This place was NOT good! The service was horrible and the food was mediocre at best! The décor was very dated. I would never recommend this place!

I stayed at an Airbnb right across the street from this restaurant and when I googled them and realized how kid friendly they were I had to stop by. There is a full size cadillac inside the restaurant. It was a Sunday morning and we were able to find parking right out in front and we were seated right away. Try finding that anywhere else in Portland on a weekend. I have waiting in a line for over an hour at other places, the speed of service here was pretty mind-blowing. We ordered our drinks, we were served very quickly. We ordered our food, we were served very quickly. The food was actually way better then I thought it was going to be, the bacon was so good. My only complaint was the prices seemed a little weird. For two adults and one child our total was 42 bucks. They charged us $ 2.50 for a tiny cup of chocolate milk for my daughter, $ 4.00 for a glass of grapefruit juice. That seems a little pricey to me. I know the prices are on the menu but you don’t expect drinks to be that much, most places they are much cheaper then that. I will definitely come back again but next time I will pay more attention to the prices.

Sweet place to dine with loved ones on a Sunday morning. I got the breakfast burrito which they customized to my liking by taking out the eggs and adding in some spinach. The orange juice was nice and tangy, and the various flavors of mocha stole the show! I tasted the berry compote atop my sweetie’s French custard toast, and Mmmm! That was good too.

Solid 3 – 3.5 stars. The enchiladas were quite cheesy and the chicken had an interesting spice in the mole sauce — was it nutmeg? The highlight was the salsa on the side. It had a hint of alcohol, perhaps whiskey? Very yummy. Had a White Wall milkshake — mint oreo. Skip it. Disappointedly tasteless and no mint flavor at all. I heard the toast was very good, especially the sourdough.

Great, delicious and relaxing. Staff was pleasant and accommodating. Our server was jovial and helpful. The venue was clean and decorated well. Bathrooms were clean and smelled like an old lady’s perfume– per my daughters experience. Ordered the eggless hash– no toast or cheese with one poached egg, kids pancake, Hazelnut custard French toast breakfast with ham, and the last dish was two eggs and chicken sausage with marbled rye. Food was fantastic, well made and presentation was spot on. Definitely on the list when in the area.

Very good breakfast, pretty standard choices. Excellent service. Prices seem a little high for what they offer in my opinion. Cool atmosphere, very roomy, there’s a beautiful pink Cadillac parked inside!

Cute café! Great place to stop for brunch. A bit pricey, but not bad for the atmosphere and food. Good people watching spot also. give it a try! Their marbled rye toast is awesome :)

Fantastic service and makes you feel welcome! I’m picky about my food and they’re very accommodating with my orders. Sometimes there is a false wait, but the staff is friendly and makes up for it. Especially Bryan for keeping my glass of tea full when I drink it down every 12 seconds. Best part of Cadillac Café! Also, try their pancakes!

Used to eat here a lot years ago when they were new. Tried breakfast today after many years. Restaurant not full but service was very slow and wait staff looked tired and disinterested. Food service took way too long considering it was just breakfast which is a pretty fast meal to prepare. The guy next to us was served first after being seated much later then us! I asked him how he got his food so fast! Did he call in his order? Nope! Weird. Food finally arrived after many cups of coffee. «Custardy» French toast was not custardy, Sausage was not hot, in fact the whole plate of food could have been hotter. Partners plate delivered without the poached egg, which arrived shortly. We figured they screwed up on the first poaching try and that is why my food was cold. Won’t go here again! Where has all the good food gone?

I came here one Tuesday late morning for a celebratory breakfast with some co workers. I have heard so much about this restaurant from people in the neighborhood I guess I expected it to be amazing. While it was really good, I just thought there could have been more personality to the décor of the restaurant. They have a pretty awesome Cadillac behind a garage door inside, its unfortunate that you cant see more of the car! Our waiter was absolutely amazing. I must say, he was so friendly, clearly very busy but took time to get into detail and really made us feel that we were being listened to. I appreciated that. I had an omelette and a grapefruit mimosa. The mimosa was so good! Definitely a must try. The omelette was very well made. I had the fruit instead of potatoes, there could have been maybe some different fruit in there to make it more enjoyable but the omelette made up for it.

A tasty breakfast and pleasant service, though it did take a little longer than expected for my waiter to come by and offer coffee at 9:30 on a fairly peaceful Monday morning. The place is well maintained — late ‘80s revival of early ‘30s deco, complete with pink walls a «Miami Vice» Don Johnson would fit right in with plus a secondary room with fireplace — but it does seem a little pricey for what you get. In my case, it was a 3-egg omelette with spinach, bacon, and cheese plus Cadillac potatoes(fancy name for home fries with paprika) and an English muffin; add in coffee and it somehow came to over $ 15.00 before tip. Overall, it was a perfectly acceptable, if predictable, breakfast but not a place I would add to my «must go» list when next I visit the Rose City.

Great atmosphere. You really get transported back to the 1950s. This place has more breakfast foods than dinner foods it’s a great place to bet a late breakfast or an early brunch. The service was quick and plentiful. I would go back again.

Great. Try their specialty hot chocolates… really tasty. Bacon is thick and good. We all had some of the hazelnut crusted French toast. It didn’t disappoint. Everything was executed to a nicely satisfying standard. Loved the feel and décor of the diner too. Would go back again for sure.

French custard toast is TODIEFOR! Menu is huge and they have seasonal menus that change very frequently. Only problem is food takes a long time and customer service can be less than average.

A very straight-forward, decidedly unhip diner spot. And I mean that in the best way possible. This place feels like an authentic, old school diner and not a restaurant with a «old school diner» theme. Sometimes you just want breakfast, not a morning-time dining experience. Cadillac Café serves just basic breakfast goodness, without a ton of pomp and circumstance, and they do it well. I had steak and eggs, which were pretty tasty and my breakfast date had a delicious omelette. Our waitress seemed spread a bit thin, but it wasn’t really a big deal. She was certainly quite friendly, even if my coffee did sit empty once or twice. Our food took a while, but it was pretty busy. It wasn’t unreasonable, i just want to note that this isn’t a place for a quick in-and-out breakfast. The menu had a number of offerings that I look forward to trying in the future. I’ll certainly be back again. PS — bonus points for incredibly cool wallpaper in the men’s room.

So I have to start with the disclaimer, I’ve been a customer of the Rod and Terry’s Cadillac Café for the past 20 years. Before they were in their big space, I went to their little space ! «Use to be a standard fav of my family!» Yesterday, I took my son and my friend to a late breakfast at the Cadillac, our server Peter was phenomenal he was very courteous had lots of information for us and Quick and efficient about getting our drinks order and so forth. My son and I both decided to order the steak and eggs, he ordered his medium well, I ordered mine medium rare. My friend ordered the macaroni and cheese. I also ordered a side of bacon and I wanted my eggs to be without any dairy so no Gorgonzola. I have to say that I was absolutely shocked at the quality of food that came out of the kitchen my food was cold my sons potatoes were cold my steak was cooked but it looked like it sat out for 20 minutes and it was cold. like you could pick it up and it felt cold. The steak was as well tuff and wasn’t nice and steamy! The potatoes were barely room temperature, my friends mac & cheese was just horrible and of course Peter sent it back. Maybe three minutes later my «plate » came back piping hot and the potatoes were still cold the steak was still cold and he brought me a side of fresh potatoes that were very warm. I was told unfortunately the quality of the food has recessed since Rod and Teri sold this place in February. Well I guess that’s the problem, when you have owners that are in the building hands-on watching what takes place every day it makes a huge difference in the quality of your business. Just remember nobody loves your business the way you do. Nor will they take care of it the way you will, that is if you really care! You know I can almost handle mediocre service if the food is just absolutely phenomenal and melts in your mouth. However, this today made me never want to return to this restaurant. I’m so disappointed at the new owners they have let the quality go in the toilet, they need to get a line cook that knows what the hell they’re doing, pay the money for a great chef to run that kitchen! You have a diamond in your hand and you’re turning it into a river rock ! Get it together, because Portlanders we know what good breakfast taste like and we know the quality that we’ve had for over 20 years at the Cadillac Café. I digress

Love this place. Fabulous neighborhood place. Good food; good service. I usually come in for breakfast. I have loved their French toast. They also do a very good omelette. I always include their apple sausage. I suspect I will have many more good meals.

We live in beaverton and this used to be our go to weekend breakfast stop. However, the food has become unreliable lately. Sometimes great, sometimes not so much. The service is still great and we still return often because we enjoy the atmosphere and the servers. Just wish they would get more reliable cooks. I think someone needs to be watching them.

Drinks were great. Catfish was horrible and way overdone we could barely cut through the breading. Barely ate any of it. Upset stomachs less than an hour later. Server asked if I was done because it was mostly still in the plate. I said it was far from great and he just took it away. Medium rare steak was very rare. Server brought water and drinks but never asked how the food was. I guess he could tell. Potatoes obviously made hours prior. Bread was fresh and the eggs cooked nicely. Was excited to hit it up. Not worth the line up. I got this message below a few weeks ago and replied to it. I haven’t heard anything back. Likely posted just to make it look like they follow up but really they just waisted more of my time. Guess it’s just the Cadillac way!

Street parking is always questionable on Broadway, but I got lucky for once. The atmosphere is great, the service is congenial. Many folks were waiting to get seated which I hoped was an indicator that the food be great. Nope. Meh. I had the Steak and Eggs. It was supposed to be a 6 oz steak, I ordered it rare… at best it was 4 ounces. They also cut in slices. No thank you! This made the meat cold when it was served. There was a funky rub on it not mentioned on the menu. The French Toast, was described as French«custard» Toast. Erm. So, I kinda expected it to be «custardy.» That’s a word, GTS. I will say the bacon was perfect! Thick and super crispy. YUM. I won’t likely be back, but it doesn’t need me, they appear to have many fans.

We arrived Sunday morning around 10.30 am and were told the wait would be «in the fifteen minute range.» We were shown to a table at 11.10 am and served at 11.45 am but to be fair, the place was packed. Let’s talk about flavor. I ordered eggs benedict. The hollandaise sauce was actually just melted cheese. A mild cheddar but not too bad. The eggs were nicely poached. The thinly-sliced ham had no discernable flavor. The English muffin was a sodden mass that easily fought off my butter knife with a sly smile. Along with the eggs, potatoes(probably boiled) were served that had been briefly sautéed in a dry rub of chili and peppers that mimicked the flavor of Doritos to perfection. And finally — the coup de gras: a wacking great hunk of banana bread. So if a meal of cheesy eggs, Doritos and banna bread sounds tasty — you’re home. Otherwise, keep moving. BTW — the coffe is flavored with chicory which is fine unless of course you prefer coffee to taste like, well, coffee.

This is mine and my partner’s absolute favorite breakfast spot! We go there almost every weekend. The food is delicious. I love trying the weekly specials. The place has some of the BEST wait staff. We always feel so welcome and cared for. The Mac and Cheese with steak is BOMB!

Nice little breakfast place. We had the breakfast the day before at the hotel(ugh… powdered eggs, and such). So anything would be a step up, but this was a HUGE step up. Good service(coffee always filled), and good food. Would go back if I was in the neighbourhood in a heartbeat.

Fantastic place! The server was very friendly and everything on the Bunkhouse plate was delicious. We were in search of a true hearty breakfast and this was the perfect place to go. The Oregonian and The Irvington(coffee drinks) were also delicious. No complaints here and we’ll definitely return!

Great experience — the breakfast service here was fast and my waitress was very personable. I asked her opinion on a few dishes and she recommended the bacon and eggs combo, mainly because she said the bacon was delicious. Sure enough, the bacon was super tasty, and they had this smoked chipotle Tabasco sauce that went very well with the eggs. The only weak point was that the toast was slightly soggy. It still tasted lovely with the raspberry jam, though. They also had a shiny antique Cadillac inside the place which, in combination with the Christmas decorations at the time, made for a classic, quaint environment. Will definitely stop by again.

Nice place, good food. Clearly making a nostalgia diner play, and it shows in the enthusiasm of the older clientele. At 11:30 on a Tuesday more than half the tables were occupied, and there is a lot of seating space. My omelette and potatoes were very tasty — cool to see they have salmon and eggs and catfish and eggs on the menu, too. Beware: biscuits and gravy are no longer on the menu. Very sad. My only real beef is that my coffee cup sat empty for three or four minutes once before my waitress got back around to checking on me again. A fairly minor offense. Maybe not where I would bring a hipster on a date, but if my grandfather was visiting, this is absolutely where I would take him for breakfast. Just the right combination of high quality and comfortable familiarity. And if I was in the neighborhood, I’d happily pop in to try the lunch menu.

Cadillac café is the place to take your parents and children or other large group. The food is good, nothing spectacular. The space has a sort of forgotten in time, last remodeled in 1971 feel to it. The service par for the course in Portland, that is to say lack luster. Large portions of decent food, the pancakes I have had were better than thinks like the scramble plate. Eggs scrambles are heavy and appear to lack an appreciation for proper scramble preparation. The potatoes lack luster. If you need to take your fussy parents and your inlaws and/or children out to Brunch, Cadillac may be your best option.

My guy and I came here today for the first time. I had heard this place was pretty good, so we gave it a shot. I wasn’t impressed at all. First of all, there were a ton of empty tables and the host wanted to seat us at the worst 2 person table ever. I get that you need to reserve them for larger parties, but trust me, not one of those 3 or 4 tops filled up in the hour we were there, so I know my request to be moved to a larger table wasn’t insane. Our server was fantastic, forgot to get his name. Shorter guy with glasses. Super friendly and attentive! I got a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. My guy got the pork chop special. Both of us were not pleased with our food. It’s expensive and the quality is crap. The only thing I enjoyed was the toast. My eggs were overcooked, my bacon was almost pure fat, the potatoes tasted like they were a day old; super dry. My guy said his pork chops lacked flavor. And they were tiny! All of this mess and it took over 20 minutes to get. You’d think for that wait and price, the food would at least be fresh and tasty. Disappointment for sure. The table next to us had their food delivered and one of the customers said, «Oh wow, that was fast.» the server replied with, «yeah, our potatoes are already cooked so there’s not a lot of prep to do, we just plate your food right up.» Well then… guess that’s why our potatoes tasted old. Definitely not worth coming back. Waste of $ 30.

After looking at the reviews, some friends and I decided to eat at the Cadillac Café for breakfast while on a road trip. The Bunkhouse Vittles breakfast was absolutely amazing! The potatoes were well seasoned, I got my meal with poached eggs so the combo was perfect! The french toast was so tasty, I didn’t even use syrup… the photos definitely don’t do it justice! I paired my breakfast with a Pear Mimosa which was for sure one of a kind and a must when coming to this place. And I won’t forget to add, the service was great! Servers were very attentive without being overbearing. I would highly recommend stopping in for breakfast!

Holy mother of breakfast, Cadillac Café has got it goin’ on. I’ve been meaning to check it out for awhile, and wish I’d gotten around to it sooner, breakfast is my favorite meal to go out for. I had gone into CC having already looked at the menu and having a plan for what I’d get, then they had to take breakfast to the next level with the most amazing special I’d ever had. Get ready for this: Custard french toast with a café mocha drizzle, hazelnuts and MARSHMALLOWCREAM. The latter has had a soft spot in my heart since I was little, and why didn’t I think of putting in things other than holiday desserts before?! My food was incredible, and my dining partners really enjoyed theirs too. Service was pretty fast and friendly. It wasn’t busy at all on this particular Saturday morning(although it was relatively«early» in my world — 8:30ish — I had to be somewhere by 9:30 otherwise I’d still have been sleeping at that time). I love that they have a great selection of boozy breakfast drinks too. There’s really no better way to start the day than boozy coffee and marshmallow cream-covered french toast. Just kick back and enjoy the food coma. I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other offerings, as I suspect I’d be able to give them 5 stars if they were that incredible again.

Enjoyed Cadillac Café. The food was excellent! I had the Bunkhouse Vittles which was a good sampling of their breakfast. Forget what my wife had but she really enjoyed it. Her smoothie was tasty as well. They do not have a kid’s menu– which is a bit odd but were able to put something together that worked for our son. My only complaint is it took 20 minutes to receive our check after finishing. The kid and I went outside to wait because he was ready to go but even with just my wife at the table and plates covered with napkins, they still didn’t get the point. My wife finally was able to flag down our server.
