Acorn Host serves small businesses and nonprofits who want hosting from a socially responsible, green web hosting company. We are women-​owned and have a specially priced non-​profit plan to help the community. We offer ²⁴⁄₇ phone and email technical support and a wealth of features to help you create and maintain your website.

History

Established in 2002.

Acorn Host was originally part of Red Acorn Design, a local web design company run by Emma McCreary. Emma started Acorn Host in response to many experiences by her and her web design customers of poor service and unethical practices in the web hosting industry.

Built on the values of ethics, social responsibility, and a love for small and micro-​businesses, Acorn Host has grown into a stable and sustainable small business with a mission of being an asset to the community as well as its customers.

Since 2006, being green has been part of its mission, which it fulfills by buying green power and being committed to sustainable practices (recycling and reduction of waste) in its offices.

I am a confirmed geek with a passion for micro-​business, social innovation, and personal growth. My background is in web design, which quickly evolved into an interest in all the facets of business and how to make them human-​friendly and life-​serving.
