Through her education and experience, Lori uses Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, adult and infant Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Polarity Therapy and Acupressure to work with each client’s individual needs. Her specialties include chronic pain therapy, scar tissue release, abdominal work, headache treatments, pelvic balancing, deep tissue therapy, pregnancy and relaxation massage. Her practice is open to everyone in need of the many benefits of therapeutic bodywork.

Lori also earned a certification in Transpersonal Hypnotherapy through The Institute for Therapeutic Learning in Seattle, Washington. From there she went on to become certified as a HypnoBirthing educator through The HypnoBirthing Insitute. Combined with her tailored fertility bodywork therapy she is delighted to provide positive growth, changes and outcomes for those on the path of fertility and family.

Lori began a path in healthcare her senior year in high school becoming certified as an EMT-​A. Knowing she wanted to continue in the field she went on to earn her Bachelors of Art degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa. Hearing of the beauty Portland had to offer she packed up and headed west. After experiencing a very spiritual connection to massage she decided to continue her journey at East-​West College of Healing Arts to earn her certificate and license in massage therapy. Now Lori is so excited to offer HypnoBirthing® Childbirth Education Classes and Fertility Consultant Hypnotherapy to her practice.

Yay! Lori is amazing! I took a hypnotizing class from her over the last couple months and will be getting a massage soon. Her class was extremely powerful, helpful, informational, beneficial, and fun! She provides such an awesome and positive atmosphere throughout the whole class every time and really made me and Danny feel super comfortable with her and the whole idea of being pregnant and going through birth. I was kind of a crazy and scared pregnant person before I took her class, and by the second class I already had such an overwhelming calm feeling about the whole situation. I’ve had a few other moms tell me their story from hell, and before Lori’s class I would have gone into panic mode and thought that was what would happen to me. But now after her class it’s amazing how calm I feel! I’ve still heard those stories and I just feel so at peace with my own body and my own birth that I know that will not be me! I would recommend Lori a million times over and over. She will truly change your life and perception of birth! We love her!

This birthing class was beyond what I could have imagined. Every class was engaging and interesting. Lori was stoked to be there every single time and it showed and even rubbed off on the group. We all enjoyed it even more because of how relaxed, natural, and easy going she was about the whole thing. I’ll be honest and say I didn’t have high hopes for me liking any type of birthing class at all but this straight up was not what I expected. And as they always say, the instructor makes the class.

Fantastic fertility massage with Lori over at Bloom. As we prepare for IVF, I’m full of hormones and stress to boot, and decided to take advantage of this 5 day before our transfer and booked a 90 minute appointment. She was super nice, great amount of pressure, and the abdominal massage was intense and amazing — a great way to meditate during a very high emotion time!

Lori has an innate gift of healing. She works intuitively and respectfully, particularly when it comes to pelvic massage, an experience that was completely new (and let’s face it, scary) to me. I walked out feeling revitalized and strong! Her demeanor is very calm and warm while still giving you space to connect with your own body during the session.

Lori is fantastic. She really knows what she’s doing and has been helping me deal with lower back and psoas issues for the past nine or so months. She really listens to me each time I come in and works hard to give my body exactly the treatment it needs. She is firm but gentle and always makes sure I’m okay with the pressure. We’ve done internal pelvic therapy a number of times, and although it was a new experience for me, she made me feel completely relaxed. She also makes sure to give me exercises to work on at home, and it’s clear that she is invested in my health and improvement. She is chill, friendly, and cooler than I will ever be, although she has no pretension about her. The insurance I was using with her has run out, but I will continue to see her anyway and pay out of pocket, because she is worth it!

I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet Lori. I started seeing her for prenatal massages last April, and then my husband and I took a Hypnobirthing class with her. Lori’s genuine passion for what she does comes through in both her massage technique and Hypnobirthing instruction. Her positive spirit is infectious and her warmth makes you feel like you’re visiting an old friend.
I continued my massages with her throughout my pregnancy, and miss them very much after having had my baby. She truly has a healer’s touch, for I always felt like I was walking on clouds after a session with her. For pregnant women who feel like they are always sore or achy somewhere, Lori knows just what spots to address to provide relief. She even did some bodywork right before my due date to help me get ready for delivery, and I went into labor right after her massage. I delivered my baby the very next morning!
As for her Hypnobirthing class, I went into it with a lot of fear and trepidation about childbirth, and left feeling calm and confident about what my body was capable of. I highly recommend her Hypnobirthing course to anyone looking to experience a positive and happy birth experience. My labor and delivery were far easier and more manageable than I could have imagined, due to practicing the techniques I learned in her class. After delivery, I also took my baby in for a CranioSacral treatment, and he blissfully slept through the entire massage.
Lori is a highly gifted masseuse and hypnotherapy instructor, and I think anyone would appreciate her talents, not just pregnant women.

I have been to several massage therapists over the years in and around the Portland Area. Lori is my favorite. She gives the right amount of pressure, is professional and not too chatty (I like to meditate when I get a massage) and her prenatal massages are wonderful. Plus she accepts insurance at Bloom!
Initially, I was going to her to reduce what I thought were tension headaches in the first trimester. I noticed the first two times when I put my head face down on the table the headache would increase. She figured out it was sinus related and recommended sinus flushing. Once I started flushing the sinuses with saline solution, relief took over.
In addition, I completed Lori’s «Hypnobirthing» class this past November. Our second child is due mid January. I cannot express how grateful I am that she offers this course. There are things I learned that I wish I knew four years ago when I had my first water birth. I feel well-​prepared, calm, yet excited, to meet our new «hypno-​water birth» baby!

Lori is amazing.
I worked construction for years until I hurt my back. I had surgery on my back a decade ago, and struggle with a desk job today. I can easy get out of alignment sitting all day, not to mention the extra pounds.
Simply said, she tunes right into my internal dialog and employs techniques adjusting my joints and setting me straight like no one else has. She has a knack for locating the issues, and I’ve been a regular for a year now.
Money well spent.

After meeting Lori and talking with her briefly about my concerns and current health, she not only did some standard Swedish massage, but she also worked on my chakras, did some foot reflexology, and some myofascial release. After floating on home, I felt tired but good. The next day, I had more energy and felt more balanced than I have in a while. My conclusion about Lori? She is gifted. I am grateful to have met Lori.

I have been seeing Lori for years. She has helped me throughout my pregnancy with generalized back pain, increased congestion, and many other fun things that we get to experience during pregnancy. Lori has also consistently offered me relief from headaches. Living in the NW has blessed me with horrible seasonal allergies and chronic sinusitis. Lori has an intuitiveness to her that guides her hands directly to the spot that relieves the tension.
Lori has a passion for helping people. She consistently is furthering her knowledge with continuing education. I’ve worked with Lori for almost a year now. When I first saw her I was trying to conceive and became pregnant soon after. During the pregnancy I have seen her on a very regular basis. Her massages have evolved along with my body to provide me with the therapy I need. I have gone to many different massage therapists, and am quite picky. Lori uses just the right pressure and variety of modalities that keep me coming back. Lori’s bodywork and loving spirit have provided me a space where I can achieve the total relaxation that is so very difficult to attain while pregnant. When she does her cranial sacral work I can literally feel a warm gentle vibration along my spine. I also took her hypnobirthing class. My husband and I truly enjoyed every session. With Lori’s guidance we feel prepared to have a natural childbirth. But perhaps the biggest accomplishment of Lori’s is helping to diminish my fear of childbirth. She educated us on what a normal, natural, and calm experience birthing should be. Lori exudes an incredible positive energy that has made me feel calm and at ease. She has been helpful in so many ways throughout my pregnancy, and I know she will continue to help me through the recovery and healing process postpartum as well!

I first saw Lori two months after I had a miscarriage. My body was extremely tense, and my expectation was that I’d get one massage to help myself relax and that would be it. Instead, it was the beginning of a nurturing relationship that saw me through the birth of our son over a year later!
Lori’s massages are unlike any massages I’ve ever had before. This is not your typical day spa massage experience (which I enjoy, don’t get me wrong — but this is a whole different level). Lori really takes time to understand what’s going on with you, and tailors the massage accordingly. Lori’s massages, in addition to feeling fantastic and encouraging relaxation, are more like therapy. I’ve especially benefited from her craniosacral, myofacial, and abdominal work. You can feel the love flowing from her hands.
After that initial massage, I continued to see Lori on a monthly and sometimes, depending on what was going on with me, biweekly basis. I have to say, my body has never felt so good. I’ve never considered myself to have «back issues,» but I do carry tension in my shoulders, and my back has never felt better. Lori helped my body to recover from the miscarriage and helped me feel physically and emotionally ready to try to get pregnant again through IVF. Not only did my body feel good, but my energy and spirit were improved as well.
I continued to see Lori throughout my pregnancy, and attribute my regular massage sessions to contributing to how good I felt through most of the pregnancy. I also believe that regular body work throughout my pregnancy helped me to have an amazing labor experience — a relatively short labor and water birth — and a relatively easy recovery.
In addition to having gifted hands, Lori is amazingly supportive, empathetic, and intuitive. She has been instrumental in giving me strength and support through my experiences of infertility, pregnancy loss, and subsequent pregnancy. I only wish that Lori had received her hypnobirthing certification in time for me to see her for that, too!
