This great store is part of the Audobon Society complex set into Forest Park, The store was the more then just the bird stuff I expected. It is great and it is all for a good cause. There are books and binoculars, everything you need to convince birds to visit your yard and most stuff you need to go out and find them elsewhere not to mention artwork… The real hit though, for me was the window with all the bird feeders. I lost track of time. Watching all the different birds was incredible. Figuring out what kinds they were with the handy flip charts was great! The attached animal hospital was interesting also. It also houses animals that are unable to be released.

What an amazing place to go to on Sunday. It was great to check out the live and taxidermist birds they have there along with all the excellent information that goes along with it. The store is having great deals on calenders right now and they have Lot’s of other great stuff to choose from. Great bird watching windows, nature trials all around and kids love it there.

Cute little store with a good selection of nature guides, friendly, knowledgeable staff will gladly educate and assist you. The hikes don’t compare to the trails in the neighboring Hoyt Arboretum but they are worthy of this special spot tucked in the hills of Portland.

The Audobon Society enjoys one of the prettiest and wildest spots for their store, while still managing to be a stone’s throw from downtown and NW23rd. Located in Forest Park right by the Macleay trail, the Audobon Society is a great resource and store for not just bird books, but nature books of many varieties. In addition to nature guides, they have tons of bird feeders, seeds, and tracking guides specific to Forest Park and the Pacific Northwest. They also have a beautiful display case of nests. The hummingbird nest is the size of a thimble. Don’t miss the separate building where their rehabilitated and rehabilitating animals reside. Check out Julia, one of the resident owls.
