He was very friendly and went out of his way to have the watch for my daughter’s 18^th birthday ready on time. I had gone 3 other places that could not help me before I found this place.

This was out of my way, but all the other jewelry repair shops had low ratings for turnaround time and customer service.
I just needed a link taken out of a watch band. Alexander took less than five minutes and wished me a Merry Christmas with no charge! I immediately thought of a ring I would like to have repaired so I will definitely be back. And the jewelry in the cases was unusual and beautiful. A lovely place to shop for unique pieces.

my only experience with alexander’s has been when i stopped in to get a watch re-​sized. what a sweetheart! i mentioned that the watch was a birthday present and he quickly resized it and then refused to accept payment. he was so conscientious and courteous. i will definitely take my business here in the future.

Alexander is extraordinary. He has provided professional advice about my engagement ring, helped me to get it appraised, and repaired some watches. I love the fact that he always tells you the truth even if sometimes that means he won’t make money.
The first time I visited the shop was to see if I needed to change the setting of my engagement ring. Whereas other vendors would have jumped in to sell me another setting, Alexander asked me if that is what I wanted and asked why I was thinking about changing it. I told him that I loved it, but people kept on telling me that six prongs were better than four prongs. He explained to me that the prongs were solid and that I didn’t need to change the setting if I didn’t want to. I knew since that interaction that I’ll always go to him and I did. He is great. Honest and acknowledgeable. Strongly recommended!

I had a wonderful experience having two wedding rings re-​sized, and the re-​sized again. The first time I underestimated how small I needed them to be, and Alexander was very patient and barely charged me to repeat the entire process so that they ended up the perfect size. I will definitely be back for all of my jewelry repair, re-​sizing, and custom design needs I may have.

had to find someone to replace our batteries in our Skagen watches, most battery places won’t touch Skagen watches as they are so thin, they break. This gentleman did the replacement in less than 10 mins and it was only $ 20 for both! Da Gooch had been wanting to upgrade his wedding ring for awhile as well and we saw this really interesting band from Germany, decent price and a cool piece.

I damaged my engagememt ring and delayed getting it fixed. Completely my fault. I worried the repair would be expensive and might cost more than the original ring.
I should have never waited that long. Turns out he fixed it with the precision of a surgeon. The cost was very reasonable. Good as new. Glad to have it back on my finger again, where it belongs.
This is and old school jeweler with all the needed tools to get the job done right.

What a lovely shop and a lovely proprietor! I brought him two dead watches. One of which was a simple battery replacement, which he did as I waited. The second was a very nice Rado that I received as a high school graduation present from my mother. Unfortunately its waterproof seal dissolved and it made a huge mess inside my watch. I was worried that repairing it would be so expensive that I wouldn’t be able to afford to fix it; thus making my keepsake useless. He assured me that it would be a reasonably priced repair and would get it back to me very soon. He also repaired my father-in-law’s military pin as I waited and showed me how to fix it if it bent again.

This is specific to Omega watch repair only. I went in and asked Alexander if he could do a battery replacement on an Omega Seamaster watch, and how long it would take. «In the time it took you to ask those questions, the watch could be finished by now» was his response which, at the time, I found mildly amusing.
I’ve just had the watch in some sink water (it’s waterproof to 1000 ft, and the sink is about ¼ foot deep), and the crystal is now completely fogged, so I’m no longer amused. The fogging means it was improperly reassembled, and this allowed a leak, which can damage the inside parts. If arrogance and competence were one and the same, this guy would be great.

Uh… wow. This guy (Alexander!!!) diagnosed my watch (dead battery, as suspected) and replaced the battery in under 10 minutes — prolly more like 5 — as I stood there awkwardly glancing at his jewelry, hopefully not looking like I was casing the joint. $ 10. Can’t beat it.

Excellent service. I needed two metal watch bands shortened, and the work was performed perfectly and at a fair price. Nice jewelry items to browse and recommend to my husband as gifts :)

The rod connecting the band to the face of my watch somehow fell out the other day and after searching Unilocal to find a good watch repair place, I came across Alexanders. Just so you know, they are closed on Sundays/​Mondays and their hours are a little weird (11am-​6pm), but other than that, I’m really happy I found it. Small little place nuzzled between a bunch of cute shops on Fremont… even though they didn’t have a rod small enough for my skinny little watch, they ordered it and picked it up the very next morning. I also had them change the band on my watch with another that I had, which all in all cost $ 10. Not Bad.

Alex has been great with watch battery replacement, changes in the size of watch bands, cleaning of bands and watches. He has repaired a bracelet for my wife, advised us on which family jewels to keep, which to sell, which to reset. He’ll even give you a good price on gold jewelry. A neighborhood gem!

My wedding ring broke recently so I took it to Alexander’s for repair. When I got it back it looked great! It had been cleaned and the soldering of the wedding and engagement bands looked better than the original.

I ‘ve been sitting on an Emerald ring my Mom gave me when I was 19.
It is my birthstone and was made by a mountain man in Tennessee probably sometime in the 70’s. I never really wore it much as it just wasn’t my style. plus I just never wanted to lose it. anyway fast forward almost 30 yrs, My mother is gone now and I wanted to wear it to honor her. However I still was not in love with it’s style. It had a crown type setting with all of the emeralds pushed together so that you couldn’t really see their depth. I took it to Alexander’s in August. I was unsure of what to do so he offered to hang onto it and we would both think about it. I would stop in and visit it and we would knock around ideas. One day it hit me: what if he dropped the setting and spread the emeralds out yet kept all the integrity of the original design? with a few more visits and some tweaking Alexander has made me a beautiful piece of jewelry! I wish I had taken a photo of the original design. just imagine the emeralds smooshed together sitting up, off the ring. The price was quite reasonable and the craftsmanship impeccable. Alex is the real deal .
I am going to take some diamond earrings to him soon that I no longer wear. Can’t wait. You rock Alex!
