Canyon Property Management

I recently rented one of their properties. Ive lived here 3 weeks and have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. I waited almost 2 months for this apartment. Was blatantly lied to repeatedly by the mngmt and the property. Because of being treated so poorly and spoken to so hatefully, among other serious issues, i called the property management co. A week ago to try and discuss this serious situation as well as get some closure so i can move on with my life. (At this point we havent even moved furniture in and im going to have to pay a 350 $ storage fee again.) ive yet to hear back from said mngmt co. Its been a week. I was told by one of the ladies in the apt. Office they are doing an investigation. How can you when you refuse to speak to us? No. I guess we can deal with the people at the apt. Who cant wait to get away from you when you try to talk with them and speak to you in a disgusting manor. And obviously involve you in their crazy office drama.
I apologize for just wanting to live in peace. Pay my rent. Be happy and maintain the apartment. I guess im a bad person for that.
Now i wish we had taken one of the other places we were approved at which we could have moved into weeks earlier.
I do not recommend this property mngmt co at all. They very obviously do not care about the tenants as well as not caring about resolving issues.
We were told by the manager at the property we could move with no penalty but wasn’t given that in writing. And im not that stupid. Id end up getting sued in court for breaking my lease. And Why should i move? Whos going to pay me for my expenses? No-​one. I shouldn’t have to move. I should be treated with respect and not yelled at or talked down to by their employees. A disgusting situation all around. And when theres an issue and you need help resolving it, you should be able to rely on the property management co. Otherwise whats the point of having a property management co. To dictate notices? I guess im under the wrong assumption of what their purpose is.
I won’t be here past my lease end date. Its be a nightmare and its only been 3 weeks. Thank you for speaking to us and hearing our end and trying to make things right. Not.
The only thing theyve done right is hire an amazing maintenance guy, issac. He at least knows his job! And is super fabulous.
Adding! 3 weeks here. My entire life turned upside down as i now have to wait 9 – 5 DAILY for repair baloney that should have been done before we moved into this filth. This weekend we discovered the heater doesnt work. Absurd. Still no call back from mngmt co. If we had a place to take our family we would be gone in minutes. So sad. Holes in almost all the doors which none match. Told to deal with it since they are in a refi and not putting $ into property. I should have been told id be moving into a crap hole that nothing would be done too before i paid my 300 $!!! I should have moved to one of the other places we were approved at. And approved at the highest regard and lowest deposit! Ive never regretted anything So much. I could go on all day but you get the hint. Beware of any place this mngmt co. Deals with. I recently moved into apartment 16 at Mt pleasant apartments I love the community. I was instantly welcomed by other tenants and management is top notch. There was a recent change to the head property manager and he is competent, kind, and is quickly getting the complex turned around to meet Canyon properties high standards they maintain for thier tenants. The wooded Park like setting with private backyards and functional, traditional 60’s floor plan helps to add to the charm. Mt pleasant apartments is as close to single family home living as it gets. The complex is full of kids and families. On top of being well ran snd maintained the staff has made sure to keep the complex a safe place. I feel completely safe to go out at night and walk to the parking lot or sleep with my windows open.

I have lived in these apartment buildings for over 10 years, I’ve seen a lot of up-​and-​down but lately seen the new management and see what they’re willing to do to make these apartments awesome only makes me want to live here longer

This company has really improved, I’ve rented from them back in 2010 with a negative experience with a certain property manager at the stark location, now am renting in scappoose area and couldn’t be happier, maintenance requests are completed almost instantaneous, the property manager couldn’t be more understanding and compassionate, I had a problem with trying to pay my rent and called the corporate office and to my surprise got everything sorted out quickly which was a relief, all my questions were answered and they took the time to figure things out for me without feeling like I was being rushed to get off the phone, a completely different experience since 2010, thank you! The property is beautiful and well maintained, I am glad to call this home.

Saw ad online. Responded via email. Conversed with Gail (see previous Rachel M review). Discovered undisclosed pet rent. Asked if it was negotiable in larger pet deposit. I requested: «no reply necessary if not». Somehow I still got a smug passive-​agressive email response,” just as regular rent is not refundable, neither is pet rent” 1^st, I did not ask for a reply, 2^nd By this logic, Just as I pay my rent, so do does my pet. Too bad fluffy is unemployed.

I emailed the manager at SE 27^th and Stark. (Gail, see previous review) She revealed there was a lofty pet rent was NOT mentioned in their ad. I asked if it would be refundable or negotiable in a larger deposit. (knowing full well probably not as the rental market is dire) and told her «no reply necessary if not.» Well she found it necessary to be smug and email me anyways: «just as regular rent is not refundable, neither is pet rent.» Well by that logic, just as I work to pay my rent, so too does my pet. Oh wait, he doesn’t have a job!

Can I take back my star??? WORST COMPANY EVER!!!
They misrepresented everything when I went to see 27 East Apartments (Se 27^th and Stark) then told me the girl got fired for her errors and asked if i felt better. Uh, no!
They have rediculous deposits and the lease terms make you responsible for EVERYTHING from cleaning blinds, windows (inside and out), and carpets. (I move in because I was running out of time and it was month to month). Exorbanant pet fee of $ 300 non refundable for a cat.
Upon move in the oven didnt work (took 2.5 weeks to fix), and the hot water was off and took 3 days to work. I was told by the super condescending apartment manager (gail) to «Just heat some water on the stove, and wash my ‘nitty bits’». Gross.
Anyway upon move out she found an excuse to take my entire deposit after only 8 months of tenenacy and anal retentive cleaning on the part of my roommate and I.
BEWARE!!! Do not trust these people. BAD BAD BAD!
