I was planning to go to the local Home Depot for some lumber for a simple home improvement project, after getting some advice about the job from a friend he suggested I try 52nd building supply. I’m a big proponent for small business and local companies. I got that here and awesome service to boot! They helped me pick the correct wood, and hardware to complete the job! Great price, great quality and very helpful staff! I will recommend this store to everyone. Thank you guys for the great experience!

Love this place! Way better product than Home Depot, much as I do love Home Depot, and the staff here are absolutely fantastic. Prices aren’t bad, either.

Yes! Our local savior from the big box stores. Not sure why it took me so long to find this place, but now that we have, we’re super excited. Living in Woodstock, its always a hassle to go to that big Orange store on 205 or 82nd. Now that we know we have a solid, well priced supply of lumber and related tools, we wont be making that trip anymore. The folks running the place were super nice and helpful. We just needed wood for a shelf, but were able to find very reasonably priced tools for a drywall job we’re doing. Will definitely be returning(especially since they’re open after noon on Saturdays!).

Always helpful, friendly, and knowledgable about any building project you might have. Only gripe is they don’t have metal miter boxes, but past that, they are a great place to shop local. Would always rather go there than any of the big boxes.

Super friendly and knowledgeable. These guys are always ready to give advice and help figure out the best way to get your project done without over-spending your budget. Come in with a rough idea and they can even help«fill out» your plan(as in my case, where I don’t really know what I’m doing). Plus, locally and family owned and operated. A *TRUE* small business, which I prefer to work with whenever possible.

When I moved to Portland 22 years ago, instead of heading to a «big box» store when working on my circa 1940 house, I decided to check out their store. For more than two decades, I’ve been delighted by their attentive personal service. It matters not if I’m buying a load of lumber — or just a couple of screws — they help me get exactly the«right» thing for the job. And, because I’m a bit short of woodshop tools, it’s great that they’ll cut the plywood or lumber to my precise dimentions. I’ll continue to recommend this family-owned business to all I know. By the way, their prices are very competitive. Why bother going to a store where the workers don’t have a clue and couldn’t care less? While they’re worth a long drive; I’m glad they’re close by.

Went here while working on a weekend project with a neighbor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They happily answered my questions and gave me some samples of different products to try at home before committing to a big purchase. That experience earned my repeat business.
