I work very near Chefi’s Gourmet.
Por Que No puts up some serious competition. People who don’t have to drive across town/​into Portland to find «autentico» Mexican food know that this little trailer, with it’s $ 1.50 tacos, is muy sabrosa. Plus, it’s from a lady from Oaxaca. If I were to give Chefi’s gourmet some advice, it would be WORK ON YOUR BRANDING. Or don’t, and leave the 25 minute wait to the people that had to find a parking spot.

I ate there today after i got off work cause i didnt wanna cook when i got home to watch a movie
so…
as i drove by the color stood out! aha
i went for it… why not?
anyway i had their bomb mole enchiladas!
and like three chicken tacos!
guess the guy above me never had actual hand made mexican tortillas. sorry to hear that!
bt as soon as i got home i forgot to ask for salsa!
bt omg let me tell you it was worth goin thru there i didnt need any salsa!
i will be goin bak many more times!
plus the lady was really nice!

If that’s what you’re looking for you’re in luck.
I went here b/​c I didn’t want to drive to division for our normal taco cart haunt. Unfortunately these tacos are sub par — I need to find some more taco carts nearby :-)
The tortillas were microwaved. Amazing since they have a grill the meat is cooked on, why not warm up the tortillas on it? I also saw the cook grab a plastic picnic spoon out of a container of something, rinse it off and give it to me with some salsa to put on my tacos.
The taco itself was mediocre. The flavor was like something I might cook at home (and I’m no cook — ask my wife) and the tortilla was chewy (likely from being microwaved). The tomatoes were fresh and the tomatillo salsa decent.
We sampled one taco — then went over to Williams st and ate at cha cha cha. ..
