7-Eleven

This little store is a magical fairyland of convenient and instantaneous comestibles. From oven baked pizzas «ready in 90 seconds!» to fully-​encapsulated and fried «breakfast wraps» to hot dogs turning endlessly on perpetually rolling bars for what could likely be eons. Numerous coolers line the walls selling high end beverages the likes of bottled water, Steel Reserve (now in bigger cans!) and corn-​syrup heavy drinks packaged in healthy and refreshing looking bottles, it’s a wonder to behold.
Lo the shelves of Lay’s and Doritos, how they scream «EXTREME» with their bright colors and melodramatic names. The end-​caps festooned with squishy, comic-​laden cakey treats, some named in honor of the folks that eat them (ding dongs) and some more aptly carrying the namesake of the infamous ladies of the night that walk the lonely streets of 82^nd a mere 10 blocks away.
Honestly, for many, it’s everything you could ever need, packed in a bright, convenient little box.
For me, it’s a spot I visited in desperation when I needed a bottle of water. There’s nothing else really in that store that I could want or need unless left without any other option.
Plus one star for friendly staff and clean floors.
