By chance walking downtown Portland yesterday and came across the Blind Pig Barber. Saw Connor performing a cut. Quickly realised this wasn’t not just a cool, trendy place but was everything you expect from a top class barbers and Connor was a very experienced barber. I straight away made an appointment for later that afternoon. The experience was outstanding and Jaime and Kayla where hugely hospitable to myself and my girlfriend offering a complimentary drink upon arrival. Proceeded to have the best fade cut i have probably ever had from Connor, hugely attentive, personalble and the attention to detail was outstanding. I travel extensively and have had my haircut in Singapore, Houston, New Zealand, UK to name but a few and i rate the experience and cut itself as ’ top notch ‘. I’m in Maine for a month on a sabbatical and i have already rebooked while i’m here. Highly recommend this top establishement and the staff are very, VERY good. This experience/​barbers wouldn’t look out of place in the centre of London. If i lived here full-​time i would be coming here on a regular basis.

I recently went to visit the BPBC after reading the reviews online and having one of my coworkers raving about their experience there last week.
My first impression after walking in the door was amazing. I was greeted warmly by the professional staff and served a single malt scotch on the rocks. Since I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment, I took advantage of their fantastic complimentary message chair.
I then kicked back in the lounge area and sipped my drink while watching a show of my choice on one of their big screen tv’s.
Mallory, one of their amazing stylists or barbers, escorted me to the chair for my cut. Needless to say, my idea of what getting a haircut has been redefined. Not only did my hair come out perfect, the experience was terrifically relaxing!
Kayla refilled my drink towards the end of my service and informed me of a special they are offering for hand details and facials.
Given that I was not in a rush, I took her up on the offer. She was professional and my hands have never been treated so well… And for $ 15, it was a bargain!
Upon leaving I was informed about their membership program, and immediately signed up and booked my next appointment.
Bravo Blind Pig, your hospitality and execution of services are unmatched!

I waited a day to post my review, so as to not just deliver my gut-​shot reaction.
If you are anything like me, you do one of the following things:
1) Don’t bother cutting your hair at all
2) Shave your head at home
3) Go to Supercuts, or some other cheapo haircut establishment
Gentlemen…there is another way! Inspired by Brett McKay, Antonio Centeno, and others of their ilk, I decided it’s time to start acting like a man and get my hair cut by folks who know how to cut men’s hair. Enter the Blind Pig.
I was greeted warmly, my coat was taken upon arrival, and I was offered a drink (alcohol, coffee, water). I was attended to promptly by Jamie, who was fantastic: both in conversation and profession. She analyzed what was going on up top, asked what I was in for today, listened to what I wanted and made some suggestions of her own. She answered my questions and continued to make recommendations throughout the process. This was all worlds beyond Supercuts, where my most recent experience was listening to my racist hairdresser bitch to me about how her brother wont move out of her parents house. The irony that she too lives with her parents was apparently lost on her.
The facility itself is filled with hard dark wood and soft leather — the type of styling I might want to achieve in my own home if my wife didn’t have a say — and you wont find fluorescent lights here. The resulting atmosphere is warm and inviting, despite the fact I’d never step foot in the place before. An opportunity to talk with owners Brian and Justin afterward only reinforced that feeling. These are men that care about the experience of their customers, and are working hard to ensure that the Blind Pig lives up its slogan: «A place for men who want more out of life».
My only regret was that I had shaved that morning, and couldn’t justify the full executive haircut experience. This is the first time I have considered purchasing a membership to a place to get my hair cut. I will be absolutely be a repeat customer. I wish this place had been around for my wedding!

Certainly a great addition to the Portland dining scene. Over the last year the menu has evolved into a wonderful selection of updated French inspired bistro dining. Keep up the good work!

Excellent service from cool people that are warm, welcoming and passionate about their profession. From a regular hair cut to something more involved, I would highly recommend.
A have visited true barbershops in the past but they are very hard to find. When I read about the Blind Pig opening I had been considering changing up my hair style. I am the type of guy that brushes my hair with my hands as quickly as possible so it is a big leap for me to ask a barber to style my hair but The Blind Pig appeared to be the new cool place in town so I gave it a try. I made an appointment online which was very easy to do. When I showed up I was greeted warming and offered water, coffee, beer or wine. I was a few minutes early so I enjoyed some coffee in the lounge area which is very cool. Dimly light, sports on the big screen and huge leather chairs made for a cozy area to wait.
My appointment started on time with Conor who was a very cool in style barber. I showed him pictures of the style I wanted to work towards and he went from there. He had me laughing with the conversation and did a great job on my hair. It will be a pleasure to return to keep working at my new style.

I am not usually into this type of service. When it comes to hair cuts I usually value speed and price the most, however, the blind pig is an exception for me. The space is big and open and the staff all make you feel extremely welcome without being pretentious or pushy. To me is seems like a great place to get a good haircut, and they are happy for you to have a drink while you wait. The online scheduling system is easy to use and a great bonus.

So you walk in and get a smile and a beverage. After a long day a bourbon sounds GREAT! If that’s not awesome enough for you, the comfortable waiting area to sip and relax should be. The couches are comfortable, plenty of chicks in magazines and good social atmosphere for good banter.
Mallory was entertaining and an expert of her trade. Feels good to have a clean cut! Finished edges with a razor for the win. Solid work.
