SoCal Blow Dry Bar

After reading the reviews I called to make an apt with Christina or Valerie last Thursday. I was told that Christina was booked up that day, but that Valerie was available for a 8am apt the following day on Friday. I made the appt. When I went in, I was told that Valerie didn’t come in until 9am. I do not know why I was told that I had an apt with Valerie at 8am if she wasn’t scheduled, but it seemed like either a complete mistake, or that whoever made my appt purposely did it.
Although I was really looking forward to an appt with one of these two, I kept an open mind and decided to try who was available, which was Jasmine. I am so glad that I did. It was my time time getting a blow out at any dry bar, and Jasmine made my hair look gorgeous, and did my hair exactly the way I requested. I left feeling fantastic. I will definitely be back, regularly. I will be happy to go to Jasmine anytime.

I am trying different hair styles for a wedding that’s coming up. I have tried the competitor (starts with a D & it’s yellow) but always seem to come back to SoCal Blow Dry. My first style was with Wendy. I was going for the curl look, my husband was not too happy but I thought she did a great job. I came back & Lulu was my stylist for my 2^nd visit… She was amazing! I asked for straight, with volume. The style was perfect! My husband loved it! Lulu’s style lasted 4 days… I came back today & my appointment was with Christina & she was great! Not sure what I wanted to try next. She recommended the blowout with a little curl, it came out perfect! My husband gave it a two thumbs up! Thank you ladies for your friendly service & making me look amazing every time! Will continue to comeback!

My previous hair appointment fell through for my friend’s wedding. I was able to book my appointment first thing in the morning and called ahead to make sure we could expedite things. Because k had to do pictures so early they told me to come with my hair clean and dry… my appointment was at 7:45am on a Saturday… I was seated a few minutes late, but had 2 girls curling my hair. I pointed to some pictures in their book and ended up with a combo of the 2 styles. 40 Bobby pins later I was out the door at 8:30am! It held up well for most of the day, but by 2:30pm I was leaving a trail of bobby pins. I would definitely recommend.

Came here to get my hair braided. when I called to make the appointment the lady told me it’s going to be $ 20 then the next day when she called to confirm my appointment I said its $ 20 right? She said oh no sorry changed it to $ 30 UHHH what?! Prices changed overnight??? Whatever, it’s not about the extra $ 10 it’s just you should know what you’re saying to your customer and if you’re not sure don’t make something up… anyways, I still
Went in & the salon was clean (that’s the only reason why I gave 4 stars or else I would give 1) My braids only lasted a day because she put no products in it to keep the braids from getting loose and the top of my head from getting frizzy. I can pay $ 30 somewhere else for a luxury service.

I’m absolutely loved Lulu! She was absolutely great! She did a deep wash on my hair and I loved it! On top of that she was pretty fast and my hair came out impeccable! Needless to say I’m a very picky person! I will definitely be coming back to her! Thanks Lulu!

I usually come here often but these girls just keep getting nasty mean! I have to keep telling them over and over again what I even want done to my hair and tell them not to put certain products in my hair because I am allergic! The receptionist keeps mean mugging me and giving me sass, threw the pen at me when she gave me my receipt and I barely even said anything just yes and no to her when checking out. The stylist kept getting mad when I would ask her to re straighten some parts because my hair was wavy after asking for it straightened 6 times. Once I was here I left a $ 20 tip thinking maybe they’d start being nicer and they all cold shouldered me and shrugged like it wasn’t enough!!! It was 50% tip! So disappointed.

I’ve been coming to SoCal Blow Dry Bar since last year. This place is clean & I love the décor. I gave this place a try after seeing all the good reviews, not to mention it’s very affordable compared to other dry bars around my house. I was there this morning to get my hair done for a wedding, I was lucky enough to have my hair done by Susie. She was very friendly, sweet & did an excellent job on my hair. I’ll be coming back to see her again soon.

My daughter has been laid up and I brought her for a wash and blo dry. They were so accommodating! Really made her feel good again! Lots of nice touches around the shop! Cookies while you wait. Water etc! Made for a nice relaxing afternoon to have someone else take care of you!

Jasmine (not sure if that’s the spelling) is amazing. Always does my hair perfect! She always does my hair exactly how I want it. She’s gentle with the combing and blow drying.

Bought a groupon. The front desk girl seemed annoyed that I walked in. Then she couldn’t find my appointment but then found someone to take me. The wash & the styling was really nice. My hair holds a style so my blowout lasted 3 – 4 days and looked fresh. Their regular price is $ 40 and the groupon was $ 13 after i got a SoCal deal with 20% off all local deals. I believe the regular groupon is for $ 18 or 20. I most probably wouldnt ever go there again without a groupon.

I got a Groupon deal for this business and decided to use it to get my hair done for our family Christmas photos. Scheduling was fine, no issues. 2 stars go for the styling. I asked for loose, beach waives on my A-​line haircut, but what I got instead was Shirley Temple type curls that had no style, texture, or shape to them. I ended up going home and trying to fix the whole hair do. Honestly not worth the $$ I spent on the deal, and definitely wouldn’t be worth the $ 35 – 40 price tag at the salon itself. I’d rather do my own hair if I’m not going to be wowed by how someone else does it.

One of the best blowouts I’ve ever gotten. Gloria did a great job and made sure to give me a style that would last through to the next day. This service is totally worth the $ 40 if you have curly hair (like me) or are short on time (also like me).

I took my best friend here so we could get our hair done before a luncheon. We soooo lucked out with our stylists! My friend’s hair is very easy to style it holds a curl perfectly and her hair looked amazing!
My hair on the other hand cannot hold a curl to save it’s life. Somehow my stylist worked some magic. I wish I could remember her name so next time I go back I can request her again (maybe they will have it on file who did my hair). My hair lasted the entire day! I woke up this morning and I still have curls.

Love this place! I have a lot of hair but Eunice does an incredible job with it and makes it look so easy!

I have been to SoCal Blow Dry Bar in Porter Ranch multiple times and have had positive experiences for the most part.
The best stylists I have had to date were Devyn and Jasmine. Both of these ladies listened to what I wanted and gave me the exact results I was looking for. Furthermore, they did not keep me there for too long. Jasmine’s blowouts in particular tend to last me much longer than any others! They are both wonderful, however, and I highly recommend them.
The only complaint I have about this location is that there have been a few times that they have asked me to come in 15 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment because I have very thick hair. I am always happy to accommodate if I can, but all three times they have asked me to do this I waited for almost 25 minutes. I’m not sure why I could not have kept my original appointment time if I was going to have to wait. That is why I had to give 4 stars instead of 5.
Regardless, my hair has always turned out excellent and all of the stylists are extremely friendly and helpful. It is a convenient location and easy to book appointments online.
I will definitely be back!

Easily the best blow out I’ve had. Stylist Christina did a great job adding volume to my hair. It far exceeded my expectations!

5 days strong thats how long my blowdry lasted!!! I called on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get an appointment for the following day luckily. I was lucky and got Kristina as my stylist she was super friendly, very personable and overall a great stylist. Loved her look as well from the hair, makeup and clothes!
She shampoo’ed my hair asked me what look I was going for I did ask for a side pony a classic sleek look but it didn’t go the way I wanted as I wanted more volume. However when she took the side pony out to tease my hair more my hair looked so voluminous and sooo va va voom I decided to skip the pony. Even other people waiting gave me compliments and said to leave my hair down so I did.
I was very pleased with my look the only thing was that I would have liked the other side curled a little bit too. I felt one side had more oomph than the other and looked very flat. But overall I was happy I would come back and specifically ask for Kristina to do my hair again. I loved how she gave me the big hair that I was going for she definitely knows what she is doing!
This place is located in the Ralphs shopping center next to the Mediterranean Bistro. Parking here sucks because you are competing with all the other restaurants and shops here. The prices here though $ 40 is a little pricey I would never pay full price thankfully I found a groupon and got it for $ 25 which is more reasonable.

Teens looked fabulous! In and out in about 45 min. Friendly staff and skilled with all types of hair so that’s huge for me! I have super curly hair and a lot of it.

I have been to the SoCal Blow Dry Bar in Porter Ranch a handful of times. For the most part, I have had great experiences there! It’s definitely not as chic as DryBar, but it’s still pretty cute inside and gets the job done.
I only had one negative experience here. I just requested a standard blow dry, and it came out awful. I spoke to the manager to let her know that the stylist seemed very «green» and unfamiliar with how to style hair. The manager revealed to me that the particular stylist that was working on my hair was BRAND NEW and was still in a training period. The manager profusely and genuinely apologized, and she offered me a complimentary blow dry on my next visit with a more seasoned stylist. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! If you go to this place, I would recommend you specifically ask for an experienced stylist. On this complimentary visit, Sara did my hair, and she was GREAT!
