America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

So dont be fooled by two pairs 69.99. With the eye exam, frames +lenses (which were 129ish each, and you dont really find that out until the end of the eye exam) i had to pay over 300 dollars. Good luck!

I had a great experienced when i came in and got an eye exam and spent money here several months ago. In the last couple of days I’ve had to call and talk to someone to get some contacts to try to see if i wanted to switch to their brand and the person i talked to has been defensive and just doesn’t seem to want to help. And is talking to me like i’m just trying to get something for free, not like I have been and am a customer who is purchasing products from them, which I am. Very strange way to treat a customer — off putting and makes me wish i was doing business somewhere else.

went in today & got my eye exam it was done very professionally and the dr was nice
found a great deal on army frames at a great discount and got everything done in liess than ½ an hour… im waiting now to get my glasses i usually call americas best in like 5 or 6 days they have them…
overall i was as usual pleasantly surprised by courteous classy surroundings
and a feel that im being very well taken care of…
whoever has a beef with americas best should think out how much two pair costs these days and then an eye exam to boot… very well done americas best…

Dr. Elliott was one of the best medical professionals I have ever been to. I wish he was my dentist!

The eye doctor was fun, and the staff was friendly. I wasn’t pressured into paying more than advertised and my glasses arrived in less than a week.

The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Elliot is hilarious and knows what he’s talking about! I was in and out in under 30 minutes but felt like I had all my questions and concerns addressed. I’m excited for America’s Best to be my new eye spot!

While the staff seemed OK I was disappointed at the «bait and switch» promotions the company runs. They say «Free Eye Exam» but it is not. they would not give me my prescription to look over until I paid for the exam. Even if you buy glasses it is not free if you want to take advantage of your insurance benefit. Bad Business and not customer friendly.

I was pretty pissed when my employer dropped paid eye coverage in favor of paid chiropractic and naturopaths (I work with hippies…), because I take my eye care pretty seriously. And while I’m sure a naturopath would tell me my eye problems were related to sugar and gluten, I trust someone who went to a real school.
Anyhow, after losing that glorious paid coverage, I sighed and went to America’s Best. And while their title is a little boastful and off the mark, they’re damn good. My Optometrist was great and mighty knowledgeable, taking the time to talk family history and look at the backs of my eyeballs (assuring me I and they were fine).
Then, I got a snazzy pair of glasses and sunglasses for under $ 100. Nice. The glasses are still going strong, I still stop in for free cleanings and tightenings, and my wallet is still fat. So, if you need your peepers peeped, go here.

I was without vision insurance and between careers when I needed a new prescription. My $ 1,100 progressive lens glasses were too scratched to wear and I dreaded the $ 200 eye exam.
Imagine my surprise to walk out with 2 pair for just under $ 600, exam included!
Doc Eliot was every bit as knowledgable and way more pleasant than many of the private practice eye doctors I’ve seen over the last 40 years!
When I consider that I paid more for my insurance than I did my care here I may never buy insurance again!

Went in on a Saturday morning. Scheduled my same day appointment online at 8a and was see at 9:30a. When I arrived I was wearing my last pair of contacts and was sans 2 recently misplaced pairs of glasses. After a few readings with an aid I met the doctor. He was a professional with a flair for comedy. I ordered 1 pair of glasses and 6mo worth of contacts. The doctor gave me an emergency pair of contacts as I departed. I was told my order should arrive in 5 – 7 business days. To my delight I received a call on Thursday notifying me my glasses had arrived.
Just picked up my glasses and my eyes are still adjusting. I will update in a few days about the quality of the work.

I was skeptical about making an appointment with America’s Best because I am weary of free anything, but I had such a great experience there. Their two pairs and a free eye exam deal is totally legitimate. The optometrist knew his business and the staff was super friendly and took time to help me find the right frames. I was also worried about what kind of frame selection I would have for such a low price, but again I was happily surprised to find an excellent selection of inexpensive AND designer frames. The sales staff also didn’t really pressure me to upgrade my lenses, which I appreciate. I only paid $ 70 for my exam and two pairs of glasses! And they are cute frames. I didn’t feel like I had to compromise at all. They were ready to be picked up in less than a week too! I can’t speak for anyone else, but I personally had a wonderful experience there.

Excellent staff! Everyone was friendly, helpful, and informative. And the prices are cheeeaaap.

I notice that the store posted a comment suggesting that they might have resolved the issue with me. They didn’t. I did get a message from them repeating what they told me in the store.
I went to The Eye Group for my replacement glasses – they were prompt, friendly, and slightly more expensive but their frames are much more durable. I don’t know if they pull the same «spring line» trick or not because the glasses I bought from them didn’t break.

My wife had an issue with her new glasses. We were taken into a back room by the manager and her assistant Guido and told there was nothing wrong with them. We were verbally tortured until we gave up. The most abusive people I have ever met!!!

The downtown America’s best has very courteous and knowledgeable staff. They were very gracious, even when I forgot my appointment and the doctor there told me much about my eye sight and prescription that I never knew. Highly recommended!

Excellent customer service. A little hard on the sales pitch but who isn’t nowadays? They assumed that I would buy contacts from them after the sight test — I told them that I had planned on shopping online, but when I saw their prices I decided to go ahead and but them there.
Highly recommended.

As promised I’ve come back for my daughters exam and glasses. This really is the best exam and glasses experience in town and I’ve been trying them all for many years. This time I went budget because the kid is 13 and I call her «the destroyer». She will destroy anything. Anything. For about $ 120 I got an exam and two pairs of glasses in frames she actually liked. There is a large selection here. They also have a policy to «upgrade» kids 13 and under, for FREE, to the better lenses that are normally an extra cost. I even purchased the warranty as it’s $ 10 a pair. To my surprise it covers «the destroyer» and her irritating habits. She breaks them in half and boom they are replaced. Seriously. The only thing that could make this place better would be the capacity to make everything while you wait. It doesn’t work like that and you have to wait a week but the quality for the dollar is unbeatable.

I went in because I needed either replacement glasses or contacts. I went during the middle of the day on a Monday and the store was quiet and there were plenty of staff available to help.
I had never had contacts but I was interested in going that route and the staff was very helpful in answering all of my questions. Since it was not busy the process was very quick. I filled out some forms, went into a room and performed some preliminary tests and then waited only a minute to see the optometrist. He was extremely friendly and helpful. The whole process was very quick and before I knew it, I had my first pair of contacts.
Before I could leave, I took a «class» on how to properly put the contacts in and take them out. The lady who instructed me was very patient and helpful. After about 15 minutes of frustration and struggle I was able to put them in and take them out successfully (apparently it takes some people 1hr their first time!).
All things considered, my experience was very good and quick. The only reason I am not giving them five stars is because they were just a tad pushy on selling their special package deal. That said, the service was great and I would recommend them to anyone interested in trying contacts for the first time.
