We had a great family dinner at Riverfish tonight. The service was excellent, and the view and the ambience were outstanding! The food was excellent, my wife had a salad and I had the fish tacos. There are a lot of options for kids as there is an extensive children’s menu. I would highly recommend coming here.

Had a surprisingly great time! This location has changed hands many times over the past 20 years so I Figured I’d give the new Riverfish a try. It was a happy surprise. Went during happy hour 4−7p on a Tuesday that happened to be Karaōke night. Normally this is dangerous and usually later, but the group seemed to be regulars and we’re all pretty talented, actually. dJ wasn’t loud or obnoxious and the music was a good volume, but not so loud you couldn’t hear people talking. The bartender was great. Very fast and professional, and amazingly was solo in pouring, serving and doing all the drinks for the restaurant as well. Food was really good too. Had the seafood bisque, which was creamy and full of real seafood, very tasty. The stuffed seafood salad in avocado halves and the bang bang shrimp, all off the appetizer section were all really good. During happy hour, not only were drinks half price but so were certain appetizers. The wings are great and the calamari looked amazing, I didn’t have it but the guy next to me did. I will surely be back. Ladies night is Tursday and karaōke on Tues! Service was a little slow, but I’m sure they can work on that. Also, outdoor seating on the water which is really nice. If the restaurant reads these I would recommend candles on the tables at night as it adds some ambiance and it’s also quite dark once the sun goes down.

As a family, we always loved this restaurant Until last Saturday night. We were shocked to experience the absolute WORST meal of our lives. The food was uneatable! Everything tasted spoiled or not fresh. To make matters worse, the unprofessionalism of the management and staff were not to be believed. After ordering our salads and appertisers, we waited 45 minutes before went into the kitchen to find what happened to out food and service. I became outraged when I found out that the wait staff stopped working in order to have their dinner(at our expense). When we finally left, we were still very hungry and found another restaurant to dine in. If you never do anything else stay away from this place at all cost unless you plaintiffs get ripped off and possibly food poisoned.

Went back here after a few years with low expectations after reading some reviews. We went early –5:45 with Grandma so sat right down. A little buggy and service was a bit basic. There seemed to be a lot of staff around, but it was early. Swordfish was pretty good — large portion and well seasoned. The veggies were oily but not bad. Crab cakes were good but shrimp Diavlo pizza was dry and lukewarm. Probably won’t go back anytime soon, but it’s changed hands so many times it’ll probably flip and we’ll try it again!

A real let down. The waitress could not tell us if anything on the menu was good because she hadn’t tried anything. She said she has been told the ribs are great… ugh, they were dried out and not tasty at all. The shrimp cocktail was good… she said she«thought» there were five shrimp on it, well it arrived and there were only three shrimp. My swordfish was ok, it was a large portion, two good size filets and mashed pots were actually pretty good. We ordered a $ 44 bottle of wine(on the higher end for this place) and she opened it up and almost filled our glasses to the top and did not offer a tasting before she poured it. It wasn’t cold enough so we had huge glasses of warm wine. Overall, the three of us agreed this was not a really good experience, food or service.

Wow, so disappointing that this place can’t even get a wedge salad right! The lettuce was brown in spots and the tomatoes were chopped in bits… The dressing was out of a bottle and they should research how a salad like this is to be presented. The margharita pizza was forgettable and not even hot. No bread basket offered and wait staff clearly inexperienced. Took a long time to be served after ordering. The bathroom needs repair/cleaning… It’s not good. As other reviewers have stated, the juvenile hand-written paper sign stating they no longer accept American Express is a red flag as to the caliber of this business. Great location but other than that this place is awful.

We came here recently for a retirement brunch and had a great time! I’m told this is their second season under the direction of new owner/manager Dennis(who also runs Bagels NA Hole Lot More). As North Shore waterfront brunches go, I’m partial to Wall’s Wharf for their tranquil beachfront setting, but RiverFish’s nice marina setting provides an equally nice setting overlooking the boats in Manhasset Bay and Great Neck. They have a great brunch buffet that runs about $ 35pp, which includes about 8 – 9 hot entrees(equally split between breakfast and lunch items), and omelet station, cold salads, lox, whitefish, unlimited bloody Mary’s and mimosas, and my favorite — the seafood & raw bar! Yup, save some room, because their crab legs, clams, oysters, mussels, and jumbo shrimp is worth its own paragraph in my review! Everything here was scrumptious and well-worth the price of admission even if you didn’t eat anything else! Pic: All in all, we had an excellent meal, and service was terrific(although at times before it got busy, there were a ton of extra servers and staff just standing around, sort of «in the way» as we were making frequent back and forth trips to the buffet area). Regardless, I’d come back in a heartbeat and recommend this place to anyone seeking a tasty brunch on the North Shore!

I haven’t been to this restaurant in about a year. I keep on going back hoping that new management will turn this waterside restaurant around b/c it has a lot of potential. This time we went there for dinner. Hostesses were friendly. I saw a sign saying American Express was not accepted which made me weary. Service was really bad. Not sure but I don’t think they hire real experienced waiters/waitresses. The waiter never came back to see how our meals were and was not to be found when we needed him and it wasn’t even busy. No one came around to ask us how we liked the food or how everything was. It’s like no one really cared and it showed. We ordered the fried calamari which tasted good but full of excess oil. Cheeseburger was nice size but fries were also oily. Doesn’t anyone in the kitchen know that you are supposed to try to remove as much oil as possible from fried foods before serving them and to place something underneath to absorb the oil when serving? Guess not. Seared tuna was very good but didn’t come with the Asian slaw as stated in the menu. The place smelled like fishy seafood which is never a good sign for a seafood restaurant. Some of the customers were extremely loud and obviously drunk and not in a good way. I was really rooting for this place to finally succeed but the lack of leadership and quality control is evident.

Recently a number of friends had a late lunch at RiverFish. We sat in a dining room where the air conditioner wasn’t running or certainly not running well. Once we discovered we weren’t getting any relief, I asked for the ceiling fan above the table be turned on… nor did that work. It was a windy day and we all followed up by asking them to open the windows in the room. Our request fell on deaf ears. It wasn’t until more than ½ way through our meal did I OPEN the windows… relief was felt by all. Next, the meals came out in piece-meal. The waiter apologized for the delay with the meal delivery. Some of us ordered mussels — they were shriveled and NOT even a decent size… and we came to learn they were out of steamers. Two people ordered the ribs… they were tender however the fries were under-cooked. Steak was done the way everyone requested, as was the fish-salmon. I know the restaurant has changed hands a number of time as well as has the name of the restaurant. I’m soo sorry to give this review but if you want to merely go for a drink and light meal and the waterfront atmosphere — then give it a go. Finally, the Ladies room wasn’t up to speed either-given there were 2 stalls-one was out of order and the other was nearly out of tp… no one had gone in to replace or inspect the bathroom. I have a real issue with that lack of attention also! RiverFish was a huge disappointment in my book. Nothing more needs to be said than that!

It is always a red flag when there is a sign that says«we no longer accept American Express». I know this and I still walked into River Fish restaurant, big mistake! I may have paid for a worse meal before, but I can’t remember when. From the bartender who couldn’t make a rum punch to the anemic choice of wines, to the appetizer that took forever to arrive and then disappointed when it did get there the laughs just kept on coming ! I will say my tuna was pretty good but my wife’s lobster tail was way overcooked and dry and the baked potato tasted like it was microwaved. The dessert was also a big disappointment . When a restaurant«no longer accepts Amex, it’s usually because people have complained and Amex credited the meal back.» Lesson learned…

The food is mostly decent and the setting has improved since new owners came in a few years ago. However there are kids running the restaurant and not well trained. The service was terrible. Maybe the owners don’t care enough to train the staff? They certainly weren’t around when we were there a few weeks ago. It was embarrassing. We keep our boat at this marina. Too bad because we’d love to patronize this place.

What a disappointment! With a great location overlooking the Bay, the food would only have to be decent to keep me coming back. I ordered a Caesar Salad as an appetizer, which was lackluster, and not a true Caesar. The Shrimp Pizza I ordered as an entrée was simply gross. The best analogy I can come up with is that it resembled the«pizzas» kids would make in preschool. It lacked a genuine pizza crust, the sauce was out of a jar, and the shrimp was overcooked. We were surprised to be able to get a table on late notice for a Friday evening dinner… now I understand why. RiverFish, I hope you clean up your act.

There have been so many incarnations of this restaurant over the last few years and I just don’t understand why any of the ownership groups can’t do justice to such a great location. This review is for their brunch. It’s $ 32 per head including unlimited Mimosa’s and Bloody Mary’s. So we have 1pm reservation and get their on time. We are seated right away. But then we wait a good ten minutes for someone to bring water and order drinks! Geez! Mimosa’s were fine. Bloody Mary not able to drink it. I like hot stuff but this was just silly. They had live music that was way too loud and even after several requests to lower nothing changed. We were seated in one of the rooms away from the bar. I can’t imagine how loud it was in the bar area. So we can’t really talk to each other because we can’t hear each other. Now for the food. Omelet station. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage bagels, croissants, waffles, blintzes, no maple syrup out or butter had to ask for it.(Breakfast Syrup… YUCK!) Lox tray, some salads and a few entrees chicken and rice, lamb something or other. Lastly Clams, Oysters, mussel’s, peal and eat shrimp, crab legs. This was just OK. They just had the stuff in a giant bin on ice. Who knows how long it was sitting there. The clams were still attached to the shells(really?) They should have had a smaller amount of seafood out and someone shucking in front you so it would be fresher. I’ll try them again for happy hour or dinner but not for brunch. I guess the best way to some it up is the: Location is Four Seasons Service is Olive Garden Food is Catering Hall Live music at brunch? Cmon? really? PS We arrived at 1PM left at 2:30PM band never took a break. I guess they think they are the e street band! So we couldn’t talk the entire time there. We’ll all catch up on Facebook this week.

This place has AMAZING potential and could easily be one of the best brunch spot on Long Island if they clean a few things up.

One week later and I ordered the meal I was coveting last week the River-fish awesome burger 10 ounces o beef, bacon, carmelized onions, jalapeños, and a fries egg. ‘Twas worth the four hour ride from MD, my wife had a veggie pizza with chicken that was great! Absolutely will come again!

Crab cake appetizer was very good. Appetizers in general seem a bit overpriced.($ 10 for lobster bisque?) The dishes we had(fish tacos, salmon) were just OK. Nothing special. Mixed drink prices were reasonable. About $ 8 with non-premium liquors. Happy hour with ½ price drinks must be hopping Service was good. But the music… it was painful. We moved into other room to get away from the Guitarist/singer
