Care Medical Equipment

I’ve bought walkers & walker equipment here. They seem pretty nice and helpful, for the most part, but… A lot of their staff aren’t the brightest Crayons in the box. If you order anything don’t expect them to call you. I ordered a walker basket and they said they would call when it was in. And eventually I had to call them. The woman that I talked to laughed, when she said that they hadn’t called.
Update: As I found out today, when one of the legs fell off my walker, Care Medical is now run by Norco Medical. It may be an improvement. They did put a screw in, to hold the leg on. We’ll see if they actually call me tomorrow, when the rollator that *might* work for me comes in.

Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE. I cannot discourage you enough! Do not go here, period. Not for a scooter, a cane, or even a band-​aid. Got a distinctive feel of «bait-​and-​switch» and fraudulent tactics… read on.

Thursday, 8−18−11: In the store to purchase a mobility scooter. Spoke to a sales rep named Rose. Was told a price for a scooter and that it would be available sometime during the weekend. They were actively checking on the phone with their «Seattle store» to see if they had the scooter in stock, they claimed yes and that it would be shipped down for pickup during the weekend. Stated price: $ 2700.00 (purported cash discount).
Saturday, 8−20−11: I called them (they didn’t have the courtesy to call us) for an update. Was told that the scooter wasn’t available after all and that they were, instead, trying to get one from their «warehouse» — to be delivered at the disabled person’s residence on Friday 8−26−11. We accepted.
Thursday, 8−25−11: We again called to get an update. Was told the scooter was still not available (you either have it or you don’t… its a 3-​wheeled, 500lb capacity MOBILITY SCOOTER for crying out loud)!! Once again, they couldn’t call us to let us know beforehand… Was told that it might be another **10 days** before we could get the model in question. They offered another, larger, heavier, scooter at a price 300 dollars higher ($ 3000.00) which was available in store.
They knew a trust was paying for the scooter for a disabled person. I got the distinctive feeling they were just trying to squeeze more money out of the deal.
In short:
Won’t deliver on their promises. Won’t uphold their agreements. WILL try to screw you out of your intended product and «up-​sell» you for more profit.
FRAUDSTERS. BAIT-​AND-​SWITCH PRACTICED HERE. BEWARE!
