After the bar shuts down, the dance floor has emptied, and your not supposed to feed the Gremlins, club 2410 is just warming up. Going on until sunrise and maybe even later. Featured musicians and a great selection of local talent mixed with international music you will be hard pressed to find a more happening place between 2am and sunrise. Cover is affordable, security is good, one love, great music, late night. The rugged industrial backdrop is practically perfect. Besides, who needs to sleep.

Depending on the event… this place can be an awesome fun filled night or a lame quick stop. More fun than not, check it out.

My fav place to go dance in Portland. I prefer the 21+ events over the kiddie parties and yes, it depends on who is throwing the party. The staff rocks, the music is always good with the right promoter and it has a true, underground feel. I have been going to dance shindigs for almost 11 years now and I never once complained about using a porta pottie. That is just the way it is. The space only has 2 v.i.p. bathrooms and when they were open to everyone, they got trashed. It is nice to have a good bathroom for a highly paid act that rolls through.

This is a really cool venue. Relaxed staff, ample dance space, two dance rooms, and plenty of couches to chill on. I had an enjoyable time, but there were a couple of things that I didn’t like. Port-a-pottys. I know everyone else mentioned this but they suck, and are dark and gross. We got there at the beginning of the night and they were already gross which tells me they don’t empty or clean them nightly or often. I did catch wind that there are proper indoor restrooms for«VIPs», obviously I was not one but man I need to make some connections for next time. The other thing was the temperature. This is a warehouse, and the loading dock doors were wide open. No heating on the inside so if you aren’t dancing to get your own body temperature up, you are hanging around in the same temperature as it is outside. Which means I was wrapped up in my coat most of the night. I imagine that the same is true in the summertime but hopefully they have some fans on for hot nights. Drink prices were ok, a bottle of water was $ 2. But someone I spoke with who had been there the previous night said they were charging $ 5 for a bottle of water then, so I think it depends on the party/crowd regarding the pricing. Cover was $ 15 which is a little on the steep side for my wallet but there were nearly 20 DJs playing over the course of the night and the party went til 5am(though I didn’t!) so I think it is justified. Although I brought my own I was appreciative to see them selling earplugs($ 1). Please please please always wear earplugs at loud shows! Overall I give it 4 stars because it was a good time and very chill. I love the rough homegrown feel. I always feel out of place at more«polished» swanky clubs and I love how 2410 is raw and relaxed. Although I will say this is not a «see and be seen» place. More like a «glowsticks and dance» place, at least for the party I went to. But I get the impression they host different events that cater to different crowds, so your flavor may differ.

**1.5 to 2 stars, depending on my mood. And it pains me to say that. 2410 is an event venue in No Po. That being said, I don’t have anything v pleasant to say about it. Sorry, kids. Sure it’s a cool, hip spot in Portland — and coming from me, I’ve been to plenty of great venues in Portland where fantastic parties have been thrown. This, however, was a bust. A big, fat, badly run bust. 1. Cash only and ticket holders were in 2 separate lines, which was good, but there was ONEDUDE taking id’s once you got to the door. And then he sent you to yet another line. Which we wound up waiting in WHILEITTURNEDMIDNITE. The cash only line got in quicker than those of us that had actual tickets. Did I miss something? 2. The extenda-tent thing they had going on. Did you really think that people WEREN’T going to try to sneak in? REALLY? Cuz they did. I watched them. Apparently you did not. 3. Bad bad BAD, for lack of better terms, feng shui. There was no flow to the space. It was a big olé clusterf*ck. People were running into each other, all the stairways were packed. Basically, if there were a fire, we would all BURN. To death. I’m just sayin. 4. Sound system sucked. I had no idea what I was listening to, but I’m pretty positive it wasn’t SaQi. Not that I could tell b/c trying to get into the actual main space was a joke. I couldn’t even make it thru the entrance. Venturing to the tented stage wasn’t any better — as there was no actual music, just a sound check for what seemed like an eternity. Oh, and girls dancing on stage. To the sound check. WTF. 5. No countdown to midnite. I looked at my phone and saw people making out around me before we figured out it was midnite. That’s lame. Every party I’ve ever been to has had some form of countdown into the new year. I had to rely on my bloody phone and the people super high on E around me to figure that out. 6. Bar and coat check — HAHAHAHAHA Trying to set up a bar in what was supposed to be a chill space was completely unsuccessful. I’ve never seen so many tweakers look so lost! And the coat check — WOW, you’re cutting up a deck of frickin cards INDIFFERENTSHAPESANDSIZESANDTHENHANDINGONEPARTOFTHATOUTTOTHEPEOPLEWHOWERECHECKINGTHEIRCOATS? Are you serious? Do you know how many people walked out w/the wrong coats? Of course not b/c… 7. …the fire marshal SHUTTHEPARTYDOWN3HOURSBEFOREITWASSUPPOSEDTOEND. Yes, they did. Because there were way too many people in the space itself. …sigh… I’ve been to plenty of great events thrown by Abstract Earth Project and I have lots of love for them, and maaaaybe I should be reviewing them instead. …shrug… I was v v disappointed in this particular party. I’ve heard a lot of people say(but prolly not vocalize, so I’ll do that for them) that presales should’ve ended and that should have been it OR just had a cash ONLY line at the door b/c overselling the event just shut you down. And that made me sad. Sorry to say, but perhaps greed should be last on your list. **Highlight: March Fourth playing in the parking lot after the party got shut down. Because they’re rockstars like that. ***I’m just the messenger for the people.

Funness ensues late night at 2410. I came here for an after hours get-together, post-Shpongle show at the Wonder Ballroom, and had a great time with my friends, laughing and dancing to an amazingly skilled DJ. While my experience here was relatively short, I can’t help but think that if I spent some more time here, I’d fall in love. The *one* criticism that knocks my review down a notch is the port-a-potties serving as your only restroom option. [Really? I have to go in a Honey Bucket? Hmph.] Aside from that, this place totally rocks. Cool patrons, lovely staffers, and a dancefloor that enables one to get down. I’m down.

Ok, so the whole point of this Unilocal thing is to read other peoples reviews and if all looks good, check the place out. That is exactly how this story started… was looking for a good place to get down to some house music. Back in the day(8 years ago) the Ohm was the perfect spot to do so. Now it is a hip hop, meat market that as of late is known for being the kind of place where you can’t even set your drink down, for fear it will be swiped. Anyhew, I started listening to techno back in 1994, and was lucky enough to have a DJ roommate from Austin, who used to spin at the renowned Club Proteus. So I guess you could say I know good beats, and how the whole scene works. I talked a friend into checking out 2410 last night, and after happy hour at the Tiger Bar we headed down to check out the AMAZING light show, and and check out the best place for underground music. We actually convince a couple people we met at the Tiger Bar to tag along, found a place to park after 10 minutes of circling and walked the two blocks to the space, freezing our asses off the whole way. We walk up and the first thing I see is an outdoor smoking area filled with club kids and glow sticks and I wasn’t sure if I should feel nostalgic, or unsure of what was inside. We hoof it up the ramp to the door and they asked us for $ 20!!! Seriously? For some AMAZING lights, and from what I could hear«ok» music? Not a chance in hell. The most I EVER paid to get into a rave was $ 17 in Denver, Colorado and that was for a Rampant party in a kick ass airplane hangar in the middle of nowhere, and that was 12 years ago. I’m sorry, if you have a bar, there is no need for that kind of cover. I suppose if you had a super-star DJ on the bill, but I was never able to find out any details about who was spinning let alone a phone number to call for information. Long story short we bailed and decided to head out somewhere else. I’ll leave the pacifiers and glow sticks to the kids who can afford the overpriced cover. As for me, I’ll pay less, and not have to deal with the stench of too many fog machines.

NYE2008… I think I chose the best $ 20 party in town. Possibly the only $ 20 party in town? I have to say, coming from the San Francisco bay area I was really thinking this would be another«only OK» PDX party, just based on what I’ve experienced so far, which is people who are far too pretentious to even dance at a DANCE event. Wtf? I was wrong– SOMUCHFUN! The club had a quick line, super friendly staff, fun people, great decorations and GREATMUSIC. It was hard to choose between the 3 badass rooms, all hard-hitting trance, DnB, ect. Super quick on the drinks too. And 3 full bars! Sound system, yes. Great. Not horribly crowded either… I would say the only downfall would be they had port-o-potty’s instead of a real bathroom… but maybe I didn’t see it? I was having a lot of fun dancing… In any case, I had such a good time, the whole scene was def worth the 5 stars.
