Specialties
Located in beautiful, historic downtown Port Washington, Sir James Pub is a haven of craft and import beer. With a rotating selection of over 600 bottles and 18 drafts, there’s always something new to try. An extremely knowledgeable staff loves beer as much as you do, and we focus on a grand collection of unique, rare, and out of the box brews. We offer weekly tastings on Thursdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 3:30pm, and monthly events with featured breweries.
Not a beer lover? We offer over 60 varieties of Whiskey’s, Bourbon’s, and Scotch’s, as well as unique and odd offerings of vodka, gin, rum, tequila, and an array of craft cocktails.
History
Established in 1983.
With over 30 years of experience in the craft and import beer world, Sir James Pub is a beer lovers paradise. The original owner opened with 450 varieties and a well displayed love of medieval England, focusing mainly on import brews and statues of knights. Over the years, his love for the business waned, and in 2012, the son of his business partner, a manager at the Pub, bought him out. Jason has brought a renewed energy and love of all things beer, and kicked up the already hefty selection to over 600 varieties, including 18 rotating tap lines. Though still a corner bar atmosphere with an old world pub design, Sir James Pub is now a center, and a staunch supporter, of the craft beer world and all those who love it as much as we do.
Meet the Business Owner
Jason R.
Business Owner
Jason all but grew up at Sir James Pub. His mother was a bartender and business partner of the original owner, and Jason did everything from cleaning, stocking, and bartending, to marching next to a knight costume in the city parade, before becoming a manager in 2006. When the original owner suffered a stroke at the end of 2011, the future of the Pub was uncertain. But in 2012 Jason decided to buy the business that he had been rebuilding since 2006.
Over the past few years Jason has kept his love and passion for great beer from all over the world, and has expanded a selection of 450 to over 600. With a dedicated aging cellar and a focus on quality for the price, the business has grown exponentially. Watching carefully as the craft beer world explodes, Jason hopes to continue the legacy that Sir James has become.
