History

Established in 2015.

In an effort to reinvent the salon experience in Portland, Maine, Jessica Vanier started Anna Philips Nail Bar. Lovingly named after her late grandparents, Anna and Phil, the nail salon brings a refreshing new perspective on convenience and experience. Always seemingly too busy (and admittedly too poor!) to schedule a spa day, Jessica often struggled to find a nail salon she was completely comfortable with. Whether the experience was cold, or hygiene was a concern, something was always missing for her. Alas, Anna Philips was born!

Tired salon traditions have been replaced with luxurious décor, and hygiene concerns have become a distant thought thanks to the salon’s meticulous focus on sanitation. Even more important to Jessica than a chic design or effective cleanliness, is her belief in creating a positive experience. Her unwavering commitment is to treat each guest as if they were a member of the Anna Philips family — much like how her grandparents lovingly welcomed everyone into their own home. While some traditions require an occasional overhaul, the art of kindness and regard will remain a constant at Anna Philips. It will always be a tremendous honor to be your nail salon of choice.
