History

Established in 2006.

Brittle & Brittle was originally formed in Corvallis, Oregon as West Valley Law Group P.C. At that time it had three attorneys: Tim Brittle, Adam Brittle, and Jill Brittle.

Upon the retirement of Tim Brittle, Adam and Jill relocated to their home city of Portland in 2008 and renamed the firm Brittle & Brittle P.C. From its formation, Brittle & Brittle has been a family-​run law firm focusing on accessibility to the law for individuals and small businesses.

We are a Portland, Oregon based law firm practicing in the areas of family law, divorce, victims’ rights advocacy, litigation, personal injury, and estate planning. Our attorneys, Adam Brittle and Jill Brittle, are committed to providing guidance to our clients in what is often a complex maze of the legal world.

Erin Morris did an excellent job on my son’s divorce case, which had some unusual aspects that required a great deal of research and preparation. Erin shepherded him through the process, and was helpful to me as well in aiding my preparation for testifying.
She is very strong on negotiating, but if a case goes to trial, she totally comes through!

I had very little time to prepare for my case when I hired Adam Brittle. Despite the lack of time, Adam did a fantastic job of thoroughly compiling all pertininent information and provided outstanding representation. He was extremely honest about what to expect and walked me through the court proceedings prior to the actual hearing. I felt like he was genuinely advocating for me and his constant communication was extremely helpful. When you meet Adam and Jill you will be surprised and delighted they are so personable. Then you will start worrying that might mean they are going to be walked over by the opposing attorney and law firm. Don’t worry.
I think the world of these two. I met them after I had paid a large top family law firm over $ 325 for a consultation — in which they told me I should settle. I met another who wanted as I recall over $ 10,000 to represent me. Two days later, I met with Jill and Adam totally scared and freaked out. I was surprise they were optimistic about my case. And then they did something I would have never expected. They coached me on how to take care of the case myself and I paid for an hour of their time. The case was dismissed. It was really eye opening. I knew Jill and Adam were more interested in doing the right thing than just making money. Months later I went to court again and placed them on retainer (same party, different issue) and not only was the case dismissed, but I was rewarded court costs and attorney fees. Jill made that happen and laid the ground work early to prepare to ask the court for those fees.
Jill and Adam fight fair and think out of the box regarding arguments. They don’t carelessly spend your money. I always appreciated how they thought about cost saving measures without compromising my situation. I got the impression they just think this way. I have seen Jill Brittle’s petite frame, warm smile, and unassuming personality, handle herself beautifully against high paid, brash, bullying attorneys in depositions and in court. She slowly corners them and they don’t see it coming. Working with the Brittles, you work with kind people that at the end of the process you feel good about knowing and recommending to your friends.
