Bushwhacker Cider Woodlawn

Excited to have their NoPo location open. Incredible selection of ciders on tap as well as a couple solid beers for the husband. Everything that I’ve tried on their menu has been great — from a salmon sandwich to their artichoke soup — all excellent. Guys behind the bar are super personable and knowledgeable. It’s become a favorite spot to grab lunch.

Great food, fantastic selection of rotating NW ciders. Also a small selection of Apple wines and liquors. Can be spendy, but worth it if you’re a cider geek.

Just went in and the place is under new management and has a new stuff on the menu. Such a great place. The food is wonderful and cider choices are so broad.

Hands down, this is my favorite pub. Bushwhacker’s rotating taplist (12 ciders!) provides unbeatable diversity for cider junkies. Nice cocktails and pommeau selection. Bottled ciders and 32 or 64 oz. growler fills are available. Too lazy to walk to HiWheel? You might be in luck, I see it on tap here frequently.
The menu is smallish, but the food is fantastic. My favorites are the deviled eggs (different every day or two), the house-​smoked pulled pork sandwich on GF bread, the BLT&E, the cider-​braised bratwurst, and the cottage pie.
This is a great location for families, groups, dates, or a night out by yourself. When it’s warm enough, they open the windows and a wonderful breeze rolls through. They have board games and puzzles as well as a few classic arcade games. While they have a TV, for the most part they play cider commercials. It’s really, really nice not to have TVs blaring. Also nice: clean bathrooms.
I’m saving the best for last, though — I love the staff! They’re really personable people, and it’s nice that they remember me (kitchen staff too). I always feel very well-​treated here. Please come in and give them a lot of money. :)

A really nice cider bar in WoodLawn. Props to the owners — who were the first Cider Only Bar in the USA on SE 12^th and Powell. They brought this concept over to NE. Part of the Woodlawn Triangle — a burgeoning community of Food, Beer, Coffee, Community and now Cider!
The build out is spacious with wood accents. 12 rotating taps of cider and a couple of beers on draft to appease Portland. I think it’s smart to offer beer.
Their lunch and happy hour are generous and progressive foods. Charcuterie type offerings and their lunch — I had a B.L.T. with Egg. All very well made and savory.
The staff is kind, funloving, and willing to pour tastes and talk about their ciders. It’s welcoming to families and folks of all ages. Bushwhacker does produce their own cider as well. I really like Alice. It’s pretty dry, tart, and quenching.
Outside seating, board games, clean restrooms, high ceilings, video games, taster trays, and wine, too. If you love cider and rare ciders —- try one on draft here or take a bottle home. If you’re lucky, they might be spinning some vinyl, too, when you are here.

If I were just rating the cider, I’d give this place 4 stars. Unfortunately, the music is consistently so terrible, I can’t stand to drink there and end up just patiently waiting for a seat at Breakside across the street. Please please please get a different DJ.

Nice location and nice space, but I’ve been there a few times, and have always had slow service (last time I waited over 5 minutes to get greeted, and after I ordered an app of just mixed nuts, it took another 10 mins for that to come out).
It’s a little over priced for the neighborhood, and for what you get.
I have a sulfite allergy, and when I ask if they know which Ciders are low/​no sulfites, the staff doesn’t know. It’s disappointing for a cider place not to know that, as it’s a fairly common allergy.

I love that a cidery opened in Woodlawn. I’ve been here a handful of times and have always had wonderful service.
As primarily a beer drinker, I don’t know much about cider. But here you can try the taster tray and find some really good ciders. The food is tasty too.

I’ve never been a huge cider fan, but Jeff and the staff at Bushwhackers make it easy to see the art of the beverage. They’re tap list is always diverse with flavor and delicious. I am now a cider fan and inspired by those making it.
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great drinks. Great staff. Great location. Just come here already!

Decently priced, tons of different choices of ciders, & enjoyed the cheese plate. Service was a tad slow/​laid back so don’t go if you’re in a rush.

I’m a big fan of what Bushwhacker’s does best, which is the cider. The location in SE is this refitted garage space packed to the gills with bottled and draft cider. You can find dozens of different variations from different regions, and any price point, from the cheapest Woodchuck to the most lovely of pommeaus.
So, I was really excited for the Woodlawn location, which is far closer than Powell. I was disappointed.
Instead of the laid back industrial vibe and the yards upon yards of coolers, I found a rather antiseptic Portland brewpub experience. There’s maybe one cooler half-​populated with cider, a fairly standard Portland menu (deviled eggs, kale caesar, a veggie burger, the «fancy» mac and cheese). You get the standard twelve pours from the original tasting tray, a pour of the day from pommeau and Spain, and… that’s it. A small selection of tastings of desert ciders are available for significant markups from the bottle.
I’m not sure what this is, but it doesn’t feel, look, or smell like Bushwhacker’s. It feels like a badly themed ripoff.

The food is good, heavy on the pork, but plenty of options. I got the portobello mushroom burger and it was great.
Excellent outside seating, sun or shade and they are SUPER dog friendly, water bowls out and dog treats on the menu.

I’ve been into this new neighborhood spot for cider a few times now, but last night we finally had dinner. Our family loved the food! The roasted Red Pepper soup was so delicious and had a bit of an indian flavor, the BLT& E sandwich was the perfect size and so yummy. Kids plate came with lots of fruit on the side, which we appreciated. So nice to have a new spot to our Woodlawn rotation!

— Very dog-​friendly outside, they gave my pooch a water bowl and a few snack bones. All the staff there liked him. It’s always nice to find another good dog-​friendly place
— Great evening sun-​lite outdoor seating (it will give Breakside across the street a run for its money)
— The Portobello Sandwich (my restaurant litmus test) was pretty good, not soggy, nice buttery crisp bun, good toppings. Perhaps a bit small though — I could have used 25% more.
— Also stole some friends’ Mac-​n-​cheese and salmon sandwich. Both were very good.
— Angled shuffleboard is pretty amazing. I recommend you try it. It allows all friends to stand near each other and play, not to be separated by a 20 foot gameboard.
So yeah, give it a try. I’ll certainly be back.

Since I live in the neighborhood I’d been very anxious for Bushwhackers to open. With other good options on the same block, I was looking forward to another option to eat at. Bushwhacker is definitely different from the others. The menu is full of fresh options, and ones that don’t leave me feeling heavy and greasy afterwards. I’ve been there a number of times and have been happy with everything I’ve gotten.
Their cider selection is amazing and its the best cider I’ve ever had. Most ciders leave me with a headache because they are so sweet and strong, these are not that at all.
So far, I’ve had their shepherds pie (delicious), their mac ‘n cheese (I usually don’t like mac ‘n cheese but this was the best I’ve had-​not very heavy, flavored with rosemary and thyme, had veggies in it), their sweet potato apple soup (the bomb), the Dekum grilled cheese, bulgar salad (yummy), and a few other things I can’t think of. One great thing about their menu is if you avoid gluten, there are good options for you here.
I do agree with others that it is a bit on the pricier side, but it is also really good food. It isn’t cheap greasy pub food, its good quality food that tastes great.
Having a two year old boy who is a picky eater, I especially love their kid’s menu. Again it is pricier than most places, but it is also better food than most places offer for kids. Unlike most places that offer buttered noodles, fried chicken strips, hamburgers, or grilled cheese, Bushwhacker has a selection I’d be happy for my son to eat. He recently finished off the plate of mac ‘n cheese (it was light on cheese sauce but full of flavor, had chopped red peppers and cut up broccoli in it) and the side of broccolini, green beans and cauliflower that came on the side.
I agree with some others that the service is a bit slow and it might be a little confusing when you walk in as to whether you wait to be seated or find your own seat, but its not the end of the world for me.
The manager Casey, and our favorites, Barb, Lucas, and Wade, are really friendly people. We are happy to have them join the neighborhood. Definitely check it ou.

Love the new location and the food offerings — but when you have 12 ciders available on the taster tray — don’t make me do the taster only 1 – 6 or 7 – 12. I’ve had some of these and want to mix it up to taste the new ones.
That’s the idea of a taster.

It is exciting to see Woodlawn grow with so many new restaurants! This Cider house is a great addition to the Dekum triangle and I look forward to visiting more often! Went the other night with my husband and my 2.5year old for dinner but was a bit surprised with their menu. Not the most kid friendly menu– $ 8 for a kids plate which included some cheese, toasted bread, ham and 2 thin slices of apples. Was not impressed :(however, my BLT was to die for and my husband ordered the Salmon sandwich which he loved. Overall, I was hoping to see more «dinner entrees» and appetizers choices…
The cider was really good! I’m curious to see how this place will do in the summer time during their high season as there is not enough seating indoor. I haven’t been here on a Friday/​Saturday but I’m assuming there will be a long wait for tables to clear up.
Can’t wait to come back and play some darts! fun place to visit and have a cider for sure! :)

I have high hopes for this place! I am excited to have a cider seller here to add to our collection of wonderful business owners. At the opening «celebration» yesterday we enjoyed a collection of tasters, at $ 12 for 6 small tasters, the quality matches the price and there were a couple I can’t wait to go back and try as full size pours.
The major thing keeping me from giving a five star review is that though the menu is beautifully curated and delightful, I didn’t find my sweet spot for price vs. size on food, especially with kids in tow (I might have missed a kids menu). I really wanted something inexpensive and small to eat with our taster tray and ended up going with the curried deviled egg ($ 4 for the two halves of one egg, on a dressed bed of arugula) but was looking for something cheap and starchy or savory and filling. The small menu didn’t have exactly what I wanted for an afternoon stop with kids who can’t have the grilled cheese, and I hate to admit that this actually kind of ruined the experience for me.
Bushwhacker seems to be billing itself as child friendly, which is a formula that REALLY works in the Dekum Triangle, and I look forward to seeing how their food menu evolves to meet the needs of this community.
