We are excited to announce the opening of Parkview Memory Care at CherryWood Village. At Parkview, we offer personalized care in a unique home-like setting. Our «memory centers» are specially designed to help engage residents with Alzheimer’s and dementia and access their long-term memories. Manager

I was born in Mexico City, where I was fortunate enough to grow up learning both German and Spanish. I later attended German School where I also learned English. I had the opportunity to attend college in the US, and I have lived here ever since.

About twelve years ago, I was invited to join the incredible staff at CherryWood Village. I have been the Executive Director here for the last seven years. It is my supreme privilege to work with seniors and enhance their lives on a daily basis.

My mother lived at Parkview Memory Care at Cherrywood Village, 10 721 SE Cherry Blossom Dr., and while the care staff was excellent and very caring, the administrator, Julianne, and LPN, Colleen, left much to be desired.
Julianne & Colleen were both notified by my mother’s Senior Helper (an individual that visits my mother on a regular, 3 times a week, basis) that something was not right with my mother one morning, that she was acting/responding significantly different than normal.
Julianne did not even bother to follow up on the Senior Helper’s concern and check on my mother & Colleen, when she finally made it to my mother’s room, dismissed the Senior Helper’s concern and conducted no assessment or evaluation whatsoever of my mother.
Since the people who were paid to oversee my mother’s well being did nothing the Senior Helper called my sister who had to leave work and drive cross town to look in on my mother.
When my sister arrived at Parkview Memory Care and saw my mother my sister knew immediately that my mother had suffered a stroke and immediately called 911.
The fire department and ambulance arrived to care for and transport my mother to the hospital where it was confirmed my mother had in fact suffered a major stroke.
Precious time was wasted because the administrator, Julianne, and LPN, Colleen, choose not to perform their duties responsibly and do the job they were getting paid to do.
I urge anyone, if you truly care for your loved ones, to look elsewhere and find a place that puts the care and concern for your loved ones as priority number one and not something to be taken lightly, or as in my mother’s case, completely dismissed.

I am a visitor here monday –friday because I work across the street and they have a
coffee shop with Stumptown Coffee and I LOVE COFFEE.
The people who work here are always really really nice and welcoming.
It is a very lovely place, if your loved one is seeking a retirement community, consider this fine place.
I love that they have a town car, yes a towncar! Now you can cruise out to the casinos or bingo in style.
Other things they have here are;

*A Bank
*Full gym and pool
*Movie theater
*Barbershop
*A Culinary Chef
*Coffee Shop with Ice Cream.
*Mini Gulf.
From what I see everyday, people are happy here and everyone deserves to be happy.

My grandmother has lived here for over 10 years and loves it… as do I! It’s always clean, smells good, grounds are well kept and so many amenities. Everyone (staff) has always been so accommodating and gracious. It’s like a mini city… so much to do here, never a dull moment.

Most residents at CWV live in one of four buildings connected with enclosed bridges, all leading to the Village Square & Grill. This way there is NO problem with inclement weather. This is an important benefit for me.
Because the Grill also serves the public, which is unusual, I believe the daily menu is much larger and more varied than what is served at other retirement communities.
I’m here to stay.

I lived in CWV for 6 ½ years in the Assisted Living section. I was always treated with the utmost of respect & so was my family. If I had any problems, I took them to the manager and we worked them out. I loved all the residents there & made many friends. I also loved most of the staff, who become dear friends. I enjoyed activities that I was able to participate in such as Bingo, Watercolor Painting, singing in the choir, drawing, card making, knitting, etc. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. Prior to this, I lived for 3 ½ years in a different Generations facility & enjoyed it also, until they sold it & I moved to CWV.

Personally, I think a decent independent living «facility» is like a dorm without homework.
My inlaws have lived here for just over 2 years. They are happy as clams, and we’ve been impressed every time we visit. The facility is new and clean. Their rent includes light housekeeping — including the laundering of linens and making up the bed.
The dining room is restaurant style and (supposedly) open to the public. I can’t imagine eating here unless I was visiting for other reasons, but the food is actually yummy! Today I had a flat iron steak, complete with soup, beverage and dessert for $ 12.95.
I’m 43 now… but hold a spot for me, Cherrywood!
