Matt Williams was initially licensed as an Oregon Real Estate Broker in 2001 after moving to Portland in 1996. He began his education in real estate by representing buyers and sellers in the Portland-​Metro area and dealt primarily with homeowners selling the property they owned in an effort to buy their next property. He developed a team specializing in increasing the NET proceeds for property owners attempting to represent themselves in their home sale (FSBO’s). His goal was, and is, to save his clients more money than they spend on commissions. His skill and talent in negotiation and communication are the primary area of expertise which leads to the benefits his clients experience.

In 2005 he found many of his clients investing in real estate without a reliable property manager who would deliver on the promises they made and also had the skills to make their assets perform. I was a tenant for about 6 months under the management of Bison Properties. Their web portal system is very user friendly and maintenance requests were always answered promptly. Matt Williams knows what he’s doing and his team does a great job of maintaining and serving their tenants in a professional manner. Thank you for the great service! If I ever own a property that needs management, I will definitely be calling Matt and his team at Bison.

I know Matt through a business organization — Metropolitan Business Assn. He is very open with information, willing to offer advice and very upbeat and positive. When I need a property manager, Matt will be the first person I call!

Rented a house from Bison and they were unresponsive to maintenance needs (it took us nearly a month to get a new range when ours broke) and they were incredibly disorganized with paperwork. In trying to add and drop someone on these lease they were constantly saying they had everything they needed, only to delay processing and ask us for more paperwork. It took a month after I had moved out to get my name off the lease when we requested it at least a month prior to our departure. I would not recommend them.

Scheduled an appointment to see a property, only to have them not show up. Couldn’t get a hold of them with calls or an email, so we left after 20 minutes of waiting. About 10 minutes after we got back to our current place, we received an email from them saying they couldn’t make it to the appointment. If they can’t even be bothered to show up to an initial meeting/​house viewing, I’m sure they’ll be just as neglectful with their tenants.

Matt and the team at Bison are true professionals. They know their business and Matt, himself, is truly a go getter. He will do whatever he can to take care of both his renters as well as his property owners. I highly recommend them.

We were renting a house through them, everything was good for the first two years, then they started harassing us. They tried to double our rent with no notice, they would do random checks at our house about twice a month with out giving a 24 hour notice, and eventually gave us a notice saying we were being evicted for dirty carpet. Our house was clean, the carpet had a few stains from some spills. They had no reason to ask us to leave, or «check up» on our house twice a month. What they did was illegal. We always paid rent on time, and were very much loved by all our neighbors. Bison Properties is not a rental agency I would recommend going through.
