The environment, except for the loud volume of the music, is excellent. The attitude of the staff is less than stellar. Too loud, too Portlandia. Many other coffee shops to choose from.

dreamy atmosphere. beautiful light. natural feel. lovely music. .it was almost a dream. the coffee was fruity & strong. the zucchini bread was a little dry but perfect when dipped in my coffee mug. I dig this place. great for working or meeting with a friend. or for coming solo and soaking in this cozy, beautiful place. do it!

Lovely combination of coffeehouse and art gallery. Ample seating including couches and many small tables. Upscale decorating and nice exhibit. Great place to hang out and read or talk. Nice music.

The baristas are always friendly and super fast. The coffee tastes good to me. We’ve been going here for around 7 – 8 years now, and it’s been very, very consistent, which I appreciate. My partner and I are an Americano/latte couple. The pastry selection has been outclassed, I think, by some other coffee joints now… but the kid still enjoys the ham/cheese croissant and I used have a pretty good time raiding the day-olds when I was a student on a budget. It’s a good coffee shop. You can usually find a place to sit unless it’s rush, and it’s quiet enough you can carry on a convo, though you’ll probably hear snatches of other people’s chit chat too(whether you want to or not lol).

Good coffee and good ambiance and good amount of seating and good natural lighting and good amount of parking… BUT don’t expect to come here and relax to read a book or hold a conversation. Been here twice and there’s been LOUD obnoxious country rock playing both times for over an hour. I feel like I’m at a southern rock concert rather than a coffee shop to relax a bit. Oh and if you’re with someone forget about holding a conversation unless you’re yelling. Pain-inducing volumes.

A great place to study, plenty of plugs and seats, nice barista and street parking was not tricky to find on a Saturday afternoon. I can’t do dairy or nuts so I was disappointed to find they didn’t have coconut milk. Got the Americano… it was ok, a little bitter but it did the trick. If you’re looking for a place to study or catch up w a friend this is a great spot. If you’re a coffee snob and are looking for Portland’s best cup of coffee, I’m not sure this is the spot!

Really spacious cute coffee shop. Lots of seating indoors and outdoors :) Free wifi. Offers alternative milk options: almond or soy for additional $ 0.50. Proudly grinds stump town coffee.

Good coffee, cool baristas, but not the most comfortable atmosphere. I got the ham and cheese croissant which was very tasty. Good place to grab a to-go coffee

I now live in this neighborhood, less than 10 blocks from here. There are 3 – 4 neighborhood coffee shops with the same or better coffee, along with better food options.

Caveat: not a coffee connoisseur, but I am a café connoisseur. This place is bright but atmosphere is not cosy. Plenty of places to sit. Decent bustle which helps with creating positive energy. Baristas on Saturday morning polite but taciturn. Did not want to make any tea suggestions which turned me off a bit. Would go with a friend to talk, but not the best spot to share a nook with me and my own thoughts.

I always come here when I have to do homework for the entire day. The baristas are really friendly and the coffee and tea is great. I had a mint and fennel iced tea and it was amazing. There is a lot of different seating areas and electrical sockets. The garage door in the back looks fun to open in the summer.

I think most people would agree that this is a cool place, and everyone who works there is almost friendly… My latte was excellent even though they use Stump Town. The music they play is good too; however, they play it way way too loud even with ear plugs. They also play the same music over and over. I heard Purple Rain by Prince four times in less than an hour. Five stars are reserved for places that make you want to go back. This place does not.

Coffee-mediocre. They pull a pretty ok shot but the cappuccino is not great, especially compared to other places using the same stumptown beans. Environment-too loud. Baristas are indifferent for the most part, with a few exceptions. Worst of all, I’ve been going there to write for a year or two. Spent a bunch of time and money there. But today, pressured after 20 minutes to buy something or leave… enough. That’s just not acceptable. I’ll be going elsewhere from now on.

The space is 10⁄10 The coffee is 7⁄10 The baristas are 5−7÷10 This is a great space. For pretty much any coffee shop activity. It’s huge but cozy. The baristas are friendly. I have had some bad experiences in the past. This place ranks high on the«holier than thou» attitude. They aren’t rude. But they are sometime not friendly. You get your coffee though. So whatever And the coffee is fine. It’s stumptown. So it can’t be compared to heart or coava. But it’s not bad at all. Just isn’t special with a cherry on top for all those people who need a macchiato with beans roasted that very day. Seriously one of the best spaces though. I love hanging out here. I had a pretty bad review before but i am updating it. I hadn’t actually gone to this place enough. The baristas struck me as rude the first few times. But after coming here more I realized how nice the space is and that the baristas aren’t so bad. It’s a good coffee shop

I really enjoyed my first encounter with Albina Coffee. I was worried, at first, that I wasn’t going to be able to find a place to sit because it was so busy. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, however, and found a place for me! I ordered a cappuccino, which hit the spot. The zucchini muffin was to die for! Absolutely delicious; definitely recommend getting it! Love how open and inviting the coffee shop is! If I had not of found it on Unilocal, however, I don’t think I would have ever discovered it. It is kind of tucked away on the south end of Hawthorne near houses and other small businesses.

In this cute little shop, they serve Stumptown Coffee. The space in this coffee shop is awesome and the atmosphere is pretty relaxing. I was fortunate enough to be in the area for an appointment and I was early. So I meandered across the street to this little coffee shop and ordered myself a small Americano. I sat on one of their bar chairs that face the street and just people watched as random people walked by and the coffee drink was the perfect compliment to people watching. It was smooth and not burnt. Would I come back to this coffee shop? Yes if I am in the area. It is not one of those places that I would venture back into the area just for it, but if I happens to be in the area, I would definitely stop in again.

Open so early that I can stop and get coffee on my way into work, which I totally appreciate because there aren’t many places open that early on my way in and even fewer with the strong, delicious coffee that I require to function. It’s really mellow that early, warm, low lights, excellent zucchini bread and well– curated rotating art. I really like their art and the baristas, they have always been friendly.

Every time I come to Albina I am met with exceptional coffee and service. I always order a breve latte, and it is pure perfection each time. I love the atmosphere of the shop– it’s relaxed and there is lots of natural lighting. Plus, I always find awesome new artists with the barista’s awesome choice of music!

Albina Press used to be my wife and I’s favorite coffee shop in Portland to work, meet clients or enjoy a latte. Great space, plenty of seating and outlets and normally good service. But after tonight we will not be going back ever again. Tonight, during a meeting with a client, we had the most unreasonably rude barista we have ever encountered. The music was too loud to the point we couldn’t hear each other talking. We work in a lot of coffee shops and are used to loud music, but this was actually too loud. Our client walked up to the barista(his name was Peter) and kindly asked him if he could turn the music down just a bit. He then proceeded to tell her a flat no. She politely said ok, then we moved to a new table farther from the speaker to continue our meeting. Still unable to hear, I walked back to Peter to ask if he could please turn it down even a little. He simply told me, «I’m not going to do that.», then walked away. I have never seen someone be so rude to a customer, and because of that we will not be coming or bringing clients here again. Though the place and coffee itself is great, the service is awful.
