say that. It’s not like kids aren’t welcome, and it’s not like adults can’t go to Baskin Robbins, but…
In true Portland fashion, I’ve grown accustomed to reading Gelato Aficionado and eating a lot of fancy flavors (just plain lavendar honey, thank you, but do you happen to have maple bacon?). I even have my own ice cream maker and have made a Pix-​inspired basil ice cream from basil grown from seed in my own back yard. Decadent. DIY. Over the top. So Portland.
But Chill! Chill is a blast from my mid-​80s suburban past. BIG scoops on sugar cones and waffle cones of Pralines ‘n’ Cream, Rocky Road, Mint Chocolate Chip — did I even spy a Bubble Gum?
And they have ice cream cakes and a Birthday Club, where you don’t even have to be under the age of 12 to get a free scoop on your special day.
It’s perfect. Now that summer pretends like it’s going to stay, Chill lets me pretend that I’m a school kid on summer break, chasing big ice cream chunks down the side of the cone with my tongue as they relentlessly choose, instead, to drip down my shirt. I’m in heaven.

It’s wonderful to finally have a good ice cream spot in Woodstock. Before Chill arrived, I always biked over to Sellwood.
They serve Umpqua ice cream, as well as another couple of brands that I’m forgetting at the moment. The selection is decent and of course, there’s a variety of style options from the classic sundaes to frozen yogurt choices and ice cream cakes.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEE Ice-​Cream in Any Weather!
Its really hard to find an ice-​cream business that carries a variety of ice-​cream & yogurt and this place has one of THE BEST selection in town! The new owners and staff are extremely friendly and patience, which i love because i normally have tons of questions and i always want many samples before i make my final selection.
The place has all kinds of selections and features. It has ice cream, sundaes, frozen yogurt, ice cream cakes (made to order) & sorbet. You can have your frozen goodies in their amazing waffle, sugar cones or in a dish. Their milk shakes are extremely thick and their portions are huge!
I love how they are open late and they carry some of my childhood favorites! The best part about it is they provide you with FREE coffee and newspaper to read if you decide you wanna just relax and savor your frozen delight. Its a cute place to share with your love ones and relax.
I definitely would recommend this place to anyone! I just love their selections and great customer service!!!
