Our experience with Pamela was very disappointing to phrase it as mildly as possible. We hired her to photograph our wedding and produce a wedding album. When we met with her for the very first time, she showed us some recent wedding albums she had created and we really liked them. We told her at that time that we would really like an album similar in design to one of the samples she had, which she had agreed she would be able to create at her customary fee schedule. To her credit, in all things leading up through the wedding, she was highly responsive and really great to work with. However, once the wedding had passed we found working with her to be difficult. She posted our photos on a website for our review in a month or two after the wedding and directed us to select our favorite photos so she could create the album. However, the photos were posted completely out of sequence! She had created about 7 general folders, such as «ceremony», «reception», etc., but within each of those folders was absolute mayhem for sequencing. It is really hard to figure out which photos are best when numerous photos of the same pose or activity are all over the place. Needless to say, we found this so daunting of a task that it took us about a year to finally select our favorites. Once we had selected our favorites, we sent those back to Pamela and it was sort of like it went to a black hole. No response. Was she even alive? Did she care? Sure enough, I would see she had photographed weddings recently as evidenced by her website. Eventually we would call her enough times that she would finally respond. Then she said she needed a few months to create the album, which came and went with no album. So then we would bug her again to see what was happening, and more excuses for us. Again, we were able to get her to commit to producing it in a few months, and again no album. At one point she even told us the album was 2⁄3 completed, but if so, where is it now that many months have passed? Wouldn’t you just want to complete the last 1⁄3 to make us happy? Likely just another attempt to get us off her back. In the end, we just got a DVD of our wedding photos, with no album. And guess what? All the picture numbering on the DVD are different from the picture numbering on the website, so all our hard work in selecting the photos? Gone. A waste of time. We might remember visually a few of our favorites, but we’ll have to re-pick all of them. Yes, the photos are nice, but what I really had wanted was an album like what she showed us originally. I would never had hired her had I known we would not get an album. Now we have to go back through all the photos, re-select our favorites, and create our album ourselves. Truly a very disappointing experience. As a courtesy to Pamela, I will acknowledge that we were not charged for an album, but would you want ½ a haircut for ½ price? You want the full haircut for full price! We would gladly pay for an album but she clearly has no interest in creating it. She deceived us right out of the gates when we hired her. If you just want a DVD with your wedding photos she takes very good pictures and was pleasant to work with for those portions of our interactions. If you want a professionally designed wedding album DONOT hire her!
